Was it a hot day?

Are these the interactive tutorial type training missions? If so thanks a ton for making an NTTR set! That will be awesome! Will they be available for the early access? Also on the campaign front I see one hole in the storyline... the UAE has a vast majority of Sunni muslims whereas Iran is mostly Shia Muslims which dont exactly get along, which for me doesn't seem plausible that Emerati pilots would defect to Iran. Also will we have a block 60 Ai F-16 in the future? Just a thought, because Iran already has a plethora of western aircraft F-5's, F-4E's, F-14AM's what if you complemented them with a backdoor gift of Flankers from Russia or China or more advanced fulcrums than their MiG-29A's from Russia. In the red flag campaign you could have Turkish or Greek (or German since its alternate history) F-4 squadrons be invited to act as aggressors simulating Iranian F-4's Also what would you think about having F-16's F-5's and F-15's in aggressor paint be the bad guys in the red flag campaign instead of actual Su-27's and MiG-29's to add to the realism. Thats kinda been a pet peeve of mine in the F-15 Red Flag campaign

Well the original intent of my idea was I know a few women who own, fly and maintain warbirds in real life and love to play DCS and this would make their own enjoyment in the sim go up as well as potentially attract more customers for the sim. I think the stock non-DLC campaign pilot/atc voice overs need an update and I figured it would be a small addition to add female voice overs to the standard radio commands in the comm menu that you could then pick whether your pilot is male or female in the Logbook menu in the GUI. I did not think this would become such a decisive topic and figured it would just be a relatively simple way to add some more value to the game for those who are of the female persuasion haha

While you can do that the water not only increases thrust, it also helps cool that big Pegasus Engine, too much hover time without water and your engine turns into a fireball. Even if you disagree it can still be an option, you just don't need to use it.

Hi RAZBAM, I was curious what are the special options that will be included with the Harrier? I was hoping there would be a potential option for unlimited water while learning how to take off, hover, and land vertically so I could take my time without the added pressure of worrying about water levels. Would there be any other special options available to the harrier?

Hi guys! Heres a question for either ED or a knowledgeable user. How does dynamic weather work? I have tried adding it to a mission or two but im not sure what is going on with it or how to set parameters etc... I have looked for answers and cannot find them. Thanks!
-
I sure hope so! an F-15E in DCS would be the ultimate!!
-
I cannot wait for early access, I have a problem with trying to learn too much at once so having it come out in stages will be kinda good for me so I can master just flying the jet and then get better with weapons employment as new stuff get released. Just like ED/Wags said these stages will let you learn stuff in stages just like real life! Also most live missile shots in training for USN/USAF pilots are using old stocks of AIM-7's not new, expensive AMRAAMs

In the AV-8B, I know there is explosive cord in the canopy, its really one of the more distinctive features of the jet when looking through the canopy. But my question is what is the purpose of this explosive Cord? Does it detonate and shatter the glass on ejection? Or does the Canopy jettison like other jets? Did British harrier II's have this explosive cord in the canopy like their American cousins?
-
There are basically air jets that are at the wingtips, the nose and on the stinger behind the tail, these are used for Pitch, Roll and Yaw while hovering. I believe they are activated under a certain airspeed

I am sure any campaign will be super cool I loved the Mirage campaign! I think training missions would definitely be better on the Nevada map...Its kinda why I think the Nevada map should be the free one. However that will never happen which is fine. That being said being able to choose whether you have your training missions on Nevada or the Caucuses would be very cool. With my playing in the mission editor it doesnt seem like that would be too difficult to port missions to another map... I think people who have paid for the Nevada map would be very grateful to be able to have that extra immersion of having their american aircraft have training on american soil. Not a demand just my two cents!

Are there any sticks on the market that even have FFB?

From what I'm understanding from all the info about the hornet is that all the systems needing to be implemented for the start up sequence are most of the main systems of the F/A-18C. So from what ive gathered is the hornet is closer than it seems. But thats just my guess. From what Ive also read here and elsewhere I would guess they are trying to get 2.5 out by the holiday period- I think doing so would make them see a huge boost in module sales

In my personal experience with modding other flight sims I think going for as realistic as possible lighting seems almost a bit too bland, I think a little artistic license to make things look more saturated or with higher contrast tends to make things look better on our computer screens. That being said I am loving all of the beautiful deep colors in the 2.5 caucuses map!
-
Man I cannot wait for 2.5 and the new Caucuses and this map. I think we are going to see a huge revival of DCS and a influx of new players as well. thanks for all the hard work ED! I am super excited for the future of this awesome product!

Is there any new news on this beautiful bird?
-
I hope training missions are included, that would be a really big help for getting this bird up and goin thats for sure, the handbook is great but I dont think theres any substitute for hand holding training missions
-
Wow that makes a lot of sense! I think I recall that this issue has come up with other types of air frames in European service. European airspace is definitely a lot more confined than across the pond haha
-
One can only hope my new puppy will be mature enough by then to let me have at least a solid hour at a time to play with this new jet!:pilotfly:

In video games, regardless if its flight sims or FPS's or anything in between I tend to prefer snow/winter terrains to have a deep snow/lots of snow look to them to really emphasize that its winter. So I would say lots of snow please!
-
I have not heard that about European hornets... But could that be true due to their lower weight because of lack of certain USN specific equipment/avionics?
-
WOW! Thanks Razbam and ED! I can't wait to start crashing harriers all over Nellis AFB! Does anyone know if the KC-130 and Tarawa will be released with early access?
-
We should definitely have Mk.20 Rockeyes as AV-8's used them extensively in the 1991 Gulf War against the Iraqis, they also employed Mk.77 Firebombs on iraqi troop positions and oil traps so hopefully we will get those too
-
In regards to the idea of 12x GBU's I dont believe this is possible. While GBU-12's are basically modified Mk-82's they require a digital/wired connection to the aircraft, I do not think that the standard USN/USMC/USAF triple ejector racks (Forgotten the designation number) are wired to handle smart bombs. You could carry that many if you want to employ them as dumb bombs without their laser guidance seeker heads functioning properly- but I think that the DOD and lockheed martin would be a little upset that you used their high end gadgetry for such a purpose haha Mk-82's work fine.
