  1. This normal vibration and almost all helicopters go through it at a certain speed when they transition from flight to hover. Check this out:
  2. This is why when I am taking part in Riots, Murder and all sorts of Mayhem I bring my Linux laptop with me LoL
  3. I tried DCS Liberation 4.0 with the Hind, the default weapons set it loaded, when I get in the air, gear up, turn on the switches in pilots pit to arm everything then I click up Petrovich to have him arm the missiles and all he ever says is "Weapons are disabled". Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this. Petrovich works fine when I create my own missions and in multiplayer.
  4. I agree, thats what I've been doing, unplug, select I have no internet, select limited setup then later reconnect internet.
  5. Plus there is a whole bunch of aerodynamic stuff going on cause the main rotor disk in flight is never flat and the tail is also putting a twisting motion on the airframe. look at the tail rotor on a ch-53e and it does all kinds of things besides just push the tail around.
  6. Hi Fri13, I have fixed many peoples computers and installed windows 10 on older systems. I never use a Microsoft account. The only thing required is a authorized copy of windows that is registered by a Windows Key. For instance I setup Win 10 on a machine that was Win 7 or 8, I install windows 10, disconnect the internet, set it as local account only. Select I have no key code, after the installation is done, I connect to the internet (not Microsoft) and the digital license is automatically applied and windows 10 is activated. At no time is a Microsoft personal account needed. I have been building systems like this since Windows 10 first came out.
  7. Yes I read that article also and since I and many of my clients prefer to have a local administrator account and not be signed into MS. I found another article where the guy told the home version it was on a domain during the install, and then he was able to setup a local admin account. I am sure there will be around what ever they try to force on us with Win 11.
  8. The folks using DCS on steam have the right idea, since steam will work just fine on linux loaded on fast hardware. They don't care what Windows is doing.
  9. Since I have glued my eyes to the VSI during decent and modulate the collective between 0 and -2 m I have not had a VRS problem. I wish the dev's could give us a VSI HUD so when we looked around we could always see the VSI gauge. That would be very helpful.
  10. Thanks Relic, what I like doing is CSAR and with the hind trying too fish a pilot out of water proved very interesting. I was able to figure it out but it requires some very quick adjustment and precise collective flying.
  11. The Hind for me will get into VRS real quick and unlike the MI-8 I do not notice any warning vib's or clues it is happening. It is heavy and while I was looking out the window, next thing I know I am sinking like a rock. I wish there was an option to put the VSI in my view while looking out the window as I approach the landing spot. Rolling landings are easy but pull this bird back into a hover at 60 feet or so and try to descend straight down and I have my hands full until I get into ground effect. It is a fantastic module though!
  12. For some of you like me who are learning not to pull back on the stick to far or the Hind will fall out of the sky. This guy gives a great lesson on why that is happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zclE250HJFI
  13. wowbagger- Thanks for the info it help alot!
  14. I am lost , guess I'll have to watch lots of videos. I started the Hind and was taxing, I noticed when I went to operators seat helicopter went crazy, went back to pilots seat everything is ok. Then I noticed the control stick. wth? the pilots stick is fine but I don't know what to do with the operator stick?
  15. No yanking collective in this one, all the movements have to be slow and methodical, giving everything time to respond is what I have noticed.
  16. I had the same thing happen today, it's up to the guys running the server to let us swap positions, they can lock it out so only 2 people doing multiplayer can crew the acft.
  17. The thing I noticed is compared to the other Helo's, the Hind feels (appears) very smooth, not jerky like the Mi-8, it gives the illusion of piloting a lot of weight and it has a lot of mass so it takes time to get moving and time to get it slowed down. I find I have to think way ahead of the acft because the input takes a while to take effect. I tried yanking and banking to drop off some troop, well wrong idea, this takes tactical planning and precision. I am glad I bought it.
  18. I'm going to fly around on multiplayer server and get shot down by fixed wings like I do now when I take a helo out to drop troops or do CSAR. LoL
  19. I was very impressed with how you brought the nose up for decel and kept the vsi rock solid. I usually start climbing when I try that or when I bring the collective down (using warthog) I wind up descending way to fast. Bravo
  20. If I remember correctly the Russians got their ass handed to them in Afghanistan by troops with stinger missiles https://weaponsandwarfare.com/2019/08/18/soviet-aircraft-shot-down-by-stingers/ So I would be really interested to learn some tactics to prevent this in DCS
  21. So weird hearing Local ATC traffic while the guys are shooting at targets with missles.
  22. I hope it is alot better than the MI-8, it seems like once I get around ground forces a bb gun can one shot the thing out of the sky LoL.
  23. I'm not sure but if you click the three dots to the right you could edit to say sorry wrong post or something like that.
  24. Fri13, I imagined (incorrectly) that since the Mi-8 frequently looses rotor speed to the point of dropping generators when you grab collective that it was a function of reduced power compared to other heli's built around the same era but after viewing the spec's I see it is more of a difference in how the acft are constructed and the mechanics operate than a power issue. U.S . puts generators and pumps on accessory gearboxes instead of main trans on large cargo birds, I'm just use to H-53's where unless extremely loaded heavy there was always an abundance of power. I see the MI-8 for it's time back in 1967 had 2,400 shaft horse power engine's which was far more powerful than HH3 or Sh3. I stand corrected.
  25. Fri13 Thanks for the info, I never cease to learn on these forums. Makes sense why the KA50 is built like it is. I am wondering if the Hind is going to be a underpowered acft like the HH-3, or the SH-3 or the MI-8 is, I know it is fast once it gets moving but power wise I really wish someone would make a module of the H-53 series or the CH-47
