  1. I'll just leave here a mod I just released of the ASI dialed in knots, so we'll be able to follow the actual checklist provided (I know it's a different version but the numbers should work) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335646/
  2. Battle of Britain in DCS is my wet dream, as is a Malta map (not necessarily with Sicily or North Africa, even the small island would be awesome for cool campaigns) but I think a late p-38 model is the most logical next step. Served heavily in both theatres, it’s not the usual single seat single engine fighter, so offers a bit of diversity, and concludes the ww2 American trio.
  3. I will repost on bugs and problems with a track, I just wanted first to make sure that it wasn’t some obvious mistake from my part or I wasn’t understanding something in the systems.
  4. Ok I did some tests and found what was happening: Cruising at high speed in winter leads the coolant temperature to drop to 60°, and the oil pressure to rise above limits (and tht's what eventually kills the engine) even though the oil temperature stays at 80° (which is weird because the increase in oil pressure should be the outcome of the low oil temperature and not related to the coolant temperature I guess)
  5. There is one thing I don’t get from the engine damage modeling. I can stay at full throttle during dogfights for quite a while, keeping an eye on oil and water temps, but if I stay at full throttle at high speed for more than 1/2 minutes the engine breaks down. At around 320 mph, full throttle and max rpm, sea level, everything looks normal for around one minute, temperatures are perfect (oil around 80 degrees) until there always is a small thump and the oil temperature quickly rises (even with the throttle at idle at this point) and after reaching 105 degrees the engine cooks and grips. Any idea why this is happening?
  6. Thanks! I will definetely check them out, I might skip Walls came tumbling down though
  7. Operation Cargthage was another really cool one, I'm afraid I might be the one hitting the school, I read a bit on it but again I would love to find something more. Mission 9 was a blast, precision low level flying, with the help of the navigator my bombs blew up right when the train was on the bridge, even though the bridge didn't collapse, on the positive side I bagged one 190 before the thunderbolts saved us. I expected mission 10 to be a boring one, but oh boy I was wrong, I didn't reach cruising altitude by the french coast so running away from the huns was really thrilling, full throttle hoping for the best. On the way to destroy the uboat! (which unfortunately survived) The last mission was my least favorite (not a bad one though) I don't know it just didn't click Overall a really good campaign, loved the interactions with the navigator and his help, Keep it up!
  8. I finished V for Victory a few days ago and I would like to write down my feelings about it. It surely is another superb campaign, it may lack the "realistic" factor of others like "beware beware", expecially jumping from role to role, but makes up in gameplay, I loved trying all this different roles and flying missions that made ww2 history. I would love to see you take another go at the mossie but I understand it's not in the plans unfortunately. Following some pics (SPOILER) Mission one really sets the mood, bad weather over the sea is never pleasant. It really gives you the idea of those boring patrols over the convoys that in reality lasted fo hours. I would just like to point out that with the weather moving the convoy got engulfed in the clouds at some point making it impossible to patrol over it. nullMission 2 was awesome, learning about the night procedures and the OBOE system was really something new and fresh in DCS. Also briliant idea to implement the photoflash. I had to refly mission 4 several times because I kept clipping the trees with my propellers, really a challenging one but a good school on low level flak avoidance for the future missions. I was worried about mission 4 with the night lighting problem, but I was able to wasily spot the junkers and shoot them down before running home (standard gamma 2.2, I guess with different screens gamma increase it's not necessary) Ramrod 564, I vaguely knew about it, and I'd really like to find something to read on Now the PR mission was my favourite, not everything has to be about blowing stuff up! loved the "gameplay" implemantation. On the other hand, blowing stuff is also fun, had to refly mission 7 a few times as well before learning to really kick that rudder to avoid those green streems flooding your way! On the way back I refused to intercept the V-1 because by the time I was flying over the channel I was quite shot up with a nasty oil leak.
  9. With the new PTO in the works can we expect the ETO to still have a future with the asset pack expanding, and maybe some new flyable aircraft or will all the focus be on the PTO from now on?
  10. Will the lack of limits for the head position be addressed? At the moment with head tracking we just go through the window unlike in other modules.
