  1. I do agree! Not only it would've looked better, it would've felt and worked better, too! Our purpose is not to make a throttle "just like TM but a bit cheaper". Nor it is to make a throttle "just like TM but a bit better". Nor it is to make a throttle "just like TM but with a couple extra buttons". We are working on a throttle that will set a new standard. And we will be working on it for as long as it takes to deliver nothing less than what we want it to be. So stay tuned. :joystick:
  2. Nope. The fact that there is something better, doesn't make what you already have worse. It does the job. It is not going to stop doing so. Why bother? Just we have long going plans for the future, and we know that the new BB will accommodate our (i.e., your) needs better when working with the park of new devices - most of them don't even exist other than on paper. Will the new BB help or will it be more convenient in current setups? - maybe, but not dramatically. Its higher currency conductivity means it can potentially serve as a hub. But not all current devices can support the concept "many peripherals, one BB". So whoever has the orange BB, enjoy it and worry not. Whoever buys new devices, will from some point receive new BBs - which by the way doesn't mean "starting tomorrow".
  3. In a word, no. If we could - do you think we wouldn't?
  4. There are two solutions, one being more realistic than the other - so I will now divulge this very one: When the grips are made and in storage but the sales are not yet officially launched, we will (based on the number of pre-orders at our EU dealer) arrange a shipment to the EU. So that when the sales start, the cargo is already like half way to Rotterdam. It may not make the grips available at exactly the same time on both sides of the pond, but will at least shorten the waiting by 2 weeks or more.
  5. Bye bye orange black box, welcome brave new black black box! We loved it, too. Seriously. The metal feel. The catchy color. The extra weight. The changes however are not just about redressing the old box into a plastic casing while keeping all the internals the same. There are big improvements inside. To list only a couple, the new BB provides for much higher current conductivity (1A vs 0.15A). Also, this little button simplifies setting up process a lot. We are sure the users will very soon feel how much more the new BB can afford them, and get used to the new looks and feeling. Sometimes moving ahead means leaving something behind. Sorry for that, little orange boxie. You will be dearly missed.
  6. Warthog base compatibility explained Gentlemen, let me make it straight once and forever :) A grip is an add-on to the base. --> VKB-made bases provide support for TM-made WH grip. --> Should TM wish VKB-made grips used on TM-made bases they can modify their bases, or design and produce adapter kits. Of course this will take quite some time, cost quite some money, and will make engineers of all levels focus on it rather than on going ahead with working on TM's own projects, but this is what it is. We therefore encourage everyone interested in expanding their park of TM-base-compatible grips to talk to TM and suggest they take the above steps. We most sincerely wish and hope TM listens to these voices. We believe this can be very beneficial to the whole gaming community. :joystick:
  7. Warthog base - no. Why should it? Just to turn a masterpiece into an overpriced chunk of useless circuitry, plastic and metal? WH base is too much a limitation.
  8. Well, this is not the only platform where we collected feedback. Besides, an advice is an advice, and necessity is necessity. Technology is technology. Some things vote for themselves! :)
  9. There will be kinda pre-order list (why kinda is because no funds will be taken or frozen) - it will help us know roughly the number of v1 users we will need to serve. Then, based on this number we will make grips for v1 - either they will be available right away (no firm promise), or within a couple of months (not years). Our production capacity now is times that last year, so fear not. Long delays are in the past.
  10. Time to wake up and welcome the brave new world :pilotfly: GF bases are in stock. Talks about GFs and MCGs not being available are rapidly falling into oblivion, even although there are guys still happy to pop up this topic in every discussion. NO I am not hinting at anyone present :) just sharing my point that "vkb is never in stock" is not a trendy topic any longer. :music_whistling:
  11. There is still some time till mid November; we will work out the technicalities, and explain how tos to the potential buyers. Talking time limits, no, we don't plan any.
  12. Every time I bump into your name on the forum I have some sort of deja vu, like I did write to you ans asked to contact me through PM at VKB home forum... Did I not? Because I remember reading your first post about the bearing, and thinking how to help you. But we only do tech support via our own forum, so I thought I asked you to get registered there first. If I didn't, then I do now. Please go to our forum and ping me there. Direct links to your posts with your problem described would help a lot. I'm pretty positive we will be able to o something about it. And yes, pls mention which country you are in.
