  1. Direct to 1.0.2. Best regards, Tango.
  2. No issues here. Are you running windowed or full screen? I'm running full screen here. Best regards, Tango.
  3. I set mine for 40 curve, dead zone of 15. The dead zone covers the maximum slack area before I'm pushing against the spring. Works great and permits for accurate flying without sudden large control inputs at the end of the travel range which makes hard maneuvers harder to achieve safely. Curves wouldn't be needed if the stick was longer. A downside of short sticks I guess. Best regards, Tango.
  4. Another option is to set up for auto-hover, then disengage the altitude channel. You will then have manual control of the vertical speed via the collective. Make small inputs though otherwise you'll upset the rest of the autopilot system. I find it works great when I'm loitering for extended periods. Best regards, Tango.
  5. Check my sig - runs DCS:W well overall, and doesn't break the bank either. :) Best regards, Tango.
  6. The brakes are toe brakes and part of the rudder pedal system. You push the base to operate the rudders, and press the top to operate the brakes. There is no parking brake, so the only way to stop creep on start up is to hold the toe brakes. Best regards, Tango.
  7. Hi, According to the manual, tracers were not required due to the accuracy of the pipper. Best regards, Tango.
  8. Hi, You need to wait for INS alignment before moving the aircraft. The standby attitude indicator seems a bit temperamental. I've not seen it wander on the ground so far, but it certainly does after tight maneuvering of the aircraft. This is normal, and you need to level the aircraft before pulling the cage knob to re-align it in flight. Regarding the rolling HUD - I think this is INS related. You need to wait until it tells you NAV READY before moving. HARS is the older inertial attitude and heading reference system, and it can drive the analogue HSI and big ADI ball in the center of the forward panel. It used to be the primary system on the A-10A, but now it is a backup on the A-10C. It is recommended to switch the system to EGI mode (Enhanced GPS/INS), so the INS system is providing the attitude and heading information to the instruments. Read the manual on the systems - they are very detailed indeed, and you will need to know it. Best regards, Tango.
  9. Hi, AFAIK updates do not affect activation. If you want to do an upgrade of your computer, or re-install on a new one, you can deactivate your current copy, so you are sure to not lose the activation. Re-run the StarForce activation tool - you should see an option to deactivate. Best regr
  10. Start with the basics - learning to just fly and handle the jet. I've got a mission set up with nothing but an empty A-10 and some fuel ready to go on the runway for practicing basic flying skills. See the attached. Use the rudder to keep the aircraft on the runway, and pull back smoothly at around 130 kts to lift off. To land, use full flap and approach at about 130 kts. Just fly gently at first until you get used to it, then start getting into steep turns, etc.. to get a feel for the aircraft. Try climbing and descending at a particular airspeed, to get a feel for the aircraft performance and power. Once you're happy with climbs, descents, and steep turns, start doing some aerobatics. Know which keys in your setup perform the following: * Trim (pitch and roll) * Gear up/down * Flaps retract/extend * Speed brake retract/extend * Nose Wheel Steering (NWS) engage/disengage Best regards, Tango. 11. Textbook description! Best regards, Tango.
  12. You can see this really well if you pull up the TGP and the Maverick cameras at the same time!! Very awesome! I was a deliberately bad pilot and found multiple ways to damage the aircraft. Some interesting things happened as a result! :D Put several APCs at the end of the runway and provoke them to shoot at you (on the ground). :D Best regards, Tango.
  13. Does the real aircraft do this? If so, +1 for the idea! Best regards, Tango.
  14. I found Mavs were a matter of learning when it will NOT fire, then ensuring everything is configured. I can fire Mavs no probs now! Just struggling with when the Mavs are slaved to SPI and I'm using the targeting pod to designate a target. The Mavs don't want to lock this way. Still trying to figure out LGBs. Strangely, I found it to be the other way around in Falcon. Best regards, Tango.
  15. +1 I'm finding the systems are taking longer to learn even though I'm already familiar with the concepts. HOTAS is a MUST for this sim!!! I managed with the keyboard in Falcon but this baby takes it to a new level. I'm on the HOTAS controls a lot more than I ever was in Falcon, but I think that is in part to do with the experience gained with earlier gen HOTAS systems. The Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS is looking very good indeed! No pots on any axis (including throttle) - all are hall-effect. Definitely looking like it is worth the money!! Best regards, Tango.
  16. You know you've had too much A-10 when... ...you realize it is 0600 and you're still flying... Best regards, Tango.
  17. One of them is the menu is sometimes populated with ??? and blanks! I'm still trying to learn the keys to operate this thing. No HOTAS is turning out to be a real PITA and my keyboard is suddenly looking very short on keys! Best regards, Tango.
  18. Sorry - been one of those days. Best regards, Tango.
  19. I suppose the Janet flights are just photoshop, too? They're very real 737s... http://www.where-is-area-51.com/janet-flights-to-area-51.html Best regards, Tango.
  20. That's great! Back to getting excited about the release! :D Maybe you might want to add that note to the FAQ that adding DX11 support won't stop it working on DX9 hardware. I'm still trying to get over what M$ did to FSX. "DX10 Preview" I think is half the reason it is shite as a sim; too much eye candy, not enough sim. It corrupts video memory like nothing else, too. Best regards, Tango.
  21. Does DX11 mean I will require DX11 hardware and Win 7 to be able to run it? There won't be a DX9 version? If it is DX11 only, you lost me as a customer. Best regards, Tango.
  22. Best regards, Tango.
  23. Awesome!!! Best regards, Tango.
  24. I already saw he is running a 4th gen super computer. ;) I want to know if it will run on my lowly rig reasonably well. * Intel Core2 Duo E6700 * 4 Gb DDR2 800 MHz * 1 Gb GeForce 7950GX2 * Win XP SP3 DCS:BS runs great at max detail, so if that is any help... Best regards, Tango.
  25. Air-to-Air Refuelling Hi, Will air-to-air refuelling be modelled in the sim? Best regards, Tango.
