I printed the manual on my HP4050 but I will be buying the one ED produces just to support them. the number of hours I have spent flying the Ru version instead of being out in the bars has already saved enought money to buy the manual

I go to the RadioMayak folder and remove the russian wav files, and I put in either 1 or 20 wav files of english songs. The I go to the sound folder and delete SampleDurationTable file. When I try to start the sim at the last part of the loading process it comes up with a Dcs.exe terminated error message. I have noticed when the russian tunes are in the folder or if I delet all tunes and have no wav files in the folder the SampleDurationTable file is 494kb and the sim loads fine. If I add or put any other wav file in the folder when the SampleDurationTable file is created it is only 492kb and the sim errors out during startup. how can I fix this. Obn the windows desktop when you go to Track IR and View/ tracking is it working? Get that working and BS should just use it automatically.

I feel your pain, I am unable to understand russian also, what I have been doing is read the manual and learn how the abris,radios and weapons work,learn how to cold start by heart in the dark, use the first training mission and take control of the bird right at mission start and just fly around to like Maikop and listen to music on the AM radio, I am saving the campaign for when the english version is released because it is language intensive, you must be able to understand verbal ingame warnings or you are doomed in the campaign. Also go to multiplay, select client,and fly on the 159th practice mission server with other people it's a blast!

In options set it to camera1 and then if needed adjust your resolution. When you are using 2 monitors with Nvidia you do not use dual view, instead go into the Nvidia control panel and under setup multiple displays select one large desktop Horizontal. Then you have to add up the single disply resoultion, like if you use 1024 x768 for single then it would be 2048 x 768 for 2 screens and set the resoultion to 2048x768 in the sim options also.

Part of the problem is not being able to understand warnings and go through the proper training tutorials, just have fun until the english version comes out and then we will have a fighting chance at mastering this machine.:pilotfly:

Buy the Russian version, it is cheap and is great on multiplay and training with the manual, operating the Abris, radios, TV, weapons, checklist and flying around. Then when the english version comes out you will be ready to wage war instead of learning all the systems, mind you there is so much great programming in this sim I will still be learning some systems use when the english version is released. This is like Falcon 4 of Helicopters only better!

More Info- This only happens when I click on Diconnect after multiplay, then I have to alt tab out and come back in to see the error so I can click the ok to close the program. The error does not appear in single player mode.

Hi, When I exit mutli player, before the program can disconnect, I get this error. When I click the OK it closes the whole program. VR-Error.JPG

Hi, The exact same thing happens to me, it must be engineered in for the pilot to see and verify the target before he shoots. Remeber this is no Apache with a longbow radar, Thats later:D

Ijust tested this and with one monitor and on instant action when it first starts up I get 49-50 FPS. When I put the 2nd monitor back on and go to same instant action I get 77-79 FPS. Go Figure.:huh: I would have thought the fps should drop cause the card is doing more work but it does not. I have a Asus P5n, 750i, 4gig pc6400 ram, 8800 gt video and am using onboard sound because working on jet engines and flying around on H53's for 16 years did not help my hearing.:smartass:

It's fixed I can not tell you why, maybe you guys know. I took everything back down to 1 monitor and 1camera with the correct resoultion of 1024.768 for me. Rebooted the whole works and it is working fine. I put the dual monitor config back up, rebooted and it works fine also. An interesting side note, when in single monitor mode on instant action I get 40-50 FPS. When I put the 2nd monitor back up and executed the same mission I get 77-79 FPS.:megalol:

Hi, I have been playing single and mutiplayer for hours on end and it's great! I got the 2 screen setup working perfect. Today I decided to put some other WAV music files in the RadioMayak folder. I deleted the sampledurationtable file and restarted the computer and sim. I got a runtime error. I put all the files back as original [i copied the folder before I changed it] I deleted the sampledurationtable file again and restarted .I get a microsoft error about DCS.exe has to close, no matter what part of the program I try to run. I tried reinstalling the Ms. Visual C++ library but it did not help. Here is a screen shot and my Ap compat file. Thanks Oh, and when I installed BS I took a 40 gig drive wiped it, put xp Sp3 with all MS. & driver updates on fresh, then installed BS and firefox for a browser. i will have to check but other than a 1/10 second pause on mission startup to load graphics, I have not noticed any difference.

Hi, I did a search and found where a guy did it. What I did with Nvidia is go into the Nvidia control panel and under monitor setup select Horizontal stretch across both monitors. i had monitor set for 1024x768 and so it doubled it to 2048x768 then I put the same resoulution in the game and it works perfect. I was having a real problem seeing targets cause my eyes are not that good. Now I can see the targets easily!

Hi, I setup to monitors with an Nvidia 8800gt card. Mon on the right is 22" and on the left is 20". I want the shkval to be on the left 20" monitor. I went into options and selected shkval+camera and I get this in the game. I have the monitors set with dual view and they work fine in windows. what do I need to change. Thanks Multi.JPG

Try this Once you get into a hover and auto hover is on. Lockup the Shval and turn on auto turn to target. Now slew your target cursor and the helo will continue to track where you are slewing. look at abris and track the yellow bars while you are slewing to see where your cursor is on the map.

Yo, Look for buying the russian version thread. If you go to the russian side of the site ED has fixed it so you can buy it and be playing pretty quick. The tool tips and the manual is in english so it's flyable now and multiplayer works great. The english version will bring us the campaign and missions. But there is more than enough to keep busy with the Ru version . and it's so reasonably priced a person would be nuts to use the torrent. It's quicker and easier to buy and install it.

It works great I have the russian version and trim works like you say. i am using a 568 Combat stick with Saitek pedals until my x52 arrives. When I am flying and holding the stick forward to get the airspeed i want then I hit trim and imeadiatly let the stick gently return to the spring center. Because the autopilot modes have stabalization also it is possible to complete the evolution without any porpising. The fun comes in when you decending for a landing. I have been incrementally setting trim as I slow down so when I am at a hover the stick is very close to center and I put in my last trim. It works fine, the cougar is probably better but not needed.
