  1. Interesting thought vortex, it's 7am new years day here and I only stopped drinking 3 hours ago and for some reason I am having some trouble trying to think about this but are you sure it's vrs or just loading the blades up to much to fast? When I sober up (loz be a while) I will try and think about this some more :) BTW for those who wish I have attached the mission. FreeFlight_Max_Turb.miz
  2. Not sure if it does what you are asking but I noticed this in config/views/View.lua.. CockpitMouse = true --false CockpitMouseSpeedSlow = 1.0 CockpitMouseSpeedNormal = 10.0 CockpitMouseSpeedFast = 20.0 CockpitKeyboardAccelerationSlow = 5.0 CockpitKeyboardAccelerationNormal = 30.0 CockpitKeyboardAccelerationFast = 80.0 CockpitKeyboardZoomAcceleration = 300.0 DisableSnapViewsSaving = false UseDefaultSnapViews = false CockpitPanStepHor = 45.0 CockpitPanStepVert = 30.0 CockpitNyMove = true Never modified them so they may or may not do what you want :)
  3. Heheh yeah the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W must be very very sweet :)
  4. Yeah I just logged on and noticed that. It must be a delayed thing?
  5. lol that is kinda kewl. Freaking awesome if you attended lans a lot. Imagine unfolding that sucker and watching the eyes pop and wtf's spoken left and right :)
  6. Well ...err... no :D http://www.helis.com/howflies/groures.php
  7. Hehhe non of that actually points to easier or harder, just a damn site safer and BTW I could be considered somewhat odd, I refused to use the computer sim gear. I played on this thing all the time. I wanted to smash the real thing up. Not only did I learn how to fly the thing around I also learned how to rebuild the whole thing... ahhh good times :D
  8. Thats mainly because it is insanely maneuverable to the point of virtually instantaneous movement to the control inputs, has stuff all inertia, you have no sensory feed back, weird ass wtf controls and half the time the controls have to be used backwards :) I have been told a couple of times around the traps that it is in fact harder to fly an rc helicopter then it is a real one. While I actualy susspect this is true (I did learn to fly one of the little buggers, lost interest once I could hover and move it around tho hahah) I have zero time in a real helicopter.
  9. Hehe could be worse... Mitsubishi Starion Turbo (Stallion Turbo) and Donkey Kong (Monkey Kong) spring to mind. They got stuck with the cock ups :)
  10. That would be your monitors/drivers/hardware max settings and not a limitation of the sim.
  11. Hehehe because it is actually quite common for people not to see it even when they are looking straight at it. I can laugh because I am one of those people:doh:
  12. There was a thread I was in last night that I can not for the life of me remember but the conversation got around to "dancing around on the pedals" and I suggested custom mission and making the weather fair to completely crappy for some nice dancing :) Anyway I said I would throw up a video and went into a mission I have specifically for this. I have the wind set at 25 m/s at roughly 90 degress to the strip and the turbulence maxed at 6 m/s. A put a heap of ramblings up in the "more info" if you are interested in that stuff but the video you may find mildly amusing. BTW It looks like the HD option of watching the vid is hit and miss. Same format as my last one but there is no "watch in HD" option and I readme says they are tweaking it and you may not get it... obviously I didn't :) Mission for those who want to play http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=23210&d=1230757884
  13. Wow found this on page 3 so technically this could be called a bump :)
  14. Hehe it is yobbo fun, trying to do a little movie of it but fraps is playing up.
  15. No idea sorry, I only use fraps. (Heh at least I bumped your post)
  16. hehe no worries slayer. Lucky it is a sim as I have died hundreds of times learning to fly like an idiot with many many "bad habbits" :)
  17. Hehe you can actually get the exact same effect as LTE even tho you don't have one. Knock a couple of feet off the top or bottom rotor set and watch as you attempt to push one of your rudder pedals threw the wall. I clipped a building and went into a spin, had the fight of my life and survived (Not much left of the shark tho). I sat here for a second and then thought "coooooool" Vortex I have something that may give you what you search for. I too love to dance. Open the editor, create a mission, put your chopper in ready for take off and run up on the strip. Put turbulence to max, put in an idiotic cross wind that would ground a real shark (Not the cross wind, just the wind speed, cross wind becomes obvious next) Now try and hover just off the deck and keep it aligned with the strip. Prepare to dance, it is great fun :)
  18. Aledmb, keep flying on the edge man, it's more fun :D Anyway do you use a FFB joystick? If you don't like me then the following may explain why you chew up the rotors.... With a FFB joystick when you trim the stick stays where it is. For example you have a lot of pressure and the stick is a fare way over to the right and you hit trim it will stay a fare way over to the right. WITHOUT a FFB joystick when you hit trim you have to get the stick back to neutral in a very short amount of time or else what you in effect do is trim the aircraft and then from the sims point of view instantly slam in however much you trimmed by. A good way to see this is to take off and hover a couple of feet off the deck. Get it in a stable hover and then trim. If you recenter the stick in the correct amount of time then in effect the chopper won't move. If you fail the chopper will pitch forward. Now imagine that at critical speeds. If you don't have FFB it is something you will just have to learn but it's not hard once you recognise what the problem is. Hope that helps.
  19. While there is a lot of things that are debatable I know a couple of things that I can safely call facts... I never ever had to look at the yaw ball/string to know if I was flying co-ordinated. I didn't require a machine beeping like a madman to know I had hit or was approaching VNE, or stall... etc. "Seat of your pants" while not being the be all and end all was in fact very very important. Most of my information did infact come from my ass :D
  20. Heh I love to fly it as well and as an added bonus the damn thing has weapons for when I get bored :D
  21. EDIT: Or do what DTWD said :) Mind you I did not have to compensate, fraps'd no problems with no slow downs.
  22. Hehhe that must have really sucked :)
  23. I think he has a point in pointing out the fact that if you touch water the helicopter does not behave as it should. I too would like it to do what it should when it hits water, the same as I would like it to do what it would in real life if it hits a tree etc However in saying that it will never be changed in this engine because as far as I understand it this engine is eventually going to be replaced by something that isn't years old. So I'm with you mate, I want wet feet and fish pissing out the door. Just not in this engine :)
  24. This thread will probably help you on your way... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35492 from the Mods and add-ons forum... http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=89 With probably more stuff :)
