I think this is not a bad idea

Yes this is really good. A boarding ladder would be a great addition

I agree Very uncomfortable at the moment That flickering is just terrible, I also close my eyes otherwise I feel sick

Never heard you could motion compensate with WMR headset, specially if they are inside out tracking. I use a pimax and I finally made motion compensation work. Not many people here use motion platforms. You might get a bit more help on xsimulator forum I hope you can find a way, good luck

I also like taxiing with the canopy open. And I went further I bought the simracingstudio wind system It is compatible with DCS world and you can configure it in this way.. When the canopy is closed there is no wind and when you open the canopy the wind starts and increases proportionally with your speed. The system was built with racing simulators in mind but it's fully adjustable so it works well also at low taxi speeds and in VR is very immersive.

Just read pcpilot n125 There is an interview with Wags there He states the free map will be in the Pacific region

@Karika Thanks a lot for your help. Actually I have seen what you wrote just now but it's too late. This afternoon I was able to fix it. The way I made it work was to rotate the Vive tracker till I saw the correct image inside the headset. It works perfectly, so motion compensation in the pimax works 100% After about one year, today I had the best flight on my motion platform!

Sorry to revive this old thread. I hope somebody can help. I have been using my pimax 5k+ for the past 7 or 8 months and I actually have no complaints. I also have a 4 Dof motion platform and till now I have used that with no motion compensation. Now I bought a vive tracker and installed it behind my seat and both Pimax and the tracker are in view of my single lighthouse v1 My problem is this.. When I activate the motion compensation in pitools my view is not centred anymore and I can’t centre it with numpad 5. No way to recentre my view. When I activate motion compensation I instantly find myself looking at the seat pan of the aircraf. I haven’t installed Vr imput emulator, I don’t think it’s needed but I am unsure. I figured I would try to ask here before messing with this. I wouldn’t want to mess things even more than what they are now. Any thoughts anybody?

Currently as far as I know there is no way to do motion compensation with inside-out tracking systems. You need a headset that is tracked by a basestation. At the moment Vive and vive pro, index and pimax offer motion compensation. No other

@Tom Kazansky First of all I want to thank you because thanks to you I now have hopes to fix my problem. Before you posted in this thread I didn’t even know what to write in the forum to explain my problem because I didn’t even understand the problem itself. Can I ask you a favour? I am a total noob with software etc.. Could you explain me what exactly I have to set in AHK? Once again thanks a lot !

I have a similar problem with the 4 rotaries of the F16 ICP and now I finally understand why thanks to this thread. I am using an ICP replica that has also the four rotaries. The rotaries I use send a key press to the computer. When I am in the key assignment page in dcs and I move the rotary, dcs registers the key press. If I open a word document and I move the rotary I can see the key assigned to that rotary being written in the word document. But when I am in game and I move the rotaries, they are not registered by the sim and they don’t move.

Anyone come across this beast?
gianlu320 replied to Alligin's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
I have seen that as well some time ago It’s on NTTR map Don’t know the exact position but it’s south east of Rachel -
I was trying to do the same. I would like to assign keyboard keys to the Rwr (twp panel) and twa panel but no matter what key you assign to them they don’t work in cockpit Only mouse interaction at the moment. Any success anybody’s?

Yes the problem was I didn't correctly set the small displays resolution, they are 800x600. That plus setting the image coordinates manually did the trick. Thanks ! Now I have another problem I correctly export the two mfds but instead of being black, they are transparent and I can see the world of DCS world with on top the MFD @tomasm123 reported the same problem in this same thread page3 post 28 Any thoughts on this one? Edit I fixed it In windows display setup you have to place the two little monitors where you display the MFDs under the main monitor where DCSW is displayed
-
I have downloaded DCS virtual cockpit server and played with it a bit. I can move the MFD from my main display to my little lcd behind the thrustmaster MFD frame. The problem I have is.. i resize the MFD image but when I transfer the image on the little display behind the thrustmaster bezel I can't make it square. If I want to use the full area horizontally, the image will be much bigger than the bezel vertically. So Part of the image is outside of the bezel vertically. Any ideas?
-
Hello Guys You all seem to know a lot about exporting instruments. I just assembled screens behind my thrustmaster mfds but I have no idea on how to export F16 left and right mfd. Can you please point me to the right direction? Thanks a lot
-
Yes please for a throttle with the correct idle cut off detents And Yes for an ICP !!
-
Thanks for your answer No they are not seen as a joystick axis but as a keyboard press Every notch you turn is seen as a keypress, actually every two notches are a keypress. the first notch does nothing and the second is a keypress then third nothing and fourth again is the same keypress and so on. I assigned up and down in DCS and when I assign them DCS sees the keypress in the button assignment page but when I then enter the viper they don't work. if I assigh them to any other switch in dcs they work and they correctly turn the switch on and off
-
@tekadept Amazing work you did there! I have a question if you don't mind.. How did you manage to map the potentiometers to work with the rotaries in dcs world? I have a viperwing icp and it doesn't use potentiometers, it uses some kind of encoder, and the software that comes with it lets you map the rotation of the encoder to a keyboard keypress. So every notch gives a keypress to the keyboard. The problem is... If I open a word document and I turn them, I can see the keypresses. Then I go into DCS and the keypress is correctly recognized in the imput assignments. Then I go into the F16 and when I turn the encoders, the icp rotaries don't turn, they don't work no matter what. But If I try to map my rotaries to any switch in the aircraft, they work flawlessly, I can turn on and off any switch no problem. Have you come across this problem? I don't want to hijack your building log but since you built the icp yourself I thought I would ask. Thanks a lot

Thank you very mutch Andre Will do it. I've just checked and the WD40 is silicon lubricant so I will go for it.

Please can somebody help? I have one of the motors of my jetseat that doesn't work properly. I inspected it and initially it was not turning at all, then I tried to spin it with my hands and it started spinning but at a lower rate compared to the others. All the cables are intact so I think it's a lubrication problem. Could I use the WD40? Also I can't really figure where to lubricate

DCS World CINEMATIC CAMERA!!!!!!!
gianlu320 replied to grammaton_feather's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It would be very nice if we could control the F3 camera the same way we control the F2 camera. I mean, being able to move the camera up, dn, left and right plus also being able to zoom on the aircraft to bring the camera close to it. It would be very nice. -
Wow thanks a lot! You have been super helpful I was already thinking about Tusba but didn't know about the DX button activation. Thanks
