Cartoon Helicopter Network Podcast Episode 1
tusler replied to 16AGR_Darkwood's topic in Community News
Thanks for considering the change. The names could still be along the top of the screen, even create an old style moving banner about size 16 or 18 font moving across the top of the screen with Names and info on it. -
Cartoon Helicopter Network Podcast Episode 1
tusler replied to 16AGR_Darkwood's topic in Community News
The background showing with Helo's flying around is really great and would be fun to watch while listening to the talk show but the giant Placards with names and a little drawing on them are blocking the view. Please get rid of the name placards after the pod cast starts. -
DCC - Dynamic Campaign (Digital Crew Chief)
tusler replied to Kilcekru's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I created a mission with DCC and when I launch it in DCS it say Insufficient Library's to run State.lua . The mission runs anyway and I usually get shot down in the AH64. I was just wondering what the error means. Update: I figured it out. The Lua file has to be set for persistence after each update, I forgot about that. I put the changes in according to the manual and it works Great program, very easy to use and intuitive. Thanks -
If I was the guy on the ground, I would be like ...Stop your yappin and kill these guys already LoL What a great video, with good suspense. Thanks

Thanks for the help, I will put them to good use

I tried the startup tutorial a few times but got hung up on INS stuff because the labels are different in the english cockpit, so I just made a simple mission in editor, did the "let the system start it up" and I took off and flew around and landed. Now I have to learn what HOTAS buttons to program and what the function of those buttons are or at least how they work to drop a bomb or whatever. It seems like a overwhelming undertaking, I will start watching videos and taking notes I guess.

I was looking for something to watch on Prime and ran across a old AIrForce 1950,60's series called Steve Canyon. It is actual flying missions flown by the AirForce that were declassified. What fun watching F102's and F100's flying in just the first 2 episodes, and it's free if you have Prime.

I get this thumping sound also, I have noticed the thumping sound is in complete synch with the radar sweep left then right, the thump happens everytime the sweep hits the corner of the display. I guess maint. needs to adjust the stops on the radar LoL.

When I am flying online if I want to do a CSAR miz and I want to get the menu to tell the pilot to pop smoke The keyboard key does not work while I am flying. If I land it works fine. Anyone know how to make it work in flight?

With my system I also noticed a difference. I5-9600, RTX 2060 Super, 32 gig ram, and a SSD. When I use the HT the AH-64 responds much sooner to stick input than it did before. There use to be a slight lag that I did not perceive as I learned to fly it I just compensated. Now there is no more lag that I notice anyway.

Steel Jaw One fundamental issue not discussed here is that the Hornet is single seat so you’re able to do everything whereas the Mudhen is gonna need 2 humans to be really effective. Which is why I don’t fly the longbow I bought. From what I have read in the F15E forum, the pilot will be able to do everything the wiso can do. So unlike the Ah64 and the F14 I will be able to solo fly the Strike Eagle effectively without needing another person.. Scott56 Not even that. RAZBAM have confirmed that the handful of startup functions that have to be performed by the WSO will have pilot seat keybinds. Full functionality will be available from the pilot seat. This is a massive difference between the F15E and other two seat modules which YoYo keeps avoiding.

According to this IRL F15E pilot the F/A18C will have problems... https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-basic-difference-s-between-F-15-Eagle-and-F-15E-Strike-Eagle#:~:text=What is the difference between, has a darker paint job. Shari Williams Professional aviatrix.Upvoted by Tim Hibbetts , F/A-18C pilotAuthor has 697 answers and 1.7M answer viewsUpdated Sep 5 Related How does the F-15/F-16 compare to the F-18 in a dogfight? Never flew the F-16 against the F-18. Like most fights it often comes down to experience. The F-15 can out turn the F-18 above 350 kts, the F-18 has an advantage below 350kts. Where the F-18 really suffers is drag and power. In the Eagle I never had a problem getting slow with a Hornet, I could fly my plane around 100kts and keep up with he Hornet, the advantage I enjoyed was power, even slow I could out climb and out power the Hornet. In more of an ACM environment, when we accelerated we could pick up 100kts in 3 sec or so, the Hornet would picked up around 60 kts, over time I would have the speed and power to exploit the vertical or out rate the Hornet. Now, if an Eagle pilot is not good at slow speed fights, they will lose to a good Hornet pilot….quickly. When I had about 700 hours in the Eagle I went out with my flight lead and we did a 2v2 with Hornets, after two longer range setups(35–40nm), we had enough gas to do a 2v2 visual butterfly setup(full up for both planes), with post merge kills. A fight that should in theory favor the Hornet. My flight lead died 5 seconds after the merge(he turned the wrong way). So I was left to fight 2 Hornets. The fight that transitioned from a close in turning fight, to a more expanded fight, a vertical fight and back to a turning fight many times over. I slowly worked my energy up, expanding the fight to get weapons separation, and shot one Hornet, then proceeded to kill the second one at the floor with the gun. I truly think they believed they had me dead to rights after my flight lead died. That there was no way they could lose. They were wrong. Good times!

According to the professionals I found this about F15E vs F18C From: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-basic-difference-s-between-F-15-Eagle-and-F-15E-Strike-Eagle#:~:text=What is the difference between, has a darker paint job. I remember watching Tornado's take off from Bahrain Airport when I was there in 90 and 91. I also remember hearing a Viper pilot after hostilities had begun talking about how the Brit's would come fast and low when bombing a runway and pull up in the vertical when coming off target which made them a great target for air defense. The pilot said they were crazy with a capital c.

Having the same problem. Thanks for posting.

Wow seeing the size of this forum on takeoff I don't feel so bad now about crashing the first 22 tries to get it off the ground. LoL

Is there a new key bind? Disregard This post I found it its Hold Mode
tusler replied to tusler's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Thanks -
I recently was watching a video where the subject was the new position hold function for the AH-64. I saw that it did a terrific job of holding lateral position when engaged under 5 knots. What is the key bind so I can bind a button on my Hotas for this new nifty help me hover better tool? I looked through all the keybind list in game and was hoping to see something like "Position Hold" but was not that lucky. Thanks in advance.

I agree something needs to be done since George as CPG has no Idea of the difference between Enemy and friendly aircraft, equipment and troops.
-
Thanks for this heads up, Great Find!
-
Yes absolutely, I have found there are many mission I have for the Hind and the KA-50 that other people have made and I go in and put the Apache in place of the helo's and it works great.
-
The real problem I have is when I am returning from a mission and coming in to hover land and the thing get squirmy, I cannot eject LoL

Kneeboards for AH-64D for guided/unguided weapon employment
tusler replied to 609_Relentov's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Thanks the kneeboards are awesome! now when they get the trim fixed so I can hover like george does, I'll be able to read them with my head down in the cockpit while I am setting stuff up LoL
