Actually, they can be useful even in combat, however you have to be extra careful just wait for the right moment.... Or you can use them in a COIN sort of mission, light targets and else.... Or even as combat units between third world countries, you just need to play a bit with mission editors

No matter, as long as we get some migs, even with a baad BVR capabilities are still better than none at all, but being fully honest i prefer Su 22 or the likes, in order to have a simmed fighter-bomber however, Mig or Sukhoi is wellcome, even yakovlevs!!

II know, the man with fedora hat is looking odd at me right now.... I know there's problems with more modern, stuff like fulcrums and else, but i don't see the point of such secretism wit passed out aircraft like the 23 or the Su-17/22. FISHBED IS AWESOME!

Pity, anything from the east is wellcome, simming community are already overloaded with western jets (how many sims of F-15, F-16, etc ) are over there? Plenty! Now, slowly, we're beggining to see real simmed soviet planes (FC3 ones do not count), but this part nnees a lot more attention. At least we also have various european planes which are quite unique by themselves.

Well while i like a lot the current FM its obvious that inertia is almost unexistant, at high speed seems you are flying in deep space, fortunately Dolphin stated they are fixing that....untill then , lets enjoy our A-Wing. The real thing is.... How long after the fix is done will ED update it?? :D

Well that's right too, i dunno what is the reason dogfights are happening in a so low altitude. I'm new in DCS so no idea how it happened. In certain other sim where i play too odd are the aerial combats below 10.000-15.000 feet... and usually they go that low due to defensive maneuvers

Actually fishbed should be better flying low. Radar scans front-up and the radar screen shows moreso the same view from the cockpit, actually you should be able to lock an IR missile without looking at the piper, you can do the same immelman-shoot maneuver, even better you can iff the contact without lock, so you can concentrate in the maneuver itself

There's a good reason to use the r3r upont F15 and any other superior generation aircraft in a head on fight, besides what has been told here about thet is the only real all aspect missile... as soon you lock on it, the RWR will beep, to be sustituted for a big ass M upon your number. If the pilot is relatively cautious will maneuver hard to defensive. R3r has enough charge to blow it up, so its a measure of pressure and with a bit of luck the enemy plane will lose track on you.... and you'll be close enough meanwhile to turn on IR, as what really excels the fishbed is speed.... However, do not try this, unless you are many more or there's some fulcrums or flankers between them and you :D

Adding the lancer can be one solution at the classical problem of simming more modern soviet/russin jets... With the same airframe... Two in one, double the better
