Well that's basically exactly what I was looking for! Many thanks! With this it's just a mater of assigning buttons in DCS and adding just a bit of fantasy with leds and stuff manually in the script. Perfect :) Still have some script tricks to figure out though.... For example using 2 times the mapKey function on same button seems to cancel the first one instead of doing both actions. Will have to look into this!

Well that sounds like exactly what I'd like to do but when I use the GUI editor and don't create any event I still have pretty much every button removed from the virtual device :( Is this only possible through pure script editing or am I doing it wrong in the GUI? I'd love to get the buttons just passed through the virtual device while still able to map keys on them through the GUI editor. That would be the more efficient way to do everything I want :)

Hey Target professionals! Had my first try on Target and hope you can help. I would like to use it to map only a couple of stuff that is not well handled or to add some LED stuff on the throttle. My problem is when activated, it just removes 90% of the buttons from the virtual device that I have to all map to keyboard keys which takes forever.... Is there a way to get Target virtual device to behave exactly as the original device, and then add couple of keyboard maping? This would save massive time as for lot of modules you can already assign buttons in a IF...else way so you don't need any manual maping there. Hope I'm clear enough! Thanks!

TM Warthog Throttle - easiest way to map Slew to Button?
Oldfox replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Thrustmaster
Is maping the slew to button possible in Target too? Just started to mess with it so.... Tell me now if I must give up already because it's sooooo time consuming to remap everything...... -
When ordering the warthog despite everyone saying tdc slew is shit, I was sure it would be anyway better than my old shitty 4 way hat. I was wrong it's just not usable at all :D Order placed!

I know just need to survive until the part is available again :D

Had my first try yesterday with Target SW. Takes some time to get into the head of a Thrusmaster developper but once understood it's pretty easy (but not quick) to do what you want. Issue for me is first that it takes lot of time as you always have to map every damn button (up press, up release, don press down release oh dear...) to a key, and doing so you have a lot of chances that the setting you are doing is plane dependent (3 position flaps for A10 for example). When not using target all buttons are mapped to buttons which makes it lot faster to configure as long as the plane can be configured with controls like if/else so you can map those on/off buttons. Is there a way to add buttons that are directly mapped from the throttle to the virtual device instead of having almost all of them revoved and needing a key maping? And for the TDC slew configuration... Wow I knew that it was said to be not too good but hell it's a disaster indeed.... Was way easier to slew with an old destructed 4 way hat :'( What's best to configure it: change TARGET curve and linear in DCS? Linear Target and changing curve in DCS? A mix of both? Thanks!

Not saying it doesn't work but it's just sad you have to reassign everything while it was 99% complete without use of Target. Not using gremlin but UCR I think as I need this to map car pedals to rudder axis. Will try also with that option. I hear the argument of the potential as well.... I guess for LED control it's just a matter of lighting a led when a control is pushed, not a real feedback from DCS? I wonder if possible.

Ok so just had my first try to map keys to throttle buttons on and off through target. And it does exactly what I expected from reading quickly manual: It works perfectly for the keys... But creates a new virtual device with nothing affected in DCS while my perfectly working throttle has disappeared from controler list in DCS. :( Will probably have to switch to the target hread now :D
-
I probably only should ask more questions once I first try TARGET, but from what I read it kinda disconnects the real controller and provide a virtual one. So I wonder how it could not make a mess in DCS input configuration? If no simple answer to this I'll have to test and see :)

Thanks, Well that was the option I was looking for but with no luck.... Maybe I'm blind :) It was with the hook switch in the F14.... Will try to find it again tonight. But the behaviour you describe is what I was afraid of indeed. Did not start to play with target software for the moment, hope you can adjust couple of stuff and let the rest handled by DCS, too lazy to code everything needed I'm afraid... :D

Hi guys, I just received the Warthog throttle and seems really great appart from that tdc slew that is indeed... well... particular! I thought I had to install target stuff and then program things and so on.... But after launching DCS apparently everything is already working fine! Is something more can be done so the throttle works best with DCS? I mean functions that a newbie like me won't know at first like "is it possible for the gear state to control the throttle LEDS ?" And other question is: is there a way so that buttons are evaluated at start, because once in the plane I have to toggle them once before they have correct behaviour. Thanks for your help!

Hi, I had two times in a row a crash at the same point of mission 5 of Baltic Dragon campaign. Link with crash log here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=271311 Hope it helps, Thanks!
-
Sadly in mission 5 I just had two identical brutal crashes. After killing triple AAA and some troups in point PAPA, when the trucks come from west village, DCS crashes. Thought I had no luck but second try had a second crash at same point in the mission. I'm still on last openBeta, here is crashlog. Think I'll have to stop that fantastic campain until it gets resolved by ED :( dcs.log-20200426-094333.zip

Had no issue on PG was able to do a radar nav fix on a harbour. Make sure radar is active (T1 or T2 I think) and check antenna elevation is ok. I discovered recently that playing with elevation can help adjust level of detail we see depending on range. Issue is you don't know what is current elevation if not in a AA mode I think.

No idea but with detents I think I would have bought Virpil one even if 100+$. They had them on previous model but apparently had wear troubles from what I understood.
-
Thanks guys, throttle warthog standalone ordered :) Will probably enjoy it a lot not having to use the damn little throttle on my playskool stick :) We'll see for the grip as a next step!
-
Is the tdc a true analogue slew input by the way for stock warthog ? I'm used to tdc through a old 4 way hat so I could really enjoy the upgrade :p
-
Hi folks! Time for me to at last get a real hotas, and as for grips I am well conviced by Virpil or Vkb ones, I struggle deciding about throttle.... For example why would I take a new Virpil one instead of the well known Warthog one, which has idle and AB detents? I never really cared about AB detents but that probably adds a lot of immersion, as for the idle detents in cold start? What would you choose? Do you care about detents ? Is there something the Warthog really lacks? Thanks!

[MISSION] mission 5 road placement wrong?
Oldfox replied to LastRifleRound's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Have same problem impossible to land. Issue is that when trying to edit the mission there already are zones remove 1 remove 2 ... that seem there to take care of this but the objects stay there along the road anyway :( -
Still nothing about the magical INS update bug that has been there for years now?
-
Thanks guys! Should the cross showing the point on ground appear in HUD for the offset point? I had some strange floating cross behaviour in some tests I did !!??
-
Hi, Using all available tutorials / manuals / included training, the input of rho/theta for offset points and precision bombing is set in Nautical Miles. But when entering nautical miles it fails miserably.... until I convert this in km and now it seems correct. Something has changed recently with input units in Rho/Theta mode? Thanks! Edit: my bas apparently already reported and also buged for delta alt: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4266905&postcount=15

Thanks guys! No mods at all full vanilla software for me. Is it kind of random or should I wait for a fix instead of crashing again 45 min into the mission? :p
