  1. This stuff is just getting insane :helpsmilie::doh:
  2. Since the open beta release of v. 1.5 the MiG-21 fever got me for the first time and I'm finally starting to fly it. (The performance in the initial release was a huge drawback for me) But now as I use the manual, something comes back to my mind. I feel really uncomfortable using this... My problem: Its structure is somewhat complicated, compared to the A-10C manual The main issue to me is the manual itself. The idea with the sections and the numbered buttons is great, you know roughly where to find a mentioned switch (RV, LH etc.) but I would really like to have the sub-systems numbered out seperately. Like the ASP gunsight, on the page showing the "C" segment it's just numbered 12-31... erm yea great If I would like to know what's the flip-switch on the bottom right sight doing (just beneath the russian marking "yarko" brightness) I have to search my way through half of the manual only to find a description of the ASP telling me "CU23 - pipper ON/OFF" but there is no description of what it exactly does. The A-10C manual is much easier to understand (if you have a look at page 132 there is even a short description for the boost pumps, Number 2) Just above the ASP description, on page 128-129 "Selection interface" here the switches are not even listed, I have to read the whole text to get to know that CU1 shows me if the gun is loaded or not. The different warning panels are just added on the end, i would prefer to have them explained in a chronological manner together with the rest of the systems. I would really like to have the sections with all the switches numbered and a short description of what they exactly do (RV 14-16 and all the switches below them are a good example for this missing details) Also I would like if every image containing numbered switches would have a list with them just like in the A-10C manual or beneath the main segment description image. What about trimming the MiG-21? Did I miss this completely or is the information on page 64 about the SAU pretty much everything about the trim and autopilot system? The training mission which shows the cold start procedure is a funny read but in terms of usability I really prefer narrated ones and/or better described ones. Also it isn't exactly the same as the start-up check list in the manual. Please post if you feel the same way about this manual or not. Maybe it's just me :helpsmilie:
  3. Yesterday evening a venezuelan Su-30 crashed close to the Colombian border. I read a tiny german news article about it, I wasn't able to find much more... Found on google news: http://www.aporrea.org/actualidad/n277814.html
  4. Did they eventually managed to get there and fight the fire?? :ranting: Or help these lads?
  5. No naval reconnaisance aircraft, like the P-3 Orion https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilyushin_Il-38 I saw one when I was on vacation in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
  6. I like the sound of the Ka-32, which is flying in Switzerland (transport) it's a variation of the -27
  7. Here you go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myasishchev_VM-T
  8. I'm happy with my MFG Crosswind http://mfg.simundza.com/mfgcrosswind.php Cons: They're not cheap Pros: They're not cheap  I really like the feel. It's smooth and accurate not a loose plastic thingy... I had Saitek Pro rudder pedals and Logitechs G940 before, I wasn't unhappy with those pedals but this is just a whole different thing. There's a review thread somewhere around here
  9. I was wondering the same. This kind of flying is the worst regarding Fps, and this looks really smooth So you either have a monster rig or we can expect an engine that is already opdimized really good
  10. Wait, wait, wait are you trying to tell me that WW2 was already fought in COLOR? :shocking:
  11. I have finally sorted out the USB issues on my X99 board, after 3 months. Now BRING IT ON, ED I'm ready! :P :pilotfly: and like many others DCS World is hibernating until V 2.0 comes out I have to admit 2 months after release I will be again yelling around, beggin you to unleash the mighty F/A-18C :D
  12. Does any one know if the door lock switch (forgot the upper one-NORM-LOCK) is self-resetting like the A-10s motor switch (on the IGN position) It was said in TV, that the A320 has a numeric keypad to enter the security code outside of the cockpit, but you can block the code being of any use for 5-20 min by setting the switch to LOCK. I personally would like to have it this way: pilot left the cockpit, the switch was accidentally place in the LOCK position, the Co-pilot set the initial descending path and passed out due to any unknown reason Every different explanation would be horrible :fear:
  13. I love amazon customer reviews:

  16.:worthy: Wow absolutely beautiful! Thanks for this! Also the performance looks very good
  17. that's the reason I've upgraded and I have the feeling I won't fly until the big news :(
  18. I'd say that the lebanese air force is basically not existing... Hmm :book: ah my memory didn't lie http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebanese_Air_Force :smartass: So basically everything coming roughly south-> Syria can be considered hostile to them (so is north, remember the shot down of a turkish AF RF-4E?) The Israeli air strike during daytime seems a bit dangerous to me... Off topic: Do you guys ever heard of this: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Orchard I heard about it in our radio news (on a side note, what else ) and it still stays in my mind, last week I heard that Deir az-Zor is still being ruled by goverment forces/ mercenaries
  19. Thanks for the cleanup... Is it planned to adapt the current map to EDGE? I'm well aware that this may mean to completely rebuild the whole map... But regarding the very interesting topography of the area, the political background etc. etc. Also the collidable trees would add a lot to the map
  20. DCS World app Received a newsletter today https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dcs/id938054713?mt=8 Unfortunately most of it is in russian on my german iOS 8 ipad 3
  21. My guess: Murmansk What's the device on top of the Tu-142s tail fin? MAD?
