I guess so, that's what many people say as well. But I wish I could enable it when flying over busy areas cause that's when my frames drop to 45 anyways but with ASW enabled that makes game butter smooth. The only problem I mentioned before is that it stutters every few seconds and that is very annoying, others don't seem to have that issue. Do you? System: Asus Z170 DELUX i7-6700k, GTX980Ti, TridentZ 16GB @3400Mhz

Haven't tried oculus tray tool, gotta check that out but I always use debug tool which I think is something similar. I alway start oculus home first. Not sure if it the same with tray tool but I always make sure that the debug tool supersampling option is set to the same as in DCS otherwise debug tool setting overides dcs setting.

ATW - Asynchronous TimeWarp is a rift feature. You can google it for more info. ...KP2 locks the game at 45fps with ASW disabled ...KP3 locks the game at 45fps with ASW enabled ))

Yep, still active you can see it works by looking at your fps counter in the game when switching between different settings. ASW is oculus feature only. Best way to see the difference is when you fly over the busy areas like towns at slow speeds and looking 90 degrees left or right down at the buildings. For me automatic ASW makes everything very smooth but produce artifacts when flying at high speeds. But I always play on CTRL+num1 which is 90 fps ASW disabled because I have a stutter issue every few seconds with ASW enabled and no one else seem to have the same problem at least I couldn't find anyone.

I map my mouse buttons to x55 throttle rocker switch(down - left click, up - right click) works pretty well, then point with my head where I need to click. Although I do keep mouse enabled cause I still use it to navigate the \ menu and I like how this way the pointer disappears when not in use. The only inconvenience is that I have to bring the pointer back to the center of view when I finish using the mouse.

I'm on 980ti and ASW is horrible. I like how it makes dcs very smooth and I don't mind that some things get blurry with ASW but I get stutter every few seconds and that makes it unplayable for me with ASW on. Does anyone else have this problem?

You must take DCS optimization into consideration as well. You see most likely 6 months from now my 980ti will perform in DCS just as good as your 1080ti right now especially when DCS 2.5 is released. Even if Volta Ti will have minimum performance increase on 1080ti it will still be a really good increase in performance on 980ti. It will be a considerable difference and that's what so intriguing. Instead of jumping up little by little in FPS I will have a big jump:) I just remember the time when I switched from 8800GTS to 680 and seeing the difference was really exciting.

The release of next-gen Nvidia Volta GPUs is planned for q1 2018. I see no reason to upgrade right now from 980ti. Will wait for 2080ti or whatever it's going to be to hit shelves by the end of 2018. And maybe next gen VR around the same time. DCS should have better optimization by then so I see the end of 2018 as a sweet spot for upgrades instead of having a rat race every year for the best and fastest

Ты имеешь ввиду желтые? V BR DA...? Мануал страница 114-115.

You don't need to have vr enabled in vr option for that to show up. I would also recommend running DCS repair. See if it fixes your problem.

Can you post your screenshot?

Could have saved $264 if I wouldn't order mine a month ago :joystick:

I've asked a similar question in this thread it's worth reading. And here I am 3 weeks later so glad I went ahead and bought the Rift. Of course you could wait for 2 more years till the next gen devices and graphics cards to be able to run the game at a higher res. but for what it is now it's worth it! As soon as you immerse yourself inside a cockpit you will release that resolution is of no such significance anymore. I tell you what it's like. It's like asking should I wait for a 32k TV or enjoy watching high def movies today. And one more thing. After trying the Rift for a couple of days there is no way I would go back to play DCS with trackIR on a monitor.

Dear oculus rift cv1 users. Is it really worth it!

Thanks for all your comments! I guess I will go with the Rift without a doubt now) -

I'm planning to get into VR the problem is I can't chose between Vive and Rift. I know Vive would beat the Rift in room scale but at the same time I've heard that Rift is much better visually in DCS especially due to recent ASW implementation and is also lighter which is a big +. Is anyone here who has both? Any comments and recommendation which one I should get? I was leaning towards the Vive but I don't want to be disappointed if Rift is even slightly better in DCS. I read a lot of comments on how amazing DCS is in the Rift but not much from Vive owners. -
Did you try calling support? I've ordered mine on the 1st of March and got an email two weeks ago that they were about to finalize my order. I've cancelled it due to poor and slow DCS support. I know it's gonna take them ages to get their sh** sorted like with the new engine that after so many years is still not complete. So I might just wait for a second generation HMDs
-
It took them more than 6 years to develop a new engine and release it in unfinished alpha version. I'd say give them half of that time now to finalize it and release 2.5 My best guess is that we will not see DCS 2.5 this year. Not to mention a good VR implementation and optimization.
-
That's what I'm saying! And Mr. Wagner told us a month ago that we are going to have a great time with it. Should have added great time with slide show and nausea.:joystick: Knowing ED for years now I think it's going to take them ages before they deliver a really smooth and enjoyable gameplay on at least medium setting. Sometime next year when Oculus release CV2.
-
Ok, so what you are trying to say is that GPU usage will drop as you add more objects? Still doesn't sound right.
-
Everyone is having problems with VR, even on low settings yet we have Mr. Wagner who commented a while ago saying VR gameplay in DCS is great and flawless using both headsets. What a misleading information! I'm now cancelling my Vive preorder and the only thing I regret about is that a couple of months ago I've spent so much on the high end PC just mainly for VR in DCS and it turns out that not only I have to set everything on LOW in graphics settings but even then I can't have a smooth flight. I don't care how immersive you feel while wearing this useless (in DCS) headset through which you can't even see and appreciate high details of the sim even with 980ti. I bet DCS is at least 2 years away from a good VR experience and about 5 years from calling an excellent experience. So much hype with this BS VR on DCS forum!!!:hmm:
