From what I've read the Hind and the KA50 have the same top speed. I would think the KA50 is more maneuverable. I am really trying to find a reason to buy the Hind as a solo pilot but it seems the biggest reason maybe multi-crew in multiplayer might be the Hind's niche market. I could see it being a bunch of fun if the AI pilot is good, I would like being the gunner...Time will tell. I will probably have to buy it just to support the module builders anyway!

Newbie on Mi-8 requesting hints and tips ...
tusler replied to TOViper's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I have been flying the MI-8 since it was available and I still get caught in VRS if I try to come in and hover out of ground effect with the warthog throttle for collective I can forget about it, so what I have to do is come in low to the ground and ease it back to a hover without ballooning and wind up in ground effect hover. Of course this does not work if you have to hover above trees or come down in between high buildings, then I usually wind up setting it down hard at a minimum. The other helicopters are no problem at all, just zip in and hover and bring them down. Still love the MI-8 though. When you get into VRS if you have the altitude tip the nose down and get it moving forward and you can fly out of it. -
Who will win the race between the Mi-24 and the OH-58?
tusler replied to Razorback's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
I guess you did not get what I was saying, or you never played Gunship... I would've paid anything back then for a helo with FM as good as the Gazelle, which is meaning compared to what we have today it was total crap back then even if compared to the Gazelle which I think FM wise is at the bottom of the pile It was a poor attempt at sarcasm. -

I plan to buy all the helo's as they are released, I just love flying around for CSAR or fun and I really enjoy the difference in flight models between them. I remember back when Gunship first came out and then Janes, later Gunship 2 I would've paid anything back then for a helo with FM as good as the Gazelle, and nowadays we have so much great stuff to pick from we are spoiled and picky LoL -
You misunderstand, I am not having any problems at all, I was suggesting Lee1 give it a try since it has worked for me in the past when I had other problems. Sorry I should've made myself clearer.

Could it be a win 10 permissions thing, sometimes I open folder security and put access to everyone and that fixes alot of things.

I went to log in this morning and was told I was permanently banned. I have been here since they first started and have never been banned or had any problems. the only thing I did different was I selected for the log in to remember me. well I logged out and then logged back in and it is working. That was weird.

In the early days of dcs we would delete the files that have all the bindings and start over from scratch.

I have no idea about any of the technicalities but I do know ED has always done us right, they have never scammed me on any of the modules even when 3rd party that created the module had big problems, I am sure ED will take care of me and continue to do business with the highest regard to customer service I have learned to expect so I guess it's Don't Worry, Be happy...lets go flying :)

I second the motion!:smartass:

Was it really as easy to stall while landing as it is in DCS?
-
Glad I'm not the only one with this problem, I'm sure they will hot fix it.

Yea I figured it's a early access thing when I took off and ran the dog out of the engine and it never locked up or quit, if I tried the same with the P51 the engine would have quit in about 30 seconds. :)

Not complaining or nothing I really like this plane, but it takes like 15 to 20 min to warm up the oil, wow. I see why they use to let crewchiefs or plane captains start these up and warm them up for the pilots. Now try idling a P40 on the ground that long lol.

If your running SRS or other background program I have found sometimes I have to click in the middle of the screen anywhere to select it and then the buttons work for me.

Open a support ticket with EagleDynamics and they will help you out, the admins have to unlink the key from your account before you can gift them. -

You Guys are the Greatest! Thanks for great customer care and support!

+1 on creating the sim I always dreamed of and making it affordable, ED has my gratitude, if they build it I will buy it even if it is just to support them. Thanks ED!

Hey ED, Great report...Coming around turn 2 in 2020 DCS is extending the gap to the closest competitor.... They will never catch-up! I'm going to buy it even if I don't use it just to support the Developers and the Development of more good stuff!)

Not to be a nit pick but the abbreviation used in the airplane or helicopter manuals while I was in the Navy was ACFT for aircraft.
