Hi all, We are aware that a number of players are reporting "lag" and disconnects on the server. This issue seems to have been most apparent since the 2.5.6 patch, however we cannot put it entirely down to DCS itself. The server's router firmware was updated this week. This improved connection speeds, both up and down, considerably. However, since the update, we still see lag and disconnects. The lag and disconnects seems to be worst when: 1. There are 15 to 20 or more players online, and/or 2. From around 2000 to 2200 Central European Time (CET) 3. Players from Germany and Austria seem to be worst hit. This might be connected to the large user-load in those countries currently, related to COVID-19 quarantine measures. It would be appreciated if people could advise whether or not they are also seeing bad "lag" on other servers, or if it is just SoW. It is possible we might run an "empty" mission (no AI or ground objects) to test the server in the next few days. Es wäre schön, wenn man sich beraten lassen könnte, ob man auch auf anderen Servern ein schlechtes "Lag" sieht oder ob es sich nur um SoW handelt. Problem ten wydaje się być najbardziej widoczny od czasu poprawki 2.5.6, jednak nie możemy go całkowicie sprowadzić do samego DCS. Firmware serwera został zaktualizowany w tym tygodniu. Poprawiło to znacznie szybkość połączenia, zarówno w górę, jak i w dół. Jednak od czasu aktualizacji nadal widzimy opóźnienia i rozłączenia. Opóźnienia i rozłączenia wydają się być najgorsze, kiedy: 1. W sieci jest od 15 do 20 lub więcej graczy, i/lub 2. Od około roku 2000 do 2200 czasu środkowoeuropejskiego (CET) 3. Zawodnicy z Niemiec i Austrii wydają się być najgorszym uderzeniem. Może to być związane z dużym obciążeniem użytkowników w tych krajach, związanym z pomiarami kwartyny COVID-19. Byłoby mile widziane, gdyby ludzie mogli doradzić, czy widzą również złe "lag" na innych serwerach, czy też jest to tylko SoW. Możliwe jest, że w ciągu kilku najbliższych dni będziemy mogli przeprowadzić "pustą" misję (bez SI lub obiektów naziemnych), aby przetestować serwer. Prevent multiplayer mission trk script sharing

The motivtion is to prevent players taking the mission offline, learning where all the targets are and how the scripts are workig the mission, then jumping back online an using that info to game the mission/ get ann unfair advantage -

Hm.. yes, I see the problem here. Only updating the table every 5 or 10 minutes is going to potentially provide inaccurate (old) information, rather than just locking the controller for a period of time between callups for each player. It seems that providing a constantly updating system that is heavily rounded is going to be a far better/cleaner option.

Thanks Pikey, I'm only after a cool-down timer to prevent repetitive smpamming, rather than a full BRAA/ contact report function (whihc we already have). Although your cardinal conversions are very nice! :thumbup:

Hi all, I’m in the process of implementing a modified version of Steggles EWRS scripts into a WW2 context for multiplayer. In order to reduce some of the accuracy, I’d like to introduce a cool-down timer, which prevents a player or GROUP (I only have one aircraft/ player per group) from calling up the EWRS script until after a delay (time inseconds, to be determined) since that same player’s previous call. The code would then be inserted into Steggles EWRS.lua file, ideally, as opposed to having it sit alongside as another .lua script. Is there anything like from already from other scripts that I can reference, or do any of the code people out there have a suggestion? I suspect the tricky part will be making sure that the cool-down is specific to each player or GROUP.

There used to be a mod that would allow users to change the countries assigned to a coalition in an existing mission. However all the links to this seems to be gone. Does anyone know where if it still exists, and how I can get it?

ED, thanks for improving the head-limits for the spitfire, allowing us now, with TiR, to "lean" out the canopy. This is most welcome. Unfortunately, this new feature has highlighted even more how bad/ ugly/ cheap those baked on cockpit reflections are. They're even more obvious and unpalatable from the new lean-out perspective. See the image below. How about just releasing the canopy as clean. The reflections add VERY little value apart from making in-cockpit still screenshots look slightly better. I suppose this is good for marketing purposes, but it really detracts from game-play. Can you have a word with the Graphics team lead and put an end to these? I know owners of other modules are similarly unimpressed, especially in VR.

A second server, no. I would consider shifting the server over to the stable branch though. I might do this if/when the DM and Assets pack are ever finished.
