Thanks for the reply I use oculus rift and I would like to get these camera rotations in real time and not on the replay So let’s say I have the oculus on my face and I’m looking straight in front of me Now let’s say I have a track ir connected to my computer (I don’t have one but I need to understand if this works before buying one) So let’s say I have track ir also connected to my computer and I have it in my hand and I rotate it with my hand Would the image in my oculus rotate as well even if physically I haven’t moved my head? It might seem a strange question but... Imagine setting up the Ctrl-f11 camera at the same speed of your aircraft and this camera flying parallel to your aircraft Now if what I just asked works, I rotate the track ir 90 degrees left or right and my camera is flying parallel to my aircraft but I’m looking from a side directly to the aircraft It would be pretty cool I think

@Glowing Amraam The other day when you answered my post I didn't realise you are the one who made all those amazing videos Wow hats off you sir! Anyway I listened to your suggestion and I went back and checked again CTRL-F11 camera and actually I can do most of the things I wanted to do. It’s a bit difficult because it’s controlled with the mouse Example Pause the sim Hit F2 camera and place it in front of the aircraft and then hit CTRL-F11 Use mouse wheel to accelerate the camera backward more or less to the speed of the aircraft and unpause the sim Now I am in front of the aircraft and adding or reducing thrust I can bring my aircraft closer or further away from my camera The same goes from behind Pause the sim Hit F2 and place the camera behind the aircraft and hit CTRL-F11 Use mouse wheel to accelerate the camera more or less to the speed of the aircraft and unpause the sim and now I follow the aircraft from the back and decelerating I bring the aircraft next to my camera The problem I find with this process is that when the sim is paused I have to guessextimate how many turns I have to go with the mouse wheel to give the camera the right speed Is there a way to see how fast the camera is travelling when the sim is paused? And the last question is... Does Ctrl-f11 camera travel only in one directions? I mean forward/backwards? What I’m trying to achieve is make the Ctrl-F11 camera travel in one direction but I want to look in a different direction, let’s say 90 degrees left or right I’m using rift and obviously I know I can turn my head 90 degrees left or right but it’s very uncomfortable Instead what I’m trying to achieve is camera travelling in one direction but let’s say oriented 90 degrees L/R but as soon as I move the mouse left or right the velocity vector of the camera changes and the camera starts to travel in this new direction Sorry for the long post I’m not interested in making videos and I’m not even able to say it all What I’m trying to do is to achieve these visuals in real time while flying

Quick question After 2.5.2 OB update 2 I deleted Fxo and metashaders2 folders thinking that DCS would recompile them as usual at the next start But after I loaded the sim and used it I checked if the new files had been recompiled in Fxo and metashaders2 And I found metashaders2 folder empty Nothing is there But the sim works fine actually Is this even possible? Am I missing something? Does DCS still use metashaders2 or not? Also I remember in the past the folder was called metashaders and not metashaders2 Has something changed here also?

Hello Glowing amraam Thanks for your answer Yes what I am describing is the functionality of the F2 camera added to the F3 (flyby) camera I know how to use the CTRL-F3 and F11/CTRL-F11 cameras, I learned them reading this same thread so thanks to Bucic and all the others for posting here this info. It's unfortunate we don't have this feature in this sim, xplane had it in the past, definitely it was there in xplane 6 and 7, but I don't know about now. But I tell you, it was pretty amazing what you could do. You could achieve very nice visuals in real time while you where flying but without this feature the only way to achieve those visuals is making a video out of your flight.
-
Hello Bucic Can you better explain me what you are referring to? I can’t understand
-
Hello Guys I have a question for the views experts. As far as I can see and understand, there is no way to rotate the camera when in F3 (flyby) Or am I wrong? Anybody knows if this is possible? What I would like to achieve is to move the camera in F3 around the aircraft in a circular way as it had 6dof left and right, up and down, these would be moved in circle having as center the aircraft and plus forward and backwards allowing to get the camera closer or further away from the aircraft. Why? Because this gives the observer the possibility to view the aircraft from different angles and it's pretty nice specially during aerobatics or anyway high alpha manoeuvres done by high performance aircraft like the F18 for example It really shows of what kind of performance the aircraft is capable of.

Just my two cents here ED wants dcs to be a hardcore sim for the hardcore simmers and also more of a game for the less hardcore guys Nothing wrong with that and nothing wrong with fc version of existing aircraft But Please ED don’t lose focus on the hardcore part of Dcs because in that case the hardcore simmers will not stay or support anymore and you will be left with the gamers only... Do we remember Microsoft with it’s microsoft flight? Didn’t go well, did it?

