  2. Great work and filming, greatly enjoyed watching this!
  3. Yes we also had single launches tonight in our MP mission. The crew wouldn’t start guiding you to the cat until the jet on the other cat had launched.
  4. Thats ironic considering that having a human LSO is much more realistic than an AI one.
  5. I normally just hit LALT + F9 (LSO view) and grab the ships heading from the top of the PLAT cam, this is same as BRC.

  7. Thanks Phil will check that out.
  8. Hi fans of PLAT movies, the above video represents the last Stingers PLAT cam video. I was trying to make it to episode 113 but it has just become too much work. Thanks for your kind viewership and looking forward to seeing other squadrons videos!
  9. Our first one with the new boat!
  10. Roger, in multiplayer we just don’t use the in game ATC. If they don’t call ‘Hornet ball’ in the radio menu they shouldn’t hear the AI LSO. We just do our ball calls over teamspeak/discord.
  11. Hi Bones if you are in a Hornet with your radio on and go to the platform I think you’ll hear the LSO comms to other pilots. If you jump to spectators then to the LSO platform you won’t hear the LSO.
  12. The F numbers change to the order of the ships closest to you, so if you had a sequence of keystrokes set up, the number might refer to a different ship?
  13. Hi Thumper try LALT + C for mouse look. If your PLAT is black and you are running at 4K check your GUI scale, I think it needs to be set to 1.
  14. Hi Mark, when I get ‘go to alternate’ it’s normally because I’ve accidentally called inbound on one of the escort ships.
  15. The Stingers flew traps and a mission from DCS SUPERCARRIER today with ten aircrew all in virtual reality and had a blast. Very sorry to hear some folks aren’t having fun but I would suggest you need to look at your settings, it’s working perfectly for us. We were literally walking around on the LSO platform in VR watching recoveries and talking about what an astounding moment in sims the new boat is. Hope you guys get squared away soon.
  16. Hi Hippo, DCS always advances greatly with updates and obviously increased graphic detail might mean an impact on frame rates. As ED continues to update with further patches they always do a fantastic job of refining and improving performance. I have a 2080ti / Rift S combo and I find I can run SUPERCARRIER just fine at high levels of graphics options. What you’re seeing in the video is real time great graphics and smooth frames in Virtual Reality, all in multiplayer while connected to ‘Junks’ client PC (not a dedicated server) which is on the other side of the planet to me. Look at how smooth the other aircraft are to my view, no warping, deck sliding or stutters. It’s amazing. If I ever do find my frame rates drop off after an update I just dial back a couple graphics settings until it’s smooth again. The constant battle of performance vs visual quality has been waging for decades. I’d rather have a great looking flight sim that pushes my hardware to its limits than a lesser sim that ran maxed out easily on my system.
  17. The pop up meatball is definitely going to help some pilots greatly but personally I will disable it and just use the Supercarrier mounted meatball. I can see it just fine in a Rift S at 0.6nm and I find the pop-up distracting. YouTube videos don’t give you a good idea of what the ships ball looks like in game, I think it’s easier to see in game.
  18. Hi BMG, yeah our teamspeak is open to anyone to swing by and say hello. Ha yes Dawgie this mission is based on the Al Bhundee universe. Hi Eldur, the VR performance is great but of course the more objects you add in a mission the more your system is hindered. In this video I’m flying with 1.5 pixel density and fairly high settings in game. If I scale the graphics back a bit the frame rate goes up a lot. You just have to find a happy medium.

  20. Thanks Phantom453, we are looking forward to the LSO platform for sure. Ha ha cheers Eldur, new script is coming along well!
  21. Agreed great post Larkis. Eagle Dynamics is giving us something I’ve dreamed of having since I was a kid - an amazingly detailed Nimitz class aircraft carrier with deck crew that guide you and look and behave so realistically. Thank you for investing so much time and effort into naval aviation. The Stingers are greatly looking forward to many great years of landing aboard the mighty DCS : SUPERCARRIER!
  22. Pull the lever out and rotate, easy to do with the mouse! The warning tone silence is tucked away in the upper left corner of the panel.
  23. For beginners I find this the easiest way to explain final carrier approach technique: Use the stick to hold the pitch around 4-5 degrees. Use the throttles for everything else. 1) to make the AOA indexer read onspeed (yellow circle) 2) adjust position on glide slope (line-up the meatball). Each input affects the other so keep scanning and adjusting.
  24. Hi Jeff, trust me the carrier catapult issues are a good sign, I think it means something must be happening towards SUPERCARRIER :) Notice that LALT+F9 moves you someplace different and no longer has the Black and White TV effect? ;)
  25. Stingers flew a multiplayer combat mission last night with 11 Hornets on our dedicated server with the latest patch and it ran very well. We also flew traps and the Stennis is back to normal (doesn’t crash the server). Catapult hook ups seem to require ATC comms and cat 2 is most reliable.
