I have a question, I trimmed the cyclic to 50 knots, my pedals don't have springs so I have them set as springless, I have 16 Hellfires on the bird with full fuel, I have my collective set so I am at 800 feet. With my hands off the cyclic and using only minor pedal movements I keep it on a heading. the thing hunts up and down, the speed fluctuates by like 10 knots either way and the altitude goes up a 100 then back down a 100, with me never touching the cyclic or the collective. I flew quite a bit in a CH-53 and it never hunted like that .Is that really how Apache's fly?

Kneeboards for AH-64D for guided/unguided weapon employment
tusler replied to 609_Relentov's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I tried putting kneeboards in the DCS... kneeboards AH-64 folder but they don't show up in game. I found the answer in another thread. the folder has to be as above AH-64D_BLK_II -
Forget all the trim reset stuff and just give us auto hover or a stabilized hover mode and life will be good again like in the KA-50 or the gazelle
-
LoL I'm still trying to hover this thing in the daytime with good weather, watch all the videos and just don't have the touch.

An Idiots Guide to Firing Hellfires with George [Tutorial]
tusler replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Please give us a tutorial on how you trimmed for that perfect hover. -
I put the pedals to the option with no springs and found the game mode had been checked by default during install. Took out the checkmark and those 2 things totally fixed it for me, I can fly and trim it like the Huey. and hover almost hands off.
-
Two things were making the trim impossibly hard to use for me. On the one screen by default Game Mode is checked when installed. I removed that check mark and turned off the recenter force trim for the pedals and put it on the trim for no centering spring. Immediately there was a massive difference in how the heli hovered and easy it is to go through transition to fwd flight and back into a hover.

Instant action training missions - no control
tusler replied to skypickle's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I found the game mode checked, removed that and put the pedal trimmer to the options with no springs and it works perfect now -
Took the checkmark out of game mode and put the pedals to no spring trimming and iit totally fixed everything
-
I have exactly the same problem, it does not happen online for me only when I create a mission to just fly around.

Instant action training missions - no control
tusler replied to skypickle's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I am having the same control problem but its on a created mission. I have the thing hot started on ramp and even if I trim full forward on cyclic it still goes backward. BackwardsAH64.trk -
I am glad I am not the only one having a difficult time with this. I was trying to trim like the Huey but was all over the sky, cyclic gone wild. Thanks for the info in this thread guys, it is going to save me.

I plan on taking off and finding the limits of the rotor, and engines, do some bump mast exercises, just see how far I can push it before it starts coming apart while empty, then load some weapons on it and find what the limits are with weight on. By then it will be bed time for me.

Sorry about posting in the wrong campaign thread.
-
I tried the campaign again with the release of ver 5.x and I cannot run it at all. I tried the fixes listed on the dialog boxes but have to admit I did not unerstand what they are trying to do. I hope ED comes out with a campaign system that is easy to use and works.

Any idea how much gas a 747 puts out on takeoff per engine...and then there is china with a bunch of coal fired industry and building more. I don't see how our tiny nation of 350mil people is going to impact this too much.

Modules not authorized to be used with my account
tusler replied to Fukitsuna's topic in Installation Problems
I was never on Steam, I have been on the standalone since the very beginning. I started DCS today and All my modules say "Failed to get Authorization Data: Error Code is:500. No Saved Authorization Found. I go through and reauthorize the modules , then next time I start it I get the same problem and error. -
In my case a true sandstorm effect would probably bring my RTX2060 Super frame rates to a crawl, LoL

PH98 Mosquito FB.VI Freeware Control Designs for 3D Printing
tusler replied to dmwierz's topic in Home Cockpits
Yes these guys look like they are onto a good thing. Their web page iis https://authentikit.org/category/mosquito/ and even if you don't have a 3d printer they will sell you a kit, hardware and you can assemble it your self. Very cool. -
I love the Viper ( mind you I'm no good at fighting with it) but I really like how it flies. I was watching this and it is highly unlikely a Viper would last long in a turn fight with a F22. This guys talking about the maneuvers says in a post stall condition, even though the plane is not technically flying they can still point the nose where they want. Wow!

No UH-1H in USA Blue for CSAR? -
I know from experience that if I am OGE and the vib's start and I let that VSI dip to 500, i will be in a ring state real quick, so if you can keep it just on the edge of the vib's as you are coming in to land with just a little fwd speed it will keep you out of VRS. The Hind is even worse because it has no vibration to let you know, its real smooth and quiet and then all the sudden I am falling out of the sky. LoL

Sir, I have found this site that has helped me understand what make a Heli fly and help with controlling it. I hope it helps you too.
