No Im talking about in the pic look at the area where our engine gauges are for the G14B It has that matte black 90s digital screen color much like the hornet engine instruments background color is. I def wasnt looking at the D or B(U)

The F14D cockpit I have a hunch from the aesthetivs was designed totally from pilot input. It looks like no fux were given for aesthetic - "I want my screens in my FACE, where else?!"

Nav>tacan (radio)>tune tac (radio)>tankers, awacs and carrier should shkw. Underneath your pilots radio dials you have your tacan right clicked 2x righr? So its vertical at T/R? Black knob under the ADF and radio chan dial -
Yep The gauges are DEFINITELY digital. Any 90s or 80s kid will immediately recognize that black screen. Thats a 80s or 90s era digital screen. Basic maybe color maybe not. But those engine bars and all that are measurdd digitally and it probably responds faster info wise. Its clear to me at least our engine instruments belonf in the A. Note 2 our RWR seems off. Our RWR seems too high it seems other stuff should be over it? Whats a F14B(U)?

I goto navigation tacan tune select the stennis. For it to show on the vdi and not the manual compass (which you should check - it shouldntbhe sending you to some airport) Nect all you do is select landing mode and click the next button after the sterrpoint button There es a row of buttons left to right. They deal with nav options. The 2nd is steerpoint and the most commonly used. If u hit the button after that itll turn it on TACAN and your normal compass rose that shows steerpoints will become a TACAN thing. Id also add that maybe it doesnt work in the VDI unless you select data link to the carrier too. However the manual compass will work alone. Maybe not VDI but you can have jester tune to that and steer off that and get range. Tbh the TACAN dial can be more accurate than your waypoints with a carrier sometimes - especially if youre low on fuel ignore the BRA calls they give you for inbound and fly straught where the TACAN points. That way you can land ASAP -
Ay yi yi. It worked migueL but just now for some reason.. the way pointsed me astray again! I waited until the carrier did a 180 as well! Also very weird. My lgbs wouldnt go boom :(

I do fine in il2. Im not always terrible in dcs. I got some gun kills. But ive had some embarrassingly bad tomcat fights against.. friggin Iranian mig29s (SOLO too) inndaytime and also sov mig 23s at nite. I just couldnt keep eyes on em. They took so long to kill me with labels theyd have been toast. But f the labels. One needs to perfect ones game and those are so gamey! Advice? I use the hell out of awacs. If i cud get more jester call outs I would and I got track IR. . Idk

Gents! Whilst I got shot down I flew to hit sam site 503 near the coast. Did NOT lalrer waypoints. Let the carrier turn 180 took about 5 min 25 seconds. Started up THEN. Waypoints are perfect If you want a script to set your take off time.5 min late to help wif escorts Miguel21 figured ALL this out I went down in flames without getting to the drop zone. But my INS led me correctly right to it - I had to fight 4 mig 23s and didnt win though. -
I think alot of this would make way more sense if we trained navy and ALWAYS flew REAL and 2 man aircraft I mean if backseat ALWAYS is doing radio with your RIO and navigatimg maybe he was too busy. Maybe it was a genuine oversight but not that important because IRL the guy can not only ask to you switch he can say "switch so I can look, then goto this so i can do d, then i feel like y, btw what is your opinion? Except as a team for months so its said in 5 words. We will never have anything near that. Some DCS players may near the hours in ALLL airframes flown but in any one type? And even so its still not real life. DCS is close but would YOU trust a dcs player with your life and get in the RIO seat? I wouldnt

Gentlemen its solved thanks to miguel21 Dont touch your cat. Hit f2 or watch in cocnpit backup compass. Give it 5 min tops. The carrier WILL stop turning. Then start up! -

Fellas I got the answer. If you were flying TF 68bor a new DCE mission. The carrier detects or the script derects a new plane. The cardier turns to the wind. May take 1 to 5 min. The advice is this - DONT start your engines until you see the bearing in your backup compass stop turning. Then begin! Hered the quote Hi, The Mbot file is this one Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\ScriptsMod\Mission Scripts\CarrierIntoWindScript.lua As soon as the script notices a spawn or an engine start or the presence of an airplane at less than 6000ft and 20km: it rotates to get into the wind (as in real life). It takes about 1mn to 5 mn, depending on whether he has to make a 5° or 180° turn. What I was doing: I'm calling ground crew to connect Ground Electric Power and Air Pressure I'm looking at the bearing on the BDHI When the bearing is steady, I start the engines and Jester starts INS alignment. -
Bdhi is backup compass to right of hud? Thanks man! So you had same problems until this?

Ok. But what youre also saying is if I do ALLL setup except start engines Jester wont start INS? I can kill 1 to 5 min. To be honest Im a little scared of messing with the files lol

Ill add miguel21 said its about the carrier turning. How the hell do I know when the carrier is dome turning and what do i not startup until then!? He said mbots got a script? Anyone? Pls?

Guys. Huge problem in TF68 80s and others have had it. Lantirn will know right WPs but the wps entered for missions (strikes) will take you wildly off course. Yes Ive added new wps also flown without toyching wps. I reflew to make sure I didnt forget I dis some 11 g maneucer and forgot. Somerhings drastically wrong here. I let jester totally tube the INS and cat. U followed the wps without meddling before and ended up over the caucauses 100nm ne of the target. Ive also tried addkng steerpoints sitting in deck and also in flight. Im careful to do it slow and have jester input one at a time. Interestingly this only seems to have happened in strikes. Im gonna review TF 68 and rry other missions - I do recall a mass scramvle that... had nothing theee. Everyone else landed. I decided to taunt the Russian AD network. After 45 min by chance a 4 ship of Tu142 s took off and paid dearly for it. But they WERE NOT coming from the bearing given in briefing and frankly dont think they were what the scramble was for!

@Miguel21 Hello? On the F14 forum guysbare saying they had a prob putting in a ST before taxiing. Ive had this problem without doing so but Im one man. Can yoy plz tell me about Mbots script or HOW you know when the carriers turned into the wind? Im not being sarcastic. How long does it take? And how dar off soes ot throw my ToT

The slider control definitely helped. Im ising a logitech 3dpro so my throttle is legit 3 inches. The slider allows it to feel like irs 9 inches or so. Much more granular. Thanks for the tutorial.tips. Ive watched about 5 so far. At this point its either A. Become a RIO and fly online only B practice practice practice C ig ore the problem excepr occasionally where ill practice 2 hrs then break stuff in a rage. C will probably happen. Eventually I ver I refuel. The boom WOULD be easier IMHO
