Ahhhh, okay thanks! Sounds like a rally the troops sort of deal. Not sure what bringing flight sims back to glory days means, I feel like now we're finally living the glory days. (with a grain of salt) Kickstarter...the NEW wave of development no doubt.

Already taken off...who was it? What was it?
-
^^^ it will if you have pedals. The Huey has become my fav to fly. The sale is great, huge discounts.

Engine displayes are always soul crushing. Any engine without a heart ( sim to fly in) is IMHO useless. Outerra was in the same boat:... That said, beautiful looking engine.

Understandable, just leave the integrity to ED, I'm sure they don't want to compromise their reputation in the community (they have an audience to loose so thats of greater risk). You know ED specific models won't be compromised so if you doubt third parties just don't buy them or fly in servers that have them enabled. After UH1 my confidence in third parties at this point is high. I still think the higher fidelity aircraft will pillage the lesser fidelity ones by a good plot who knows how to maximize his aircraft systems.

It's a little early for criticism even... it's news and frankly I don't see how it can be spun into bad news. Generally speaking, I don't understand the mind set where news like this can come off to really agitate people. I've seen it with P51 and UH-1 (both of which are AMAZING simulators on their own never mind integrated into DCS world. Those who bash those modules are simply missing out on a great gameplay experience. The flood gates for developers has been opened and comparing that to three years ago where we'd get a module every 3 years is pretty exciting.

Nice Cowboy and thanks for sharing.

Product Type Survey (forum vote)

What's wrong with scalability? :pilotfly: -
Honestly ... Buy it...if you like choppers you will love it. So much fun to fly. Learning it is the best. Expect a learning curve but its hardly impossible. :pilotfly::thumbup:

I'd second that...it's not in any way a tank killer. It's a lightly soft target gunship and troop/utility transport. That said it's still in BETA so assume that things are being tweaked...(although maybe not the hydra's against tanks).

Seems to make sense to me, the f18c will be epic on its release. Lots to play with until then.
-
I like it (change) keeps things interesting...:)...the 15 and 27 are a surprise but I guess seeing the new models and pits...it makes sense :)

So did I, I was almost sure of it, but goes to show how deceptive it can all be ;). Dcs level f15 and 27 will be bad a$$. I don't know if I'll have the brain capacity for dedicated complicated a/a bvr combat...wa hoping to launch some mav's from a fast mover. Challenge accepted.[VV][/VV]

I just started one it pre dates this one by 1/100th of a second.

Did you guys see that announcement for may 3rd? I figured the forums would be swelling for dcs fighters (American and Russian at that).

Super Nintendo games were 79-89 in Canada on the early 90's. these sims are waaaaaaaaay more complex and half the price even with inflation.
-
I disagree, the pricing decision is based on complex mathematical calculations (factoring in profit margins, re-couped costs, licensing etc)...those numbers don't lie I'm afraid, despite what you may think. Have you sen the pricing points for most FSX aircraft that are pretty much a 3D flight model? They're $59-89...this comes with a lot more than just a model. Anyway we're all in different positions, but $49 is hardly a rip off...simulation flying was never cheap, the value you get with all ED modules for the price is plenty fair IMHO. I understand we're not all in the same financial boat, a guy over at Star Citizen dropped $30,000 during the crowd funding campaign.

I had three minutes to fly this morning before leaving for work. Quickly changed my collective to my throttle from slider (X52 default) and made a quick missions where I would start on the runway at Batumi. My first thought is I can't wait to breath life into the engine vs starting ready for takeoff...anyway, 2mins 05 seconds to fly... I gently pull on the collective anticipating the swing of the tail rotor, pop up into a relatively controlled hover (not really)...i gently push forward on the stick controlling my collective and rudders and I made a sloppy move into transitional flight...phew...that was tough, going to need some practice for sure. Cruising with the bird was steady and I made a slow circuit and brought her into land. As my airspeed slowed I tried my best to control where I wanted her to go vs where she wanted to go. Once out of transitional flight once again I found myself feeling out of control. I managed to set her down relatively gently, but there was a few miliseconds before touching down my co-pilot was probably wetting himself. Touch down and exit....honestly it was 3 minutes, I enjoyed every second of it. Unfortunately Belsimtek has rendered the other DCS modules (at this point at least) useless on my computer, I'm going to be spending lots of time with this bird. Well done Belsimtek.

same boat as you mate.

Here, still at work though.

I think it was stated that was the response in a training video? I Can't be sure right now though. Also a dual rotor helo will probably handle differently than a four rotor helo? No?

Same, 8 hours, but my auto updater wouldn't detect upgrade before I left (tried various times from 6:30am until 8:00am. Usually happens with updates, unfortunately it pains me more this time as I could have it finished come home time. Everything else is lined up behind it.

Nice, I can expect to be the same...I was mentally attempting to make corrections watching, felt like my results would mirror yours :).

That would be amazing, +1's even for the offer...honestly no pressure. Fly to your hearts content and when I get online show me some moves ha! :pilotfly:
