  1. Wow... you don't really think about these little things. To see that something so small like that is modeled it really makes me amazed at the depth of this system in terms of system modeling... its mad!
  2. How does one program the slew function for the shkval to the microstick on the TM Cougar on the throttle? I've tried without any success and its driving me mad! If anyone could help me on this matter I'd be extremely grateful!!! Good hunting, LoneWolf
  3. You see the clip with the RPG? Man that was close!
  4. I'm confused about the whole core affinity thing. I'm running an E6600 at default 2.4Ghz with XP Pro SP3, would I benefit in any way from utilizing this tool???
  5. You want thrust vectoring... get ED to make a Harrier then :P *Wishes for FA2/GR7*
  6. In that case, I stand corrected sir
  7. True, Russia is a very proud nation... and to date no one has beaten them, the closest they came was in '41 but they luckily managed to push it back through sheer man power... although its quite a sad fact that the brutality of the leadership in the Red Army meant that they killed nearly as many of their own men as the German's in all likeliness! The current estimate for Russian casualties stands at a horrific 26.6 million! Nazi Germany's estimate stands at 5.5 million, whilst the combined casualties for Great Britain and the USA stand at just under 1 million.
  8. Actually, I think Germany's advance into Russian territory in Barbarossa would have been successful if Great Britain has been neutralized as a threat in 1940/41 as Hitler would have been able to comfortably reinforce the three army groups to the East without fear of landings in Western Europe... I doubt that the Yanks could have pulled an invasion off without the help of the Brits. The only way I can see them pulling it off would be to set up bases in the Mediterranean and advance up through Italy (but that would have been long and costly if the Afrika Corp had solidified their hold on Egypt and the surrounding territories; not to mention that the U-boats would have been able to close the Atlantic without much trouble if the UK fell. If they did pull this off, the Germans would have most likely been able to capture much more ground than they did historically. Remember also the USA would have been under pressure in the Pacific as well because of the threat from Japan... doesn't paint a pretty picture when you think about it like that. Russia was actually quite lucky back then, Hitler's obsession with capturing Stalingrad and refusing to wait to launch Operation Sealion meant that he could not support such a massive offensive for long before the Russians and other Allied nations began to gain the advantage over resources and sheer strength of arms. Just my 2p :pilotfly: On another note, I knew that Russia's military was in big trouble after years of neglect.. but that's a shocking statistic. It makes you wonder what would happen if Russia ever decided to use force of arms/defend territory against attacks from a stronger power, instead of bullying its smaller former member states into submission. Regardless of what happened politically for to spark the conflict in Georgia, seeing that Russia is so large I think the Georgian's did their best in defending against the "steamroller" that was the Russian Army. I thought that the Russian's would have advanced a lot quicker than they did. By the way, how did the Red's get so much armour into Georgia so quickly? I mean the MBT's would have needed to be moved in on transports through the tunnel because the tunnel is long the engines in the MBT's would have over-heated in the hot summer weather, not to mention the tunnel is only single file... yet they managed to have a fully armed force ready to go in quickly with all the armour moving in Gerogia/SO within' hours (if they weren't expecting it surely it would take about 12 hours to begin preperations to move in. My personal opinion is that it was a set up, and that armour was already present inside Gerogia/South Ossetia before the Georgian's opened up. This would explain why the Russian's were so keen to shoot down Gerogian UAV's, which they did quite a bit, in the weeks leading up to the conflict.
  9. The Nevada theater is great yes, but it doesn't provide much in the way of Yanks vs Ruskies does it ;). Will be freakin' awesome for Red Flag exercises yes, but as far as a realistic campaign theater it's not really the best choice. Balkan's would be awesome, some good opportunities for terrain masking there :D... just watch those Igla's!
  10. I don't know if this has been brought up elsewhere, but are there currently any plans to incorporate a new theatre into DCS:Wathog? Quite frankly I'm getting bored sick of flying in the Caucasus... why not a European map with hordes of Soviet armour to strafe? Or a middle east campaign like Iraq/Afghanistan (particually for the Apache!). I'm sure there are also a lot of Falcon 4.0 fliers who'd probably like to see a Korea map (unless thats just me lol).
  11. Yeah, DI's Tornado was classic. Hmmm, desert storm campaign anyone? JP233's down runways :D I'm in heaven.
  12. I know the Buc and Lightning are obsolete... but one can dream :p. Teapot I can't help but notice you made you sig font about 3x bigger lol, hopefully someone at ED will see ;)
  13. Wish list: 1- Harrier (any model) 2- Tornado GR4 3- Tornado F3 4- Buccaneer S.2D 5- English Electric Lightning... SRBM with wings :D
  14. The one aircraft I've been dieing to see modeled accurately over the years.... the Harrier. I don't care what model of harrier it is... FS1/GR7 i just want to go VSTOL :D. ED, any chance of this in the dim and distant future ;).
  15. Bump? No one know?
  16. Can I use my old LO:FC skins in DCS? I've got some really superb skins for aircraft etc and I would love to see them again in DCS Black Shark. Can any one advise me on this? Thanks in advance. :joystick:
  17. Wow, thats amazing. I'll agree with other statements here that this is just as revolutionary for simming as TrackIR was, I can see people who start using the "power glove" not being able to fly with out it after a while... I can't fly without Track IR now! Seriously look into getting this done as a full on product, I'm sure there are companies out there who would be interested in taking on this as a commercial product!
  18. Cougar trimming tweak... I'm using Viper's ka-50 profile for the cougar atm (lovely work btw), tried putting in the command in which the stick "remembers" its position before releasing the button for trimming. Is there anything I have to add to the macro side of things? I try using it in the sim and nothing seems to happen for me, anything I might be doing wrong? Cheers.
  19. Any news on a new Modman version? I'm trying to use the current version of modman with DCS, but when it does the "show me the way" message I can't locate the launcher.exe to load it from :(. Help!
  20. I'm hoping that you guys might be able to help me with a few things I've been pondering over: How do I get Modman working with DCS? I try to find the .exe but its not visible in the bin folder (using the ruskie version) Can I use LO:FC skin mods in DCS:BS? Some lovely skins out there I'd hate not to have! I remember seeing a tweak regarding the water settings. I looked, but forgive me for being blind I couldn't find it lol , what difference does it make to the simulation and how do I do it? If anyone could help me clear these up I'd be very grateful! LoneWolf out! :pilotfly:
  21. This is annoying sometimes, shame there isn't a clock like in F4 where you can choose yourself weather you do a ramp start/taxi/takeoff, perhaps something to bear in mind for future modules?
  22. I know this is a bit early, but when the time comes and future modules are released i.e. DCS:Frogfoot or whatever they want to call it :p. Will clients in MP be able to pilot say Ka-50 and Su-25's? Will each module be stand alone or will it be possible to have a mixed group. In the 159th like a lot of sqn's we have a fighter wing and a strike wing... it would be a real shame if people were restricted to a single airframe in the future after other modules are released. If anyone would be able to clear this up it would be great.
  23. Only a dozen? Crikey, that isn't many! Barely a squadron really when you think about it... I'm guessing they've invested in other models in higher numbers? 12 gunships wouldn't make a lot of difference in a conflict, especially with good air defenses.
  24. That would be awesome, I really hope someone would be up for that. Ironhand, you out there buddy! ;)
  25. I think this is a fantastic idea and should get as much support as possible. I don't think any of us are under the illusion that this will be a simple sim to learn. I don't know much about the Ka-50 yet, but I would gladly help anyone else who had questions... count me in! :pilotfly:
