  2. Hi folks, What do I need to do in the Mission Editor to make it possible for someone with Combined Arms to take a Tactical Commander slot AND use a radio channel to talk to players via SRS?
  3. Is it the LS's DM, or the Torps being weak? If you hit it with bombs is it just as hard to kill?
  4. One new mission added to the DCS server rotation. June 13th Morning mission. First V1 target built for the allies to attack.
  5. Adds vote :) Iroquois, Mustang and Spitfire are already in the sim - which the RNZAF flew A4 is a popular mod Corsair is coming - many of which were RNZAF aircraft C130 AI/ static would look nice in NZ colours Pacific map could do with NZ in it too
  6. Blimey, I am 2 minutes in and I've heard more about what's going on on that YT channel and other videos I should watch than the actual content.. . . Does this guy do anything except talk about his other videos and patreons?
  7. Is there a reason you're quoting kts in this, even though the ASI is in mph? You're speeds, when converted to mph are OK though. Also, pulling back on the stick and raising the nose up "above the horizon" causes a LOT of people to bounced on touch down. Letting the attitude sit a bit less extreme will put you on the front two wheels first, and is far less likely to result in the bouncing. The spitfire likes to land on the main gear, irrespective of what purists will tell you.
  8. 1. There are TWO versions of the armed P51 mustang (the NA25 and the NA30). Each one needs it's controls set up independently - and do it in game, not via file edits, unless you're using notepad++ and are familiar with editing .lua files. 2. Bind controls in single player mode. Sometimes binds which are made whilst online don't take 3. Save duplicates, just in case
  9. Hi reflected, pushing the task does not work for me, using your mission. As soon as the fighters get within short range, the A20s will react like fighters themselves. I've tried all the tricks I know, I cannot get them to react like level bombers. . .
  10. SoW server also reports the searchlights not working in multiplayer.
  11. Have updated the afternoon/ evening missions on the server. At about 2010 hours (in mission time) just as it is starting to get dark, a number of searchlights will now activate at the main population centres in France (Le Havre, Cherbourg, Caen and St. Lo). If you happen to be flying during the last 20 minutes of these missions the lights should now blink on as it gets dark. Normally people depart the server as missions close, so this is a little treat for the few who stick it out to the end
  12. Yes they both are. A20s conduct level bombing daylight raids as well as some smaller low level tactical attacks. In the early morning missions there might also be the odd RAF night bombing mission returning home as the sun is coming up. JU88s conduct torpedo attacks against allied shipping. Sporadic, few in number and small in size. Both the A20 and the JU88s might also be spotted now and then conducting solo flights (recon etc.)
  13. Full compliment of 5 missions all updated with the new WW2 assets and on rotation now
  14. New "Campaign stats" page added to SoW website to track team-wide stats on a monthly basis: http://www.stormofwar.org/?Page=dcs/stats/campaign
  15. I disagree. There's plenty of video of people on SoW shooting down B17s. 1 fighter against 12 B17s should be dead. If youn want to survive the box you have 2 options: 1. Head on attacks 2. Co-ordinated attacks with squadron strength numbers WW2 was not a single player event.
  16. Set their instructions properly in the ME, and they won.
  17. I dont agree with this at all. Sitting on the 6 of a bomber is going to get you killed. Don't do it. just ask Peter Townsend :) Conduct slashing and head on attacks, the exact tacti8cs that were successful during the war. B17s, Ju88s and A20s can all be shot down this way. I think people overrate their own shooting, and think that bombers are easy prey. They are not. a single fighter sitting on the 6 of a bomber is just asking for trouble.
  18. Try reaction to threat = Passive defence.
  19. JU88s and A20 aircraft now being added to missions on the server. Missions will continue to be updated with new assets over the coming days.
  20. 1. Check that ALL bombers have full load of bombs (12x ANM64) 2. Make sure they group is set to "Ground Attack" task 3. ensure the lead aircraft is set to leader, leader, leader in the Combat box formation, under WW2: Big formation way point task. Have that set right from the origin WP 4. bombers seem to need 10km at LEAST of run into target and 10km after target before turning. If, on their run in, the bomb doors never open, this usually mens you have not given them enough run in distance, OR you've added a turn into their flight plan too near to the target. 5. Specify how many bombs you want them to drop (WEAPON = Iron Bombs, REL QTY = ALL) 6. Set up the lead aircraft only. Complete everything for the leader BEFORE adding any wingmen. Only once the leader is working, then add wing-men, Here is an example mission https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y9aMqeruuWqwkjGXPLZ0OYk4Ev7pHNwe/view?usp=sharing let me know if it works for you
  21. My experience is that this is not correct. Carpet combing does work (to a degree0. It's just VERY fiddly to get it to work properly, consistently.
  22. Sound like what you want is a server or missions where spitfires fight against spitfires.. or P51s against P51s. I think that's the balanced / even game-play environment you want.
  23. I am of similar opinion. I don't see what people are complaining about.
  24. Or is this a Normandy map problem? (would not surprise me)