I confirm that closing down oculus home doesn't stop the oculus service at all. In fact make sure you don't have your oculus home set to be loaded at win startup start your computer and go to resources manager or whatever is called and you will see the oculus service running. I also confirm that now with version 1.25 I have NO oculus window open on my screen when DCSW is running. Oculus home is not running at all! The only thing I run is oculus tray tool to set ASW off but only after DCSW is already running and I'm sitting in the cockpit
-
I opted out from the oculus beta this afternoon as I reported here. It works perfectly for me I have the oculus home.exe set as run as administrator. I load DCSW and the oculus turns on as normal without oculus home being loaded When I opted out from the oculus beta I turned off 2 options, one is to opt out from the beta and I think the other is to switch off the core 2.0 Can't be sure about the exact name of the two options because I'm not at the computer where I have the oculus installed at the moment. But It definitely works
-
Yes confirmed As dburne says the only way to use the rift without oculus home open is to opt out from beta and not use the 1.26 version Hopefully they will fix this, also curious for the answer from them

Hello f4I0 I have a question for you. Have you by any chance tried the MB339 mod? The MB339 adds some lines of code to the export.lua but also retains the jetseat lines inside the export.lua, anyway the jetseat with this modified export.lua for some reason doesn't work. May be you are not supporting mods, fair enough if this is the case. I just tought I would ask. -

Ok here is the results Disabled game mode via registry and still stutters Uninstalled geforce experience and uninstalled nvidia drivers using ddu, and then reinstalled latest nvidia driver, physix and still stutters Opted out from beta in oculus and now I'm able again to load DCSW with rift without the need to run oculus home and.... NO stutters! I still don't know if the problem was the beta software or the extra load on the cpu created by oculus home but now it's fixed, at least until they make version 1.26 stable, then we will see.. And the last thing, I confirm I'm able to switch ASW off from tray tool without having oculus home running, and ASW doesn't come back. Thanks dburne for your help sir, you made my day
-
mmm I also use oculus tray tool and I was able to apply my settings even if oculus home was off. In fact the only thing I've ever done with oculus tray tool has always been to disable asw The way i was doing it before this oculus update.. Run DCSW and then ctrl alt canc, open oculus tray tool and set asw as disabled then went back to DCS and Lalt return for fullscreen that's it, and all without oculus home
-
Wow thanks for that What I will do is Turn off game mode and I will try DCS Then uninstall nvidia drivers, uninstall geforce experience, reinstall the driver and I will try DCS If at this point I still have stutters it can be only oculus software running I guess I will report when done
-
Thanks for the answer dburne For sure oculus home is taking some resources away and i would prefer not to have it running. Since a week i have some micro stutters in dcsw that i didnt have before Unfortunately in this week my win 10 updated, oculus updated, dcsw updated and nvidia drivers updated Trying to find the reason of the microstutters is not an easy task with all these updates, it could be nything really... But i still suspect the stutters are due to oculus Home now running I hope they go back as how it Was before

Hello Guys I have the Rift core 2.0 beta ticked on in oculus software Anyway my oculus software is updated to version 1.26 it says. Shouldn't it be showing 2.0 having the core 2.0 beta set to on in the oculus software? May be I'm misunderstanding something... Second question, few days ago oculus software updated itself, I have oculus home set to "run as administrator" not to have home start when I start DCSW but now with this new update DCS runs, the oculus tracking works, but the lenses are blacked out, I see nothing. If I load oculus home and then start DCS everything runs normally So, is it no more possible to use the rift without oculus home running? Thanks for the Help

Don’t understand this war between vr and non vr users Can’t everybody use whatever they use and live with the fact that others may be prefer to use something else? All this fight is useles and distracts from the scope of this thread that is discussion on cv2

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
gianlu320 replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi guys Please I just have a question Has anybody with the jetseat and simshaker for aviator tried the new Mb339 mod? After installing the Mb339 my jetseat stops completely working What the Mb339 installer does is to replace the original export.lua file with a new one. The new created export.lua file has a lot of staff of the mb339 and in the end it copies the SSA lines but the jetseat stops working completely and doesn't work anymore with no plane. If I recopy the original SSA export.lua the jetseat works perfectly with all the planes apart from the Mb339 but I can't use the Mb339 because the export.lua file doesn't have the lines of code necessary to make it work properly. Anybody experienced the same? -
DCS Mod: MB-339A/PAN by Frecce Tricolori Virtuali
