The hardest thing for me is reading the tini tiny guages, then trying to get level flight happening by trimming, it is either climbing or diving and my goodness don't think about rolling a little for a bank turn with the Warthog Hotas, The roll rate is like 120 degrees a second, so I have to constantly use autopilot just to get stable flight.

F-4 Phantom Campaign announcement: 'Red Flag 81-2'
tusler replied to Reflected's topic in Community News
I suck at all the stuff he mentioned but I'll get the campaign cause it sound like a lot of fun in the F4. -
Yea, I thought I was the only one with this issue, I cannot accurately see the VSI when descending, by the time it is large enough for me to see I am descending way to fast. is there a way to put a MFD page on a second monitor and enlarge it that way? or a mod to make the VSI a + or - decimal number text large enough to see would work.

I am trying the Through the Inferno Afghanistan single player, I went into mission editor and put in a CH-47F, named it the same way other helo's are named. When I go to the F10 menu I have all the menus including CSAR but CTLD is not there. It is present in the other Helo's. How do i put it in the CH-47F? I am not a programmer at all, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks very much, I have been reading the pre release manual and thought that was all there is. I will get the new one and start reading it. Thanks for the good info...What a great community.

Does the Ch-47 have a autopilot? How does it work? I just tried online to fly between Farps and all it was doing was constantly porpoising, I hit the trim repeatedly, tried holding trim until I stabilized flight then let it go, nothing seemed to matter much, I was constantly having to put pitch changes into cyclic. It was great to hover and land but not fly. Thanks for the input I know you guys will give.

The old "E" model would be fine and since you have experience programing heavy lift helicopters maybe this would be possible. https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=826842205928380

I remember seeing these parked next to where we parked our CH-53E helicopters in the gulf war. They were tiny, I noticed you would not need the heavy slings and gear to work on these like we had to have on the 53. The intermediate gearbox was so small I could have taken it off with just my hands, which means a bullet will take it out. I got to talk to one of the pilots who was flying night time recon and he said they flew 60x60: 60 knots at 60 feet off the ground. It was like a sports car.

Yep, I agree about too sensitive, I am running a warthog, all stock no software, I have input curves, tried what i could, it will not fly level for me and if I get it as close as I can and let go of the stick to look in the cockpit, it is in a increasing bank when i look up. Might have been how the real acft flew and pilots had to feel the seat of the pants thing which we can not do in a sim, but it is no fun for me in a game. I am flying with 2 fuel tanks on and 4 Aim9's on.

Don't feel alone bro, I have the same issue, it is either climbing or diving, I can never get the VSi to stay still,if I look down in the cockpit looking for air speed or something when i look back up I am in a 60 degree bank either left or right. I use a warthog setup and with other modules all is ok. The lag between aircraft pitch and VSI movement makes the gauge worthless for me, from what I'm seeing this was a truly fly by the seat of your pants aircraft and that is not possible in a simulator.

First ever DCS: F-4E Phantom II Feedback Thread - May 22nd 2024
tusler replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I setup a little nellis intro, so I could get up and navigate and land with 8 waypoints. I used Autostart to start the plane, at the end of autostart the canopies are still open. I thought maybe I have to line up on the runway. The chocks have been removed and electrical and airsource, the plane will not move unless I have 100% thrust. What am I doing wrong? I figured out I have to invert my brake pedals, so It moves now correctly. F4E-Info-Nav.miz -

If I can hover long enough to get one on a sling load without being blown out of the sky by a hand held SAM I'll be happy LoL

I will buy it as soon as it is available but not preorder.

Elvator trim does not seem to do its job
tusler replied to Uriah_'s topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Ok I found the problem in settings there is a helper that needs to be turned off for trim to function. Its called "Simplified flight model" It use to be called easy flight I guess they changed it. -
Elvator trim does not seem to do its job
tusler replied to Uriah_'s topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I too have the same problem, I am in sim mode, I have full down elevator trim and the plane climbs at 4k, no way it is flyable like this. I am using aThrustmaster Warthog stick and throttle. -

DCC - Dynamic Campaign (Digital Crew Chief)
tusler replied to Kilcekru's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
In the Ah-64 if I create a mission in the editor and start the mission from the front seat, George starts up the helo, hovers, flys right and eveything works like it's suppose to. But when I start a campaign in DCC and generate a mission, then go into the AH-64, everything is loaded and works, I get into the front seat and when I tell George to lift off , He goes up to the alt and flys all over, sideways, backwards like he is drunk trying to hover. Anyone know why? Even flying at 40 knots he is all over the sky. -
Check out these RC Jet videos with vector thrust, it's insane...