  13. Check out the pictures... A roaring F-14 Tomcat, one of the most fearsome airplanes of the Cold War. ... and A state of the art F-14 Tomcat grip that is now officially announced as it is entering production stage. Please put on your helmets, fasten your belts, and get ready for the take off. F-14 Tomcat grip turned to be one of our most interesting products (joint project with Heatblur, supported by Eagle Dynamics). The grip is a veritable replica, exact to a fraction of a millimeter. Prototypes were checked and approved by the real veteran F-14 pilots of Heatblur team. Making a replica grip wasn't easy, as we couldn't alter the shape or size of the device, nor the controls' layout. However our engineers set their creativity free when it came to internal design of the grip. We didn’t want to make a lookalike device, somewhat resembling the original. Instead we wanted to deliver the spirit and feeling of this legendary warbird with her feline nickname. The very touch of this grip is supposed to wake up the memories – or, bring up the images – of the glorious service Tomcat did to the world.  Rubber inserts for a no slip firm and handy grip  Metal ammo switch, hat, and emergency autopilot disable trigger  Long travel soft click buttons  Modular hat design (fully dismantleable, all buttons user replaceable)  Ammo switch design based on contactless sensor  DLC maneuver wheel design based on contactless sensor  Two-step trigger design based on cam mechanism – similar to that used in real life war planes  Lockable contactless sensor twist mechanism  32-bit ARM controller as the brain of the grip Now, where are we, and how it translates into simple words? We have finished the molds. Here they are, the real beauties. See the picture! Perfection in every curve! Our engineers need a few weeks to finalize the surfaces adding texture and making tiny invisible tweaks here and there. We're planning the first copies roll out in early-mid November. There will be pre-order open in November; RRP is marked at 189 USD (base not included). Those who already purchased F-14 module from Heatblur will enjoy 10% off this price; those who consider buying that module will have 10 USD off the price of the module with the purchase of the VKB F-14 grip. New VKB F-14 grip is breaking into the gaming devices market. We know: we did it right, and we’re proud of our new creation. Hope, you can join us and share our pride and happiness! P.S. An attentive pilot has probably noticed something interesting in the picture of the grip… What could that be? - Great question. Please stay tuned for more news: a new announcement is coming soon.
  14. Thank you! Wish you tons of joy in the sky! Please get registered at our home forum. There is quite a gang of really friendly guys happy to help you out if you need a hand. Also, please do invest some time in learning our software utilities. To many they look formidable in the beginning, but you will really feel a lot better once you get through the basics.
  15. Well, two things... ooooops, three things. First is, I feel sorry for the time you wasted - I hate having gear sitting on the corner and not working, too. Then, we are on a week of holiday (not we=VKB; we=the whole country of China). And finally, although we do read 3rd party forums, we only do tech support through our home forum at VKB official site. You have opened a ticket; I will see about it. However, if you opened a ticket, and it doesn't get attention within reasonable time, the only way to speed it up is to rise the question at our home forum. Engineers are there! I am here, but you need them, not me. :joystick: Anyway, I will check your ticket status.
  16. Support for our previous generation models is never dropped. Accessories however are [obviously] first made for the current models. Backwards compatibility and support are by far not the same. Talking particularly about this 200mm ext - I will ask the guys who know better. May take until Monday though. UPDATE: Send me a PM at VKB home forum. Make sure you quote your email address there and the dates you sent emails to our sales team. >>>>>> At VKB home forum, not here, not on any external platform.
  17. Our home forum has tons of in depth talks about programming, plus it is the place where our engineers check in on nearly daily basis. My advice would be to get registered there, and spend some time on reading the tech support threads. SEARCH function sucks there - and we know it - but we'll be back to smaller problems like tuning up the sites once we release TECS.
  18. And THANK YOU Sir!
  19. Great to hear it, thank you!
  20. Thank you for coming to help!
  21. Thank you for such a nice post, and especially for understanding the above. It is indeed a tricky balance between visual and tactile similarity. Game controls should look as close to real ones as possible, but should they feel the same? - no definite answer... Moreover, in many applications sticking to "real feeling" would simply make gaming immersion much too tiring, and paradoxically less "realistic". :joystick:
  22. Everyone knows how to a) play football, and b) make joysticks. :joystick:
  23. With all respect, your news are from yesterday. We're closing up with that, and the difference between last August and August this year in terms of stock and availability is more than obvious. We don't do sales on forums, and I am a wrong man to ask sales questions, but I believe writing to sales@.... (our sales dept email is easy to find) may pretty easily get your need served! :)
  24. With all respect, absolutely NO. Abundance of finance and manpower didn't help TM in developing their new grip in 7+ years. And I'm not implying they are slow or not focused enough. Simply, some things take time. And there are no shortcuts, regardless how many people or cash you assign. * By the way :) what I said about our financial practices is now history; now we're OK with financing our projects directly, and this has ceased being a problem since, ehhhuhh... mmmm... about 2 or 3 years ago.
