Systems failure...Random or scripted?
Shrubbo replied to Jarhead0331's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
In response to System failures, random or scripted... If I remember correctly from the editor you can set it so X can fail between this time and that time with a probability of Y of it actually happening. So yeah scripted with variables. -
I am running a matrox tripplehead2go at a resolution of 4320x900 with Blackshark. I have pulled back the FOV with the usual key commands as far as it will go and the result are very impressive, hell it almost looks like it is real size (3x24 inch monitors) but I am not completly happy with the FOV. Re: attached picture Is there any way to pull back the fov a little bit more to I can get in a bit more of the cockpit into the FOV?

oooooooooooh its still going, press stop and start on the player. Seems they switch streams for the different shows. An f18 group is just firing up their engines now.
-
However I just read Hawgs post so strike the server load bit :D
-
Didn't come up for me for a while either wolf. I am not completely sure if it just wasn't streaming at the time or it was just server load. Got it in the end and was well worth it.

Agreed, I think I read somewhere "There is no such thing as virtual skill". They may be virtual pilots but there was plenty of real skills shown. I hope I am up in time tomorrow to catch all of the last show. Awesome.
-
There is huge potential for interactive porn :megalol:
-
You dont need to be registered to watch the stream. I only just registered then so I could *clap :)
-
Might be virtual but the skills are not. I'm impressed.
-
Nah got it, I was refreshing and reading the chat and by some of the tears worked out nothing was streaming at that point in time. So I just waiting. Worth the wait, this is awesome !

Finally, something I'm good at! So I'm gonna brag...

Start the editor, set turbulence to max, crank the wind right up to "grounded" levels. When the sim starts and is paused click off all the auto pilot stuff. Un-pause and grab the controls and regain control as it has been blown off the ground, hover that!!! :joystick: I swear to god I was covered in sweat after a session of "Keep it over the numbers as low and long as you can". For added amusement pick a time when you want to land (Mistakes don't count, real men have the gear up as well when trying to hover doing this) and then try to land. Once down try and keep it on the ground and shut the engines down. As the rotors slow down laugh with maniacal glee as there is not enough centrifugal force to stop the turbulence from inter meshing the blades but they are still way fast enough to smash each other off. For the super keen start the engines again and see how you go with what is left. I do love the FM  -
YEah I know, my browser doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with it. Tryiny to work it out.

Stink! I totaly forgot about this :(

Yeah start trackIR.... ....in the available profiles double click the one you use (I think the default one would be flight, you can alt-tab out of BS and see what one it is useing if you are not sure) ....click the hot keys tab Then you will see Pause, Center and Precision. ....Click the "Change" button next to "Center" and press whatever button you want to use or combo of button. Done.

Can a single Geforce 260 support a 40" LCD?
Shrubbo replied to SunDown's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Temp is sitting at 58 right now, was 67 5 mins ago with 1 screen running windows media player and digital tv, middle monitor these forums and some tv shows coming down the pipe in the right one, 4320x900. It is also a pretty hot and muggy day, the web says its 25c and 82% humidity. Possibly a little optimistic. Doesn't help that this room faces the afternoon sun and if the fan broke down I would be out of here real quick :) I'll let it settle for a bit then run the game and see what happens, will go get a drink ! Ok 56c it seems to be stable at, ill boot BS. LOL, just ran BS for 15 minutes and it registered 78c, best not touch:smilewink: -
Can a single Geforce 260 support a 40" LCD?
Shrubbo replied to SunDown's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No probs, I was running 1920x1200 and I think the only real bottleneck was the cpu. I'm now running 4320x900 and while not as fast it is still not bad at all. In fact I am rather impressed with the gtx260 -
Heh tactics, real, not real, who cares. I just hope in the new engine that I am realistically punished for stuffing up big time. Black Shark to me feels and looks like the genuine article. It "feels" real and I have clocked up quite a few hours just flying the thing around and finding it's limits. BUT....screwing up and flying thru a tree and nothing happens shatters the whole feel of the thing but that is ok. I knew this before I bought it so that's the way it is. No tears there. However I would like to see the virtual world that this virtual machine flies thru to one day seem as real as the chopper itself seems..... Regardless of what tactics are right or wrong.

They are definitely there. I don't really know how active they are apart from shooting but they are definitely there.

When selecting the payload in the mission editor you will see a drop down box at the bottom right that is usually set to standard. Click that and you will see all the different skins you can use. ...or I could actually read what the post said in the first place :D
-
in bin/stable there is a file called protect.exe. Run that and deactivate then uninstall/add hardware/whatever and then you can re-activate I believe. Please note I have not actually tried this myself but I think that is how to do it.... or I could be 100% wrong :)

Trains are odd as well. I remember watching the vid "fun with trains" and I thought that was cool. Then I got the sim and found that doesn't actually work anymore. The train stops dead as soon as you touch it... with obvious ensuing problems :joystick:

...and you disabled U.A.C. before you installed BS right?? Because it won't make a shortcut if UAC is on, and if UAC is on it will install, but no shortcuts.... and no worky :) In msconfig/tools/..... Click Disable UAC and then click "Launch"

Obviously not everywhere ;)
