On the weapons selector you push it down once it is on SP/PH.

Welp this will be a massive PR disaster if it’s not true, especially coming from the Holy Wags himself, whom a lot of people encluding myself place a lot of trust in. Strange that he’d mention this before HB, but in the end ED have control over release dates.

Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.
-
It wasn’t really that hot for me yesterday, you know just the normal 46C with a slight breeze that would fry an egg. :megalol:
-
I really hope this doesn't sound like an immature attack on you, but do you actually know anything you're talking about? Where have you gathered so much misinformation? I really hope you do some reading up through some of these threads where some very credible people will hope to turn around about 99% of your views on the Tomcat and its abilities.

The hornet isn't capable of M 2.0, don't know what Hornet you're flying to achieve that.

Well give me a copy and I’ll be sure to create some content for you! Though the quality may not be quite to your standard, or any standard for that matter

DCS F-14 Update: JESTER AI Behind the Scenes Recording & Multicrew
Gunslinger22 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hmm, while I know that’s said a lot about comms when it come to actual combat. But from all the recording you can listen to either involving SAM engagements or dogfights. There is always emotion in their tone, heck have you not heard the audio for the two SU-22 shoot downs? There is a hell of a lot of emotions regarding their comms. -
** F-14 Development Update: December 2018 **
Gunslinger22 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Exactly! I think they should relieve the pressure of any nitpicking community members and just keep quiet until it is ready to release. Honesty I don’t understand what some very loud people think, that by kicking up dust and having dummy spits will somehow either make HB work faster or harder? Just let them do there thing, we’ve waited years, so what is a couple more months for God’s sake? So I think Cobra should just keep his focus on the task ahead rather than the community unless he really has something worth mentioning, such as an imminent release or the RIO pit. -

Yeah exactly what I think, but it does make you think why he said he’d update us weekly. I wouldn’t have thought they’d be doing enough work weekly to provide substantial updates other than warmer or colder to release posts. Which I don’t find it a necessary thing to do. The only update I need is to tell us when they have decided on a release date. That will be an awesome day! -

Gunslinger22 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
This is not intended to begin the Third World War, but didn’t Cobra say he’d be updating us weekly on the Tomcats progress towards launch? I don’t know why he even bothered to mention updates to be honest. It’s only going to break the fragile hearts of so many hype trainers if he doesn’t deliver. I take his silence as golden though, it means they must be working extremely hard to get it there. -
Thank-you for the excellent reply! That has answered many questions I’ve had about the handling of the Tomcat.

Man I just love watching anything F-14 related at the moment! This was actually a very good video, though I found his comments about the FM very contradictory to everything I’ve read and seen so far. He mentions that the Tomcat is nearly idiot proof and that it feels much like a FBW airframe. Though from what Jabbers and Ralfie have said, it’s apparently very hands on and will punish any inputs that aren’t correct to the situation. He even mentions that it’s very hard to stall and that you have to nearly enduce a flat spin providing thrust isn’t asymmetrical. Just found that strange that his views could be so different. Either way I’m happy!

** F-14 Development Update: December 2018 **

While I’m not saying that they shouldn’t take time off, you do realise that a large majority of people and myself included have to work throughout Christmas, while obviously having couple days off for the Christmas weekend but back to it once the new year begins. It’s not like HB are going to be working on Christmas Day and Newyears eve. I think people are forgetting that, while they’re developing things for our enjoyment, they’re also a business whom needs to require an income for its employees. So that means meeting their own deadlines to bring in that income. I’m sure they know what they’re doing when it comes to work hours and days off. -
Hmm, the wise man once truly said; a fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool. Seems like the 21st won't be the day after all. This is all in good fun, I wanted it just as much as the next man/women, but I'm also a foolish realist and know 2019 will be the year of the Tomcat.

Yeah I was a little fired up when I wrote that so please pardon me if I came off as being rude. I just get a bit annoyed with how picky some people can be about one thing they want simulated in one very specific detail to then wanting an option to make something easier for themselves and to go against the grain of the Simulation. I also find it strange how people are commenting on this without a) Flying the F-14 in game and b) Trying the snapview HB are offering as an alternative for those without TrackIR/VR.
-
So what is the point of a 'simulation' then if we're not sitting in the real plane. Heck why make the cockpit clickable if we cannot actually reach out and click them? Your reason isn't a valid reason.
-
Thank-you very much guys, just the information I was looking for! Great to see your replies were so quick, 99% of this community are really great.

I know there is serval threads about the TCS. But I have a few questions in regards to its abilities, it was my conception that the TCS was slave to the radar. Thought it appears in these screens I took from the 1995 Fighter Fling, that either it was able to slew or the AN/AWG-9 was amazing enough to lock up both an eagle and a moose on the ground. So was the TCS more than just slave to the radar?

I know why people are hyped over the 21st, that wasn't what I was asking. Nor did I blame HB for the hype around it. I was curious to why people still think, post december update, that they're still going to release it on the 21st. Despite all the evidence pointing towards a 2019 release.
-
Curious, how is the 21st still even remotely a realistic release date to people? I don't understand how people still think they're going to release it on the 21st despite all the light HB have shed on how far away they are.

This is fantastic, going to be able to live my Red Storm Rising fantasy of defending the Nimitz against hordes of TU-22M3's in 1988. So many Cold War scenarios to play out. Without a doubt an Iceland terrain should be a must for the F-14.

Request: HeatBlur videos step by step about the F-14
Gunslinger22 replied to SilentSierra's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well I assume much of this weight will be lifted off your shoulders once the media release is handed out to content creators? Looking forward to the holy RedKite and Jabbers to get their hands on it. -
I'm looking forward to the .psd files! Hopefully we get it before Christmas!

Gunslinger22 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Or maybe less of a community that is "I wan't it now, now, now!!" so developers don't feel the pressure to release an unfinished product? :megalol: But really encouraging to know that we're going to get an unprecedented level of F-14 simulation!
