This campaign is super well done and an awesome addition to DCS World and I really love it! However Ai flown bf-109's are impossible to shoot down. Its incredibly disappointing to have a 109 trailing both white and black smoke pull up an accelerate vertically into a loop like it has a 2 to 1 thrust ratio. It ruins the total immersion the rest of this campaign brings to the table. Will this ever be fixed?

I almost feel like it would be beneficial if in 2.5, the NTTR was the free map and the Caucuses were the paid DLC that way training for Harriers, Hornets and Tomcats would be in a more realistic (and cool) environment than basic training in the soviet bloc haha. But my guess is thats just a far off wish

I was really interested in the D from a pure aesthetic standpoint, I'm not expecting anything just think that two seat hornets are super good looking

** UPDATE: F-14 Flight Model - Episode I - "The Basics" **
Spudknocker replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Waiting very paitently to blast around Nevada with high Viz VF-111 skins! I'm so excited for this bird! -
I think that these may be settings within the computers on the Harrier, the screenshot and your real photos are in very different lighting situations, so my educated guess would be the pilot can change the color/contrast to be able to see the screens better.

Will the USMC skins for the hornet feature cloth camouflage helmet covers? It's a little thing but I was curious if that is planned. It's pretty standard for USMC pilots to wear these covers on their helmets. I believe it's to pay homage to their infantry brethren that they are flying to support and goes back to every marine a rifleman.

I don't want to cause an uproar here, only wanting to express my idea that I thought would be really cool. I've always loved to look of 2 seat Hornets and Rhinos. I thought it might be neat to have a F/A-18D external model to use even if a full fidelity D model is not in the works. Only an asthetics thing. I really appreciate all the hard work ED is putting into the Charlie I just thought it might be a good avanue to share my idea!

This could be interesting! I have always hoped that ED or anyone else making RED FLAG campaigns would use F-16's, F/A-18's, F-15's and F-5's as the bandits instead of actual Flankers, Fulcrums and Fishbeds (Oh my!) It would even be very cool once we get heatblur's F-14's to use Tomcats as aggressor Allycats or MiG-25's!

Wow definitely some interesting responses to this post. Like others have said there are many many women in military aviation and having their voices represented would simply add to the immersion as well as help my female friends enjoy DCS world more thoroughly. My one friend she currently owns and operates an F8F Bearcat and P-51D Mustang and gets pushback for being a woman and a pilot in real life so I guess its to be expected in the sim environment as well.
-
I agree of course be aircraft are first but it also adds realism to the sim to have varied voices. It would be a very good option that would help retain more people who might like being able to mold their pilot to better represent who they are as a person, even having a couple male voices to choose from would be cool!
-
Hello ED and community! My friend really loves flying in DCS and she was wondering why there aren't options for a female pilot voice over the radio. Is this possible? She knows she's in the minority but we thought it could be cool to have the option to change your pilot's sex and thus his or her voice on the radio. Could be a way to draw more players to the sim!

Radio Option for Increasing Performance
Spudknocker replied to Bunyap's topic in Spitfire LF Mk. IX Operation Epsom Campaign
So when I first bought the Epsom campaign I had an old MoBo and CPU AMD 8350 black ed. and performance was pretty awful, but I upgraded tp a i7-7700K and no more issue! I guess it really comes down to CPU performance more so than video card as I had/have a gtx 1080 for both CPU's. -
How long is the wait time till the order to scramble in mission 4? Is there a certain radio button I'm supposed to be on to get the message? Wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything, would be nice if the briefing told the player how long the wait is so we don't think we've missed something

AMD FX8350 black edition, gtx 1080 SSD's and 16 gb of ram, FPS was around 15-20 with settings at everything high and everything low with visible range at medium, I saw no difference in the stuttering and fps with settings changes, turning on or off deferred shading didn't make a difference either...
-
Ya I took a huge performance hit. It seems really cool but so much stuttering and freezing makes it hard to play. Are there any fixes for this?
-
I really love the look of the D just an external model would be cool!
-
No planned CF-18 Skins? Royal Malaysian Air Force skins would be cool... Semi fictional as they fly the D model but the Dark grey is soooooo Cool!

Opinions on thrustmaster rudder pedals?
Spudknocker replied to Spudknocker's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ya i figures they were about a gliders width apart and definitely narrower than my real p-51d mustang but thanks for the reply... They arent uncomfortably narrow right? Im not the largest person in the world so im sure that would help with that. Thanks! -
Hello! I am wondering if anyone has used the thrustmaster rudder pedals... Im getting kinda tired of flying a mustang with a twist grip haha. Has anyone ever used these? https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Flight-Rudder-Pedals-Playstation/dp/B015PII6YI I know they are cheapo plastic Im just not looking to spend a fortune on rudder pedals Im just wondering if its even worth it with these.

Being around warbirds my whole life I would take a gander and say that DCS in its current form when it comes to WW2 airplanes is more of a "warbird" simulator with guns than a WW2 combat sim if that makes sense to anyone outside of my own mind haha. The performance that I see in DCS P-51D is the same as an antique P-51D Warbird flying today with modern fuels and self imposed/physical restrictions associated with a 21st century Merlin Engine. That being said you can still easily reach 300+ MPH in level flight at say 10 angels by knowing how Manifold pressure and Prop pitch interact with each other. To get fast just like in a real mustang simply pull the RPM back to around 2600 to give the prop more bite on the air and increase throttle to give that prop, that's trying to move more air, more power and thus generate more thrust. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

ive gotten better with the engine management and that has really helped so far with following bandits through their loops, also trusting the ranging controls in the gunsight really helps
-
It has gotten Easier... Ive figured out the tricks haha

Ya Im getting more and more used to it and setting options for the enemy flight that seems to restrict them from making the first move which seems to make it more realistic Sea Fury and Mustang with a teeny tiny amount of time in an L-39... I really need a VR set up that would be cool! HAHA! Im thinking I'll wait for the second Gen goggles
