  1. This is bizarre, the Stingers all use Oculus Rift and we flew for hours today in the Persian Gulf in a complex mission with zero issues. Performed/frame rates are greatly improved for me. All our mods work perfectly. The update (even before today’s hit fix) is great for me.
  2. No probs guys thanks for the support!
  3. I agree, I’m in Oculus Rift with an old GTX 980 and my frame rates went up a lot with the new update. Awesome work ED!
  4. PLAT mod links updated with latest version. Tested in multiplayer and all view working perfectly. Designed to drop all the different view folders into OVGME and select your views from there. Overlays for VR or monitor will be set by default so no need to change pages in the manual anymore. Link is first post is also updated. This mod will be updated within a day of DCS updates to ensure everyones Stennis Lua is current.
  5. Hi guys our only mod is the PLAT cam and Stennis flight deck paint. The deck crew and equipment mod is not made by VFA-113. Each update I re-release the PLAT cam to ensure the latest Stennis lua is used so give me a day or so to do this.
  6. Hi my apologies I haven’t kept this part of it going. If you go into the coremods folder and find the Stennis lua the views are all around line 60. You can edit with notepad ++ and enable the different views one at a time. Am currently testing a new version that works with OGME for fast changing the views.

  8. Thanks Fropa! I agree and if I land on a Stennis without using our LSO mission just doesn’t feel right rolling into the groove without hearing ‘Curveball’s’ big ‘Roooger baawwl!’ :D
  9. That tiny rearming hop isn’t the sliding we had before this last patch. Deck sliding was a kind of weather cocking motion where the jet would yaw on the spot. On the MP flight deck there is always going to be little warps here and there while someone’s wife starts watching Netflix in the other room or someone from Australia spawns in. I am amazed at how great the NetCode is with DCS F/A-18C. Before DCS 2.5 Carrier ops in multiplayer were fraught with aircraft lagging about and hitting each other. Now we can fold our wings and park right next to each other with no problem. I would be blown away if it gets better than it is right now.

  11. No sliding detected during our 5 hour multiplayer session last night on the Stennis running at 26 knots. We do not have any wind in our missions though.
  12. Thanks guys, always happy when people enjoy the same stuff as we do :)
  13. Nice work ICEFIRE and thanks for crediting us in your description, greatly appreciated! This looks like something we may have to investigate :)
  14. Deck sliding 100% fixed for high speed carrier with zero wind, thanks ED!
  15. Hey guys apologies for the delay but the new VFA-113 LSO PLAT CAM and LSO mission are updated to V1.7 and the link in the first post is now current again. Here's the direct link also. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dgx1vkfpv1k39wu/PLATv1.7.zip?dl=0 Importantly I am keeping the PLAT cam mod updated so that the Stennis isn't hampered so always check back for the latest version after every DCS update. Theres a few changes to the mission to make port holding easier and some voice changes based on feedback from a real LSO we are working with. This mod also includes our deck repaint as this gets over written with updates also. The 300 series jets might have messed up liveries as we have our own skin pack and they may default to blue angels for everyone. Cheers!
  16. Amazing pics thank you! Roughly whereabouts on the flight deck was the red tie-down point?
  17. At one point it looks like he goes thru a bunch of stuff on the UFC turning it all on. I love that pre-flight / start up one too. Being able to see the time it takes to walk out on the deck and do all that stuff without bits cut out. The rocket training flight is also amazing for these reasons.
  18. Amazing Max kudos to you and VNAO for sharing your hard work with the community! Great job!
  19. Hi David, I’ve been writing a script for the new VFA-113 CV NATOPS film and talking to real US Navy Carrier pilots and LSOs and I believe it’s mostly zip lip meaning no comms required. They know their expected commence time from the overhead stack, they base their intervals on the number of aircraft ahead of them in the stack. The carrier turns into the wind at the right time and they get it on with zero radio comms. Our online squadron is getting close to be able to do this but we still have a bit of chatter around commence times as it’s complex. I am creating a series of animations to explain the intervals and procedure. We will always do ball calls though because it makes for more interesting approaches for the PLAT videos. Obviously case 3 is another level and requires comms. Here’s a link to our old case 3 training page that has more of the transcript plus some simplified NATOPS images I made: http://www.users.on.net/~jase_ash/http:/www.users.on.net/~jase_ash/city-life-photos/styled-8/
  20. DELETE PLEASE MODS
  21. Ha ha yep imagine how long it took to make the PLAT CAM mod ;)
  22. Great video/ mod Nealius! You have saved me a lot of work. :) This mod uses the VFA-113 PLAT CAM mod file to remove the B&W TV effect, Nealius was kind enough to contact us and ask for permission to include it in this mod which we happily granted. Great work Nealius I will use some of the angles in our next movie which covers Carrier Operations.
  23. Interesting I’ll give that a go, I was just testing from starting on deck.
  24. ^^^ is there any wind present?
  25. 23 knots is the maximum speed zero deck slide. 24 knots and above gets increasingly slidy. This is with zero wind, and brand new mission in single player. We have just learned to live with it though, it's not a major drama for us.
