  1. Happy new year guys! Interesting discussion here. I read the left diagram as the lift-induced drag of the aircraft, and the middle table as the form/interference drag penalty of external stores. Does anybody know if this very diagram was implemented in the code, maybe @MYSE1234? Just did a quick flight: It's amazing to see the Viggen flying in zero meters with 100% fuel for 1200km at Mach 0.85 (clean) @ISA. The "B/V %KM" value would be ~0.104 at 15.2 tons , and ~0.1025 at 10.7 tons. So the min/max distances would be 100/0.104 = 961km and 100/0.1025 = 975 km, so I guess the diagram is not implemented right now. Never mind, the Viggen is great.
  2. Hey Darkdiz! To be honest I dont know if this should work. But I am just curious: Did you use mklink.exe to make directory joints? Like ... mklink /j <NAME> <DIRECTORY>
  3. DCS 2.9.11.4686 South Atlantic June, in the evening, clear weather, sun is still slightly above the horizon First picture: The terrain shadow is visible to the far right of the ridge line, but not visble starting at the ridge line, but it should. Second picture: The camera was moved downwards to show that the lighted area should be in shadow, because the sun is now under the ridge line. Flew in VR with shared parser = true

  4. TACAN is working since 2.9.11.4686, and can therefore be closed. Thank you ED and ORBX!
  5. Hey Arecibo! You said you already managed to fly the lesson successfully, but nevertheless I did a quick run-through of the Lesson 03: Takeoff & Navigation. You may discover the one or other :magic: trick in that video Unfortunately I could not speak caused by a freaking soar throat Kind regards and happy new year! TOViper
  6. Verrrrry nice, South Atlantic in Winter clothes. I love it. Thanks ED and RAZBAM!

  8. Looking at your posting, one could say that the manual is actually VERY good
  9. Good morning Viggen drivers! Unfortunately, the newest manual revision didn't make it into the DCS update. You can download the latest revision RC2.1.2411 using the link in the first post of this thread. Manual revision 2024-11-12: .) page 56: Added header "Engine data" for the data table .) page 82: Added headers "Main landing gear", "Nose landing gear", "Limits" .) page 82: Added text about the maximum allowable descent rate to the chapter "Limits" .) page 184: Added didactic reference to chapters "Vind / RUTA / MÅL Overview" and "Reconnaissance" .) page 192: Moved picture to page 191 for didactic reasons .) page 215: Moved chapter "Canopy Jettison" to page 214 for didactic reasons .) page 215: Reworked chapter "Ejection seat" slightly .) page 215: Added pictures for Ejection handles and the Seat height switch .) page 216: Reworked chapter "Oxygen" slightly .) page 251: Removed picture (already shown in chapter 03 & to keep layout of chapter 05 consistent - no pictures) .) page 252: Restructured chapter "AKT POS" for didactic reasons .) page 254: Restructered chapter "Vind / RUTA / MÅL Overview" for didactic reasons .) page 256 & 257: Restructered chapter "TID" for didactic reasons .) page 258: Restructered chapter "TAKT" for didactic reasons .) page 260: Moved text about Normal mode to page 259 for didactic reasons .) page 376: Removed "I." from the header .) page 376: Removed "II." from the header .) page 382: Added new chapter "Miscellaneus", currently covering the special options tab and details about the two currently existing options. .) all pages: Exchanged "Course" with "Heading" whenever applicable (following the change for page 31 that came with update 2024-10-18; note: "Course correction knob" is being kept) Preview: The next revision will take care about the B-scope of the radar, some clarification about the target fix function, and some other small issues. Since this is a bit more difficult step than just tiny corrections & bug fixes, it might take a little more time as usual. Kind regards, TOViper
  10. As written, the TACAN in ANDOYA is not visible on the F-10 map. Although, all aircraft capable of TACAN can tune in 59X and receive at least DME information, but no radial information. ANDOYA VOR on 112.20 MHz can be tuned in into any VOR receiver, there DME + RADIALS are working fine. Tested with F-4, F-14, F-16, UH-1. DCS 2.9.10.4160. Greetings
  11. With the help of my fellow mates Quigon and Snappy I changed the B-scope story a bit; this is the new draft: null
  12. I found out that the new "Multi selection" tool cannot handle carrier groups with aircraft on it. Or I am doing something wrong? Once all groups (aircraft, carrier and linked statics) are selected, and then moving them around via mouse, they somehow "dissolve". The aircraft that initially had been linked to the carrier (no matter if cold or hot) and the linked static objects are moved somewhere else. See video: Otherwise, nice update with that fog. The same fog setting seems to be "thinner" at night than during day, or is it just an illusion?
