This is the last Belsimtek product I will ever buy.

Sorry this does NOT work for VR. Turned on Snap View and followed your directions. Nothing was saved in VR.
-
Can you confirm that is the case in VR? There are a few differences between flat screen and vr viewing. Like the VR Zoom function button which doesnt exist in regular play.

Not ALL HOTAS have stiction. I have the CH Fighter stick and it works and feels great. Ditto for Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals. Was considering getting the TM Warthog when I first started simming DCS. But I do my research before making major investments. And what I read in posts from many WH owners convinced me that was not the way I wanted to go. My CH products havent had a lick of problems and Im sure glad I went with them.

Dear oculus rift cv1 users. Is it really worth it!
lasvideo replied to boedha68's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes. its really worth it. Case and point. After trying the Rift I decided it was the perfect unit to learn a very realistic flight sim called DCS. I found a guy online who was a pilot in real life and he gave me 6 weeks of flight instruction based on the FAA flight manual in the L-39 Albatross training jet. I was so overwhelmed during my first lesson by the realism of the controls in the cockpit and the experience of flying that I was sweating bullets. 6 weeks later I passed my VR flight exam and have moved onto bigger and better aircraft in DCS (A10C). I may never fly a real jet, but every time (everyday) I put on the Rift, it sure as hell feels like I am. :) -
I have that issue in VR with A10C. Always have to slide it back.

My thanks to all for your input. I spent an hour just flying in formation with Texaco. It turned out to be, for the most part, a doable and fun challenge. I will be sticking with this until my instincts tell me Im ready for the next phase. Shadowing the jet was more fun then I expected. And when it became a bit frustrating it was fun to turn Kamikazee and ram it. :devil_2:

SWEET! Thank you. Practice is my middle name ever since I started flying DCS. Do it about 4 hours a day. (The life of a retired video editor.)
-
Excellant point....
-
That maybe, but that is NOT my experience with the HOTAS I am using. The throttle is slow to speed up when trying to catch Texaco and then when Im close its slow to slow down. Speed brake is MUCH more responsive and seems to give me finer and quicker control. Interesting angle on refueling, but I find the view from the A10C making the connect more helpful... ;)
-
Thanks.Good to know.
-
Id appreciate any thoughts from experienced A10C pilots on the subject of refueling. I find (after MANY attempts) that controlling the aircrafts speed with the CH Pro throttle does not give me the fine, immediate control I need to catch up to and then slow down to match speed of Texaco. It seems I get a more controlled response from using the speed brake. What techniques do you guys use to successfully refuel?

I checked. There is NOTHING in the /Mods/campaigns folder. Due to the insane short time frame for shut down I would like to move on to the next mission. And prefer not to screw around with any .lua files. What do you suggest? FOUND THEM. I was looking in the USER files and not in the ED file on the C: drive. Never mind ;)

No thanks. If there are problems / issues with the product its very easy to return the item in Amazon USA. The only way I buy most big ticket items these days.
-
Postponing my purchase until these issues are addressed. For the price, in should work flawless out of the box, like my old CH Fighterstick did (and still does after MANY years.)
-
When will your fine products be available on Amazon USA for all your fans in the states?
-
I applied and was accepted. Was told within 48 hours I would hear from my contact. 3 days later I still havent heard a word. Moving on to find a more reliable group.
-
Thanks! I sent you a PM there as well. I went to your website and couldn't access any information on the squad. Just the logo animation. Even when I tried to access the various areas thru the menu on the right side of the screen.

Looking to Join DCS USA Squadron. I have been flying DCS (in VR) for 3 months and am LOVING it. When I started I was lucky enough to find a real pilot and DCS enthusiast to give me 4 weeks of flight instruction closely based on the FAA manual (in the L-39C Albatross trainer). It was an excellent experience . I followed that by learning to fly the F-5 Tiger. A2A ended up being 50% searching for the bogey and 50% chasing each other in endless circles. So I moved on to the A10C which I am in the midst of learning now. It will be the airframe that I fly from now on. Im looking for a USA based DCS squad with servers also in the US. Based in Las Vegas. Im 63 and retired so I have lots of time and energy to dedicate to my sim flying. If anyone knows of a squadron that fits this description, please let me know.

So, does this unit have any stiction or broken buttons (common issues with the WH)? Why are you selling it?
-
I have a Vive ( and Rift) as well. Love flying the Warthog in VR! I decided the best way for me to learn is on the flat screen. Then, when Ive memorized all the HOTAS commands by heart I put on the VR HMD and fly into the sunset... LOVE IT!
-
I stopped flying the F-5 due to this problem.

Flying for real in VR. 1990 called and wants its flat screens back :P
