released to early access Cold War Germany discussion
Dawgboy replied to Rick Mave's topic in DCS: Cold War Germany
Agreed...I don't know if there are Autobahn runways planned for the CW map, but I'd like to see a few robust autobahn runways modeled after real-life areas, with all the hotpit refueling, rearming, ATC, etc. This would add to the realism and enthusiasm for the map and its potential scenarios. Thanks for your time. -

released to early access Cold War Germany discussion

Oh...I know that's a bridge too far, having full fidelity flyable modules. I'm just happy with static, even happier with models flown by AI. -
What's the chance we'll get DCS-official static C-5/Galaxy and C-141/Starlifter, the latter with both short and stretch versions, please? It would be great and authentic if they also flew as AI; even having them there for ramp ambience would be a step in the right Cold War direction. Is this on the roadmap?

I was wondering if I can use my Bluetooth Bose earbuds for sound...just wondering if the mic will be ok with DCS-SRS/BMS-IVC; I'll have to test. I have an Arctis over-the-ear wireless set that works very well, but it has my TrackIR semi-permanently attached. It won't work with a VR headset.

The latest from a PIMAX production status email:

Is this delay due to inadequate sound from DMAS?

I'm not an expert on the GPUs, at least not iterations within a series. I've read enough good about the NVIDIA 4xxx series, but somebody else would have to comment. I went best of breed, just to keep me from having to agonize over this decision. My PC maker helped confirm this for future-proofing...I want to get 5-6 years out of this rig, if not more. I went with 1000W power supply cuz my 800W wasn't enough for what I was running on my old system, so I stayed with that size on my new rig. The rest looks good for your price range, IMHO.

Agreed, especially larger. I was told to keep speeds up, put the sims on the drive with the O/S. I have BMS, DCS, MSFS, and IL2, and I went with 4TB M2 SSD. @axas I really struggled with the GPU pick: AMD or NVIDIA. Studied it and agonized for over a year. I had an AMD for 7-8 years, but I always ran into NVIDIA's tech being factored into code first...leaving me always behind and wanting more. For my latest build this spring, I went with NVIDIA GPU, primarily because 3 custom gaming PC firms advised me to go high-end NVIDIA. BTW, I went with an AMD CPU, which was also highly recommended. I'm not regretting either decision so far.

There's a PDF included in the zip file with the instructions...tells you there.

With the latest update about the Super 57PPD's unknown production date, I switched to the 50PPD Ultrawide Super. We'll see if I retain my original position in the ordering process, if it's "first come, first served". I'd hate to go to the back of the line...

@Calvin.Pimax...any chance you can send a replacement headset to @Nedum and once he confirms the new one works, he sends you back the defective headset? Clearly, Nedum's had enough bad experiences, which you could offset with some outstanding goodwill support.

Crystal Super Production Update: 57 PPD, 50 PPD & micro-OLED
Dawgboy replied to Calvin.Pimax's topic in Pimax
@Calvin.Pimax This doesn't say much, if anything, about the precise date the 57PPD Super production starts. -
Thanks! Super rundown. A couple of questions, and appreciate your insight: - Did you have the 50PPD? Ultrawide or standard 50PPD? - What Steel Series headset did you use? I'm not liking what I'm reading about the Pimax Super sound/mic options.
-
Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere, but how many crewmembers can occupy each C-130 and which positions? TIA!
-
Would you send a pic so we can gain context, pls? I'm awaiting my Super 57PPD and would be interested in seeing your teething pains after hearing this. TIA!
-
I'm happy for you, and also me since you've confirmed I'll eventually be happy with the results. Enjoy the skies, brother!
-
Geez...crazy town!! I have no faith mine (Super 57PPD) will come this summer...I'm thinking fall.
-
I'm hoping, in the end, the pain will be worth it. I'm hopeful since I hear what everybody else is saying about the VR experience. I even miss my G2 at this point...flying on a flatscreen is just not the same. Keep the faith, my friend.

Do the prescription lenses work in conjunction with the stock lenses or do they replace something? Thanks. For the long wait for my order, I just received an email indicating I had an additional 3 months of warranty Pimax will tack onto my headset when I receive it. FYI.

Their automated workflow and related processes need a relook and rework by a professional. I wonder if they use Salesforce behind their ordering system...I can't imagine.

Nvidia Smooth Motion - 590.26 preview drivers
Dawgboy replied to Raven68's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What are your system specs, i.e, CPU, RAM, GPU w/VRAM, etc.? -
UPDATE: I didn't have this recorded, so no pix. However, I did have the small ^ label marker on. Would this be expected behavior...the labels visible to my eye position?
