  1. Cool! It figures, that's the one place I wouldn't/didn't look. I knew you guys and/or gals would have in-game credits somewhere. At any rate, Happy Holidays to all at ED! :santa:...even if I/we don't receive my/our X-mas present in the form of B4, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed non the less. Cheers!
  2. Wow...that's crazy. Way more people involved then I thought. I also can't believe that many people have been banned from the boards. Thanks! I was just having one of those deep thought moments as I sipped my morning coffee.
  3. NONE! That's a hardware problem!:D I was wondering how big is the team on the entertainment side of ED. How many people do they have working on the DCS titles? Is it like five poor guys with caffeine drip IV bags wired to electrodes? I don't recall seeing any credits...unless...they were at the end of the game manuals. Guess I'll check(Black Shark), but that could always have changed since then, does anybody know off hand? I was just curious how many people it takes to bring sims like A-10C to life.
  4. This has just got me wondering does the A-10 have the capability of dropping a nuclear load? Say the B83? :D I know it's not intended to do so, but would it in theory be possible?
  5. The pain of patiently waiting to give you my money @ Beta 4 is excruciating. Can you give us/me a hint when it will be released? Two weeks? Checking 10 times a day is getting a little old, but I'm looking forward to an excellent product. :D
  6. LOL!!! Nice. Too Funny.:megalol:
  7. "The Nevada terrain has been taken out of the beta for the moment, since it still needs lots of work. Also won't be included in the initial release, but will be added in a later patch."
  8. SPACE PROBE NUMBER 1 I think that would be an awesome idea! How hard would it be to model a flying saucer and skin it as a new UFO aircraft for the Nevada map? The Air Force already has one at Groom Lake see Wikileaks photos below. Make it insanely fast...faster then a missle, so it would be hard to take down, or impossible to shoot down because of the advanced shield technology. (no damage model needed) It would make a cool drone type target. It's not too late! It's still a WIP. :music_whistling:
  9. It's $59.99 to have a good time. Your paying to pre-order the game, the Beta is a bonus.
  10. I'm eagerly awaiting to "pre-order" at the Beta 4 release, does anybody have a guesstimate about when that will be? Pretty soon right?
  11. Thank you for all your continued hard work! I know it's a beta. I'm picky when it comes to sound. I want to squeeze the trigger and everytime I hear that GAU-8 go off I want it to sound so sweet it puts a very large smile on my face. Of all the sounds to get right it has to be the trademark sound of the GAU-8, of which the A-10 was built around that I care about the most. It sounded like you guys maybe tweaked the external a bit recently? It sounds pretty good! I don't have the beta yet, but will very soon. Thanks again, looking forward to the finished product.
  12. I wish there was! I've watched the A-10's at Shaw AFB on their firing range in SC. It's an awesome thing that's still burned in my mind. It's an amazing sound. There is no way it sounds that "tin canned" in the cockpit. That GAU-8 is crazy. In flight firing in-cockpit has to be insane. Maybe someone can convince a Hog driver to use a hi-quality digital voice recorder while firing in-cockpit while in flight. They can fit one in a small pocket. All it takes is a press of the button.
  13. One thing is, the audio (real life gun cam video) is being recorded by the pilots tiny vocal conderser mic, it's designed to only pick up a certain vocal frequency range of sound to eliminate background noise, i.e engines etc. My point is, what it sounds like to the pilot in-cockpit, is not what it sounds like on the narrow bandwith A/V recording. So the the in-cockpit sound in game is inaccurate.
  14. Here's a lame HOTAS video on my chair. Don't judge me, I'm renting a trailer in BFE nowhere...there are no apartment complexes where I live. Anyway, disregard the beer and the sweatpants on the floor. Video here
  15. My video will take a bit longer then I thought I added some stuff to my chair since then. No arms would be a problem. (Buy a new chair?) I just wanted to pass on lessons learned. Check back in 3-4 hours?
  16. It's my personal design. Maybe I should patent them?:D I'll throw a quick demo video together, it's basic but I had to put a little thought into it, I made a few mods since these pics were taken to include a mouse platform and a removeable keyboard pedestal.
  17. Something like this perhaps?
  18. Me too! Maybe it's been brought up in the Beta forum. I haven't bought the current version yet, I wanted to wait until a couple of builds down the road. I was curious if the real GAU8 needs some spool up time or not before firing?
  19. I was making the "what the" face when I first heard it too. It sounds pretty "beta" -I hope. It really takes me out of the sim. It just sounds fake. FYI. it sounds the same in cockpit. It contrast, the engines sound awesome, so maybe it'll get some attention too.
  20. This was a joke reference to a movie quote from George Lucas's "THX-1138", of which the trailer can be on youtube. Buy more, buy more now...and be happy. :shifty:
  21. If paying a slightly higher price point ensures that there will be a next DCS module to come, then we should all "Buy more, BUY MORE NOW...and be happy."
  22. Is it just me, or does the voice-over guy sound like a cross between Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager (Tim Russ) and Obama (you know, the current president) mixed together? :)
  23. Thank you for the signage! Very nice detail. Love the grass growing out of the taxiway.
  24. Is there any way our new A-10C's can be tricked out with some cool ladder door art...like these?
  25. I have no idea, but here is the only other pic I could find. I bet that crew chief was pissed.