  11. I get your point… whatever is in your plans will be cool anyways. Btw, what’s the problem with the mossie elevator?
  12. Have you ever considered making a mosquito night fighter campaign? I love your campaigns, especially the ww2 stuff; I'm halfway trough V for Victory and I'm loving it, but I'm already in despair when it will finish ahahahah. Since lately you are approaching new ww2 campaigns in an even more realistic and less hollywood style (as you say) way, have you ever considered a realistic night fighter campaign? I read an awesome book on this, I really recommend it: Cover of Darkness, which is the story of a pilot that went from night fighter pilot training to developing radar intercept tactics for the RAF. I know we don't have a radar equipped Mossie but the radar work is done entirely by the navigator, which talks the pilot through the intercept, (and this could be set up with triggers, even though it would probably be quite complicated, I don't know if the ME or any scripting engine is able to work out your position relative to a plane, maybe with moving trigger zones or something like that). Anyways, just an idea, worst case scenario I just recommended you an awesome book. Btw, any long term plans for something new for the spit? maybe something polish?
  13. Not the top priority, but it would be really cool to have some water ditching physics and the possibility to eject or egress on water without dying, especially for warbirds and helos.
  14. I know it's asking a lot, but since the stop following command bug seems is not gonna go away for some time, would you consider building some safety triggers in your campaigns? (like i.e. in ground pounders kerman campaign). Something like if it doesn't work for 5 minutes then despawn and respown or just proceed with the mission or some f10 options). I realize it would probably take a lot of work but your campaigns have been unplayable for more than a year now for some of us. Just to be clear I have no mods, the bug happens 100% of the times both in MT and normal version. Tried also several times with a slow repair.
  15. Almost everything was flying out of Italy. Aviano, Ghedi, Istrana, Gioia del Colle and Grazzanise were the main ones. Only exception that I am aware of are a few hornets that were operating from Hungary.
  16. They also said the map will have a sea separating red and blue forces. Everything points to Balkan. Baltics by orbx would be great though
  17. Of course you can, I'd be honored! I'll let you know How I like it then. Great news about the phantom, that was gonna be my next question
  18. Now to the fun part, Deployment! Alert 5 Top Gun vibes... On the way to blow up some chinese ships A Tomcat wall would've been quite something to witness And for the <profanity> hot brake Bolter Bolter Bolter Quite a daring strike (you can see mi vertical stab peppered with fragments from a MiG-21's atoll that exploded in my proximity, luckily no lights or failures) And Finally home
  19. As per title, loved every bit of this campaign, really immersive and super realistic! So reflected, just a huge Thank you, Do you have any other F-14 campaign in mind or your trilogy is complete? I will now re play Zone 5 (with the new updates) and then play Fear the bones. But this so far, alongside with Beware! Beware! was my favorite DCS experience. I'll leave a few shots of the camapign. Good Ol' times at Nellis A/G practice Two and four ship A/A And with tha Carrier Quals training is complete Here's the grade sheet (the number on the side is the attempt, only retraid if I got below average)
  20. Here in Italy I don't think I've ever seen a multiple ship formation do single take offs, always in pairs.
  21. Please let your wingman take off with you, I'm pretty sure pair take off is the norm, so let the AI take off with you even if you are not starting from the runway (which is the only method now)
  22. No no mods. I will do what you suggest and skip mission 2. Just an advice though: I have both raven one and raven one dominant fury. Read the first book and almost finished raven one once a few years ago. Would you suggest waiting for your update to raven one dominant fury and play that before replaying raven one or the opposite? Thanks!
  23. PLease add the kneeboard keybindings for the new shortcut system.
  24. Hopefully they'll fix it. I don't know if it can be of any help but I noticed that I don't always have this problem. Let me explain better: For example in mission 2 smoke always stops following me and refuels correctly, but never stops following me to take the cutaway (maybe it's a different command). I have the same problem with ottoman courier mission 2, where the wingman doesn't detach to drop his bombs. I could open that mission in mission editor and the problem seems to be the ai task push:switch waypoint function not the stop following command. I wouldn't say to have a low end pc, i run everything at max in 4k at 60fps, maybe I am capping the cpu though. Still thanks for your time, I hope I'll have a chance to play your campaign properly again because they rock.