  13. It has. The current version is 2.1.2410, as wished by many. A newer version is work in progress right now. null
  14. Just downloaded the new update. I see the "Volumetric cloud" option didn't make it into the Launcher, right?
  15. Guys, I need you to read through. This is the first part of my change regarding the B-scope. Another one regardin the distances will follow. I divided the content, now spread over chapters 3 and 5: Chapter 3 now contains only a very rough description of the B-scope (changes on page 97), and chapter 5 now hosts a detailed description (new on page 266). This chapter is not easy to change, thus I am asking you for your opinions. null
  16. Hey Rudel! Did the trick fix the issues you experienced recently?
  17. Found that one: https://youtu.be/63zLK2Fonqk?si=XPKwaeVVJZ4fPO8Y&t=153ry
  18. https://youtu.be/63zLK2Fonqk?si=XPKwaeVVJZ4fPO8Y&t=153ry Very good job Tommyboy 0797!
  19. Can't wait to buy & fly it. Such a long journey until they updated it. Hopefully, worth the wait.
  20. I have problems with that function too. If I fly and go to control setup, the tooltips dont pop up. If I then quit the mission, and go into options > controls, then the tooltips are shown. There is something wrong with it.
  21. Ok, I'll see what I can do on that! Tahnks for posting your observations and suggestions!
  22. Updatelog: 2024-11-08, 22:30 UTC ========================= Dear Viggen drivers out there! Regarding the Training Flights, I have some great news again: .) Training flight M190-52-0 / Data entry is now released. .) The theoretical knowledge requirements for Training flight M190-23-4 / Visual landing have been extended by RC2.1 page 146. Happy typing & flying! TOViper
  23. Is this issue being worked on? I mean, it's of course good to have the acknoledgement about the existence of an issue, but you know ... just asking This map is so wonderful, but so unplayable when flying low.
  24. Hey folks! I recently noticed, that the fuel calculation, that is constantly running in the background when the CK37 is active, and which is indicated by the striped "tie" in the fuel indicator, is currently not considering L2 (if it was set). Tip from my side: If you want to have sufficiently enough fuel for your flight, set the fuel needed to fly from L1 to L2 as your general fuel reserve, or even better: add it to the default 10% that are already pre-programmed in the CK. How to obtain the required fuel from L1 to L2: You can determine the fuel required for this leg by entering references for L1 and L2 (e.g. REF LOLA > IN > 9013 for L1 and > 9901 for L2), and then performing the plausibility check. Make a manual visual fix on L1 and then press the LMAL button once to switch to L2. The amount of fuel required for that leg should be read from the striped "tie" and noted, and then added to the fuel reserve (TAKT IN 51xx, where XX is the percentage). This replaces the "default" fuel reserve that is automatically in the CK after power up. If you want to add it to the standard reserve, add 10% to the determined value). That procedure is especially interesting for L2's that are at a large distance from L1 (more than 100km). If you didn't notice this bug since release, it was most probably "obscured" by the internal fuel reserve of 10% and a not-so-far distance between L1 and L2 Sources: SFI chapter "Bränsleberäkningar" and RC2.1 pages 172 & 173.
