Doesn't A-10C feel more flight capable in real life?
A10Yoda replied to Worrazen's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Extremely rare and I bet his other pylons are barren.. Very mission specific. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -
Lead aligned left to ensure enough room on runway for correction. 2 get's to watch and angle across runway to help with wind correction. Both know that wake and turbulence will not affect them in those conditions as the wind was so strong any and all conditions would have been blown off runway with that spacing. Both seemed to be very experienced pilots.. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Here you can actually see a good representation of how fast it can be displaced by wind. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Copy.. I will try it out with AI Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I have not thoroughly tried and tested DCS's however one thing that comes to mind is that most servers generally have weather turned off. Having natural weather conditions will improve conditions as it will displace heated air and turbulent conditions. The carrier's I would assume (not a Navy guy) would not have as much of an issue as the carrier's are generally moving several knotts to stay in wind and steady the boat. Weather always takes a factor in landings and takeoffs. Air Force and Navy I would assume have different operating procedures. If you are asking about the A10 it is designed to handle pretty nasty weather and flies extremely well in any weather. Landing however is not a large issue as you do not have the volume of wake as you would from a large volume engine pushing massive amounts of air from an engine at a higher RPM. As far as takeoffs, again the wake would largely depend on the engine's thrust against your aircraft's control surfaces where tipping could occur. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Well.. that depends how YOU want to do it. If you want them to launch from ramp start or already spawn hot in air. From there, it would be switching to their radio comm channel and request them to follow... I would give the F15's a couple waypoints and a final waypoint at a RTB with a RTB on Bingo rule. Make sure their role is selected to Combat Air Patrol and they are loaded mission specific with enough fuel to accomplish the area covered in your mission and they have a waypoint stretching beyond your strike area. This made me lol.. It was always much easier to check in on radio and be told which ordinance to use.. [emoji631][emoji106] Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

LASTE data tables were done on a preflight with "PREDICTED" weather at the potential target location for estimated time of arrival. This was done in case the A10C Pitot Boom probe on the starboard end of the wing became non-functional you would have approximate values to improve accuracy. Having these values would improve CCRP drop accuracy as CCRP is designed for higher altitude release points. CCIP releases are not affected by wind as much due to their pre-release dive angles and lower altitude release point. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Help please - AGM and hitting a moving target
A10Yoda replied to 0414 Wee Neal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Point mode is great for moving targets. The track mode will help keep an updating SPI on the target. When attempting to lock on with the MAV, make sure you are getting a clean track by getting a lock through TMS up short only, not force correlate (rocking the boat switch). IR for night ops.. Electromagnetic Lens for day ops.. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -

Additionally not every A10's performance is the same including left and right engines. A few guys would split thrust on some of the older engines as they degrade. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -

I would agree on the drag issues but engine performance feels normal to me.. I would go further than just pylon drag and contribute it to the boxy block trimming to a stick over the subtle yoke.. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -

Not accurate. The aircraft's speed did not cause the aircraft to "breakup". It did have some issues where air would over power the hydraulics in earlier A10's and cause the aircraft to become uncontrollable in an over speed dive. Some of that has been corrected and some of it has not. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -

This is accurate. The main difference in DCS is the flight structure has way more flex in it's wings and is not as rugged and stiff as you see in DCS. Nor do you ever see pylons stacked with 3 Mavericks, 3 bombs, and all the other mass quantity munitions. The A10 is a workhorse but their wings suffer severe load stress when overloaded and you would almost never see them loaded like 90% of the community of DCS. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -
For me I prefer the Rift S. Not sure if it has something to do with graphics card settings etc or the brightness like others stated. The Reverb while clean had a uncomfortable glow on HUD and MFD's. The Rift S for me was the way to go but I do know results will vary and so do preferences. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Rift S is my preference because of the immersion factor and clarity. However, some people prefer the reverb because they get motion sickness from the 3d render Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I have used both the HP Reverb and the Oculus Rift S. The clarity on both is amazing compared to generations before. The HP Reverb does have a sharper clarity when it came to text but it seemed extremely marginal to me for the $200+ price difference. Both are superb devices but the next big jump in VR will not come from picture quality but software for natural hand/environment manipulation. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
