  1. I've been meaning to see if that was modelled. Figured it probably was...good to know it is ;).
  2. Shot in the dark, but are the bombs armed? If they're not armed they won't detonate. ?? I hope this doesn't come across an IT checklist "is the computer plugged in?". Apart from that, I'm clueless mate.
  3. Wow, very impressed. Need to start paying more attention to this.
  4. These guys should develop for DCS. All their warbirds would be nice additions ;)
  5. Would love a hind or 28 (the latter being difficult possibly with some classified specs. Combat helo dude might want to look at the 64A for Ed once he's finished his pet project ;).
  6. I'd recommend the 51 ;). It has improved my GAU gun runs indefinitely in the A-10 as well as my conservation and use of energy ;). Maybe wait for a sale if you're not super keen on it, but it's an amazing flying experience.
  7. The super high frames per second may be due to the fact the world is empty and it's just running the camera. No AI, physics, etc going on at the same time. I could be wrong, and so what if I am...I'm also feeling the need :) Shots look great!
  8. I was excited about the 51, but the reality of it is actually far more thrilling. I really didn't think it would have been this much to fun and fight in this bird. I've flown the A2A version and it's great, but without a world of war (despite the ERA) to sharpen my teeth in, its just not the same. The way the 51 handles is also amazing, I LOVE the stability at lower speeds makes landing more challenging. I love the fact I have to look at my instruments constantly to monitor everything (soon to be temps) but airspeed, heading etc. Also make my rout planning more like real world where I'll study the various landmarks to help with navi as there is no waypoint computer to rely on. I love it...and it's only beta.
  9. Well aren't you a bucket of peaches. :music_whistling:
  10. I'm really enjoying flying it...actually "flying it". Paying attention to my various instruments saving my engine for when the fight begins (where I'll push it). Love the energy management as well...taking off and landing after/before a mission brings a natural sense of jeopardy I don't get when landing the Hog or the KA. (not that landing the latter two is a write off.)
  11. I know that zig zag well, and the hopeful feeling that goes with it you've got enough airspeed to get the plane off the ground......"c'mon, rotate, rotate damnit".
  12. Are you enlighten yet? ;)
  13. Looking forward to this...if you think you're close enough, GET CLOSER! ;)
  14. Opinion is one thing, moaning and cursing (25T thread) is trolling. I am very thankful, virtual flight has never been so satisfying for me and I've played a lot of flight sims.
  15. If you run out you can always contact them for more. Proof of purchase is logged.
  16. Hey guys, I'm curious if anyone can point me to where I can find/purchase some high quality P47 sound fx for a doc series I'm editing. I'm taking personal responsibility in ensuring the correct engine/50 cal sound fx for the P47 and would love to get my hands on some high quality fx. I'm willing to purchase them if they can be used commercially. Flyby's, in cockpit, engine starts, machine gun fire etc. Thanks in advance!
  17. Runs a bit better for me as well, will most likely improve though at final.
  18. I feel the direction of the series will even appeal to aviation hobbiests (not just the combat sim crowd) as its a virtual and collectible product. I happen to love air combat in a sim, but the virtual experience with these planes (no matter the airframe) is something else. Its like having a fly able model aircraft collection where everyone with similar interests can get together and play, serious or fantasy. It's pretty humbling to see some of those admit their initial reactions to the news were a a bit premature. Don't get much of that on the Internet and in game forums period. :)
  19. P51 with 109 skin. Time to break out the profile cards ;) Gives you an idea some of the visual cues pilots of that time had to contend with. 109 and 51 have a somewhat similar profile.
  20. Walk away from the plane maybe, but your ground crew would probably punch your lights out for the amount of work yo just caused him (or her) ;)
  21. Flew it last night for all of 20 mins. I'm personally surprised how well it performs in beta on my aging computer. Technical surprises aside......my GOD how much I love this module. During setup I switched directly to realistic and thought I turned off the takeoff aides (didn't drop the slider to 0% after clicking off the assist. My first takeoff was perfect (thanks to the assist)...I figured something had to be wrong...exited out before rotating. Slider off... Takeoff #2. Trimmed rudder to takeoff position and slowly pushed the throttle forward slowly...noticed immediately the difference, but was able to keep her under satisfactory control (not picture perfect by any means)...I sigh of relief as I rotated smoothly away from the runway. Can't wait to see what it's like with drop tanks and rockets/drop tank. There is so much to learn, especially in the combat area, I still have some serious hotas mapping to do, but looking forward to the following few weeks/months/years...mastering another DCS bird. Love the DCS World by the way, visions coming to fruition. Congrats ED on the release.
  22. So even with rudder trimmed for takeoff she's a bucking pony on the runway? Is it just a matter of muscle memory or is she as wild as thy come? I'm a good few days from playing so I'll live vicariously through you guys. Also I heard a rumor of a 190 opponent ?? Saw a 109 model on the tarmack in the flight demo....confirm?
  23. Good forum... Use whatever means necessary ;)...especially if you can get from point a to b without f10 ;) :joystick:
