[FIXED INTERNALLY] Dumb bomb break X - dud
Darcwaynard replied to default123's topic in Bugs and Problems
Other than dud logic being broken on high drag bombs it seems to be working normally. If you are trying to drop regular Mk-8x from very low you aren't employing them correctly you need to get up higher. -
I think fasted way to reset trim would be to gear up and flaps to auto. FCS will pretty much trim you back to level flight automatically afterwards. Also remember that the trim responds differently relative to whether you are configured dirty or clean.
-
Can confirm working nicely with X-55. This feels better thanks!
-
Resetting trim to 0 after be close to 10 units of nose up trim would land you in the drink pretty quick. Flaps full down with gear at 250 knots. Trim response in auto is not significant enough. I keep my throttle at idle and trim up carefully. Short presses. Check your FCS page, I want to say you'll be around 8 - 10 units nose up once you're all trimmed out (give or take). Once you get around 150 knots add some power and finish trimming to on speed and level. Should be around 130-135 knots. Practice practice practice. Watch Wags youtube videos.

Pretty sure its legit. I always remember it disappearing once your VV is within the E bracket. You have AoA on speed indicator and an E bracket to reference. Plus an LSO watching your AoA and calling corrections. No need for the numbers at this point. Check the manual as well you'll see images confirming this.

Or just cue all units to activate at a time instead of mission start. Im sure if a red flag campaign is made for the Hornet it will be somewhat like the A-10c red flag campaign with a mix of cold and hot starts. (fingers crossed) Edit: For red flag mission we really need an option to turn down the "ambient" chatter. When I arrived at the AO it felt like I went blind (or crazy). Too many voices make it stop! If this is normal sensory overload for a pilot on red flag I will retract this.

Nice, yep that's where I thought they were mounted. I'm no where near there but I usually get to see the CF-188 demo at least once a year in Ontario. :)
-
Not sure re: hmd The E bracket exists so that you dont need to reference an AoA number. Therefore if you are on speed the number is removed to reduce clutter. AoA is displayed if gear is up or if gear is down and not on speed.

Nice! Feel like sharing? :) ????

[MISSING TRACK FILE] Ejection not occurring
Darcwaynard replied to steelrfan85's topic in Bugs and Problems
Because sometimes you survive and are able to eject? If your view switches to external you know your pilot is dead. Wing missing but maybe we can pretent the shockwave or some shrapnel killed them? Not sure if any of that is modelled though. Ejections and deaths. All looks like sh*t on your logbook. :P -
Open in ME, select your flight and switch to start from parking cold.

I doubt it, it would be either of the stations on the side of the plane that can have aim-120's or Aim-7s (not sure the numbers of those stations off hand). STK is referring to where the smoke canisters are mounted in the rear of the aircraft? Pure speculation on this.
-
If by sensor pod you mean the ATFLIR pod it is mounted on one of the cheek stations.

Can we get a screenshot while lined up on final with HSI up on left ddi?
-
I have better results taking the runway heading from the kneeboard chart as they differ from the f10 map heading a few degrees. Iirc its the difference between magnetic and true headings. Kneeboard headings jive better with hornet. Apologies for not remembering which source is magnetic and which is true.
-
I had the same issue with a KC-130 and the Stennis. I would only get bearing and station name on HSI without any range or HUD info. I later realized I did not fill in the "unit" box as per Jumpink's post. Once I did this the stations worked as normal and I was able to receive all data from ground, A/A as well as X and Y stations. Perhaps Hoggits mission creators missed a couple boxes yeah?
-
It takes a few seconds for them to start tracking as well. Best bet is to get up around angels 20 and give it another try.
-
+5 as well. The app is amazing. Any issues have been answered and dealt with promptly. Money well spent! Anyone use it while online using SRS at the same time? I want to play online more but not sure how they jive together. I suppose if a tanker I want to talk to is on a different frequency than the frequencies used for simple radio it wouldn't be an issue right? I wouldn't want everyone listening to me say "ready pre contact" a million times in the middle of a fight. Cheers keep up the great work!

MFUZE set to OFF, EFUZE instant
-
Iirc if you go to data page from radar page there should be a COLOR option you can box. Haven't tried yet but I would imagine that would be the case for the other pages where colour is available eg: SA page

In your video fuses are set to OFF. Bombs were still detonating. You might want to ty again with both fuses armed in case there has been some updates to the fusing accuracy since the update.

I see, I'm trying to use proper procedures. I'm not sure why you'd watch speed once the plane is configured for landing? A glance at the AOA indicator is warranted just in case but I find once I'm on speed and using throttle for altitude I never look at my airspeed again. As far as the VV goes, if the HUD goes down during battle and you have to land with no HUD we would want to be able to fly the ball properly ya?
-
Thanks for that tip, I'm pretty good at hitting the numbers but having the ICLS available until the ball is more visible will definitely be a huge help, will try it out tonight. No issues with power rolling out, its a ball visibility issue once I'm lined up. I'm deck spotting until I can make it out better. It seems like most guys running monitors are using 1440 these days. I guess its perhaps time to send 1080p to the boneyard and get more pixels. :P Shhhhhh, I cheated the vision exam. Thanks for the responses guys, just trying to tidy up my work flow once in the groove. Seems its more of a "buy a new monitor" situation but I'll work on a system where I zoom into the HUD more for the first half then back out once its visible from standard position.
-
At 3/4 mile the ball is pretty hard to see. If my turn to final is timed right its usually lined up center once I level out @ approx 330 feet @ 3/4 mile. At that point I have to "deck spot" a bit until I'm around 1/4 mile from the deck and can see the ball better. Do most of you guys zoom in on the HUD super close to help with this? Do real hornet pilots lean forward at all? I'm running 40" 1080p all setting maxed. Second question, once @ 3/4 should we stare at the ball the entire way down to the deck or cycle between looking at the VV/deck and the ball? Apologies if this has been answered already. Thanks all!

50 in flight approx. Probably Another 50 sitting on the tarmac un-logged.
