  3. Hi Rakamora I investigated the axis again after our talk and found I still need a custom user Curve to have th AB detent working correctly with my throttle . Do I need to enable the “use AB detent” thing in options?
  4. This is amazing please bring this as soon as possible!
  5. TonyG and Strut thank you for your kind support. Your squadrons are formally invited to fly in a VFA-113 Stingers PLAT CAM video, let me know when you would like to do it. Funky Franky check out our PLAT videos and LSO training film: BbMw4PcvMyY Once your pilots are getting aboard safely it’s rare that we need to wave someone off. The VFA-113 PLAT cam has been flown and personally verified by a real US Navy Carrier pilot as being more glideslope accurate than the real PLAT cam on a Nimitz class. We at the Stingers have been using it for years and hope others get as much fun out of it as we do, and please post more videos of your approaches, I love seeing them.
  6. This is true genius, great job! You’ve solved lots of issues using this box and now you’ve got me rethinking the cockpit...
  7. ‘The Warthog Project’ at the YouTube comments recommended this as well and mentioned you can also have the 15 degree twist by using it so I ordered 2 of them today :) Awesome Sting57, they are so cool. They should come with a Rift. Found out the hard way today that if your Touch controllers are on then the F/A-18 in cockpit mouse stops working after a while. Caused me a tonne of grief!
  8. Wow Gekoig that is cool! That’s great you could build up the memory to use all your panels like that. TechRoss I often spend 5 hours in DCS F/A-18C in VR and you come out feeling very hyped about everything.

  10. Brilliant news, this made my day! Looking forward to having the Litening on my jet.

  12. Ha ha cheers Mover, it wasn’t the SHB that worried me, it was the airspeed fluctuations causing me grief. Our SOP is 350 in the break and we went to 410. We had another squadron visiting and didn’t want to look messy. Matthew I flew a LOT of approaches last night checking this out. I have a new theory now that something else is happening to my AOA, does anyone know if ground effect is modelled? I recorded 2 passes for a video and the one that’s a perfect 3 wire the ball was centered nicely coming across the ramp. The one where I got a 4 wire the ball was slightly high at the ramp - in the wires. So am going to try flying a less energised ball for a while and see if I can’t get back on the 3s.
  13. Thanks Fropa, when we were putting the SOP together we deliberately left a lot out because it’s easy to get stuck in the weeds and the time blows out. Barney’s flight was perfect because you get to see a bearing line join where there’s errors and you can see my reactions trying to correct the join up. Also it highlight how important it is to be gentle with your bank angle and speed changes. The other thing it shows is when it’s PLAT night there is so much going on and a ten minute flight comes down to a 15 second chance to do one good approach. You only get one shot and it’s stressful!
  14. Thanks Fropa. Yeah I hate hearing how mean I sound correcting poor Barney every 5 mins which is why I’m acting like such an over the top jerk in the first part :) Barney is new but doing good. I couldn’t have asked for a better flight in showcasing common mistakes people make in port holding or as a flight lead.
  15. Yeah no probs I was surprised too and I said to him "why do we need ILS for case 1"?!? It helps a LOT though, just have to remember that the needles make you low if you make a perfect cross, this is the same in real life I believe.

  17. Hi Dawgie believe it or not it was a real F/A-18 guy that asked me to add ICLS to our case 1 LSO mission. Apparently they use it during final turn to assist with nailing glideslope. You place your flight path marker on top of the horizontal line like “an apple on a plate” and that will set you up nice at the start. At around the 90 you can see my FPM I way too high above the line and I say so on comms. Yes it also helps in VR, I need to be at half mile to really see the ball well. But I don’t use it beyond the start and definetly not for centerline.
  18. That’s cool Deano but the (lack of) twist hasn’t really bothered me and I’m sure the new TM Hornet stick is going to be amazing. It’s is better they keep it user friendly for people that aren’t crazy enough to build a sim pit.
  19. Thanks Tony I will try that in tonight PLAT video. We need to get your squad to come fly with us soon too! Razi that’s a very cool thread I did skim it but will go back and take a better look. It’s my fault though as I’m not going to blame Mother until I fix my AOA dip :) Cheers Deano that’s a very interesting and kind offer. The real Tornado/Hornet stick I have has the offset built in, am hoping TM has a copy of the real Hornet stick and has implemented the twist. Maybe Wags could let us know ;) Cheers Fonz - sometime this week I’m uploading a full cockpit tour video including construction.
