I'm making a livery of the SU-25 that's inspired by the SEA A-7 livery, but haven't been able to match the pylons with the rest of the underside of the plane.... they're still the sky blue color of the original basic Russian skin. I do find psd's marked "pilon" and "pilon_2" and painted over the lt blue base layer, but nothing changed on the pylons. The rest of the livery is mostly done. Thx

Just fyi for anyone interested in a related airframe, here's a link to the forum/thread for the AI-only EF-111A available for download on their github.

I'm not an official staff person, but on their Discord they're saying they have a new coder to work of the FM... it's on the final bits for an AI-only release, and they asked if we (those of us on Discord) were willing to wait a bit and get it released at the same time for player use...I don't recall seeing the results, but it seems to me it is in "The Process" of nearing completion. It is being actively worked on. There are two short videos of it in-flight on YouTube.

I got this from Reddit, this thread has a couple links and a description of the moons angular relationship to the Earth (the Moon's orbit isn't aligned with the Equator). It was noted in the thread that the Moon's orientation is loosely associated with the latitude one is on (look at "First Quarter" column and then look at the Latitude on the left). North Pole = 90⁰ = shadow is up/down London = 51.5⁰ = shadow is ~ +45⁰ Equator = ⁰ = shadow is horizontal Sydney = 33.9⁰ S = shadow is ~ -45⁰ South Pole = 90⁰ = shadow is down/up

Since most of my flying in the -104 is done on mission I make for myself, I just plunk an F-15 (set for "client") on the ground (as if for a cold start) near the Starfighter and enter it first, then immediately change into the -104, and it works. Same with the -105, except you have to set a -25T in the mission (cold start, "client"), get in the -25T first then i to the -105. Not sure how this method would work in MP, you'd have to find a server that has the appropriate FC3 planes available to check it.

As I understand it, a livery will be visible to everyone who has the livery installed in the appropriate folder.

Here's my final effort...Good enough for me, any suggestions to make it better? There is a video on YouTube with the actual "T-38 Heritage paint" scheme. It's filmed from a chase plane, shows all around.

Where are the .edm files for the SU25? I looked through the bazar folder and coremods, couldn't find them. And where is the place I can put the skins/liveries so they can be used in-game? For some reason, "saved games/DCS Ooen Beta/Liveries/su-25/liveries" doesn't work for me.

Cool, thank you.

So news articles/videos talk about how the Starliner "hatch" was closed, and then it disconnected from the ISS. Apparently they meant an "internal" hatch, because the external hatch was clearly still open as it maneuvered away from the ISS. When and how did that hatch get closed? I'm just curious, because it caught my eye while watching the live feed...

Learning a little....this time it's the numbers that are under control: I just "borrowed" a description.lua and by a process of trial and error I figured it out! Only took a couple days or so.

Figured out why there were a few "missing textures"...in the description.lua, all 4 of the .dds objects (wing, rude, nose, tail, all of which have 4 traits: diffuse, spec, decal, and damage...diffuse has to be marked "false" on all 4 objects to use them) were "true", which means the computer wasn't using the files in the livery folder. Once I marked diffuse as false, the "missing textures" went away. (Obviously the colored textures were being used, but the "missing textures" were also, until I marked "diffuse" as "false." I don't know why, and I suppose it doesn't matter much because it's working now, as per several YouTube videos) Yay! Still have the white background on the numbers (on all 4 locations, twice on the nose and twice on the tail.) Checked the "numbers" .dds in the textures .zip, it has a transparent background...Could someone let me know what's the magic words to get rid of the solid white background? Thanks!

Came across a model builder site with US Army WW2 colors...for your edification: F-5E-3 1938 colors Blue: 186493 ("true blue" in Gimp, bottom pic)) Yellow/orange (gold): efa400 (insignia yellow, from Gimp) Red: 972c23 (from online color picker) I like the pale blue better, maybe a little darker...but WIP.

I can't even imagine the FPS hit while modeling a 2 km long Battlestar....But it would be fun to land on one....or take off via launch tube! -
Ah ha! Behold! After much fiddling and watching Ditch3R's videos on liveries (and many others) and asking a few questions (thank you Ditch3r!), I have done a very basic livery thing! Gotta adjust the colors a bit, and work on the background of the numbers and doo-dads elsewhere....but it works!! Achievement unlocked! So even though now that there's a person doing the livery for me, I've found the colors I want. I notice there are a few faint "missing textures" on the wings and on the right side of the fuselage...and I haven't been able to locate the bort numbers to change the white background to transparent. One thing at a time, I suppose. Edit: Turns out the "missing textures" was because these pics were screenshotted in MV2, which (apparently?) doesn't use the roughmet etc files. Once I started taking pics in-game, the shineyness went away and got more matt.

Will the 4 AIMs cause an issue with IC?

First time I saw a picture of this (on an F-16) I wanted it for the F-5E-3! Classic look of a mid- to late 30's USAAC (soon to be USAAF, then USAF) training aircraft. Can anyone make this for me? I'd appreciate it, just DM me with your desired appreciation. Thank you!

I just opened the Model Viewer "2.0" and there's a message saying ST is "deprecated" and to use MT. I do use MT, how do I let the viewer know this?

I downloaded this a couple days ago, looks great! I also downloaded the fuel probe, and that caused a "did not pass" check in multiplayer (it did say it would in its description)...are you planning on including the fuel probe, or will it stay a separate mod?

While over Argentina, I happened to look at the Moon, and it is upside down. I watched a video recently where it is explained how and why the Moon is seen differently by North and South. If you look at the impact crater that looks like a star (that is Tycho) in the Northern Hemisphere, it's near the "bottom" of the Moon, while in the Southern it is near the "top". Source Moon in DCS/Argentina currently:

In the FF F-5E3, there are no programmable waypoints ...only compass/HSI and timepiece.
