  1. In the DLSS Config too all I can see is Global Force Preset is maxxed out at "G", not J, am I missing something?
  2. All set, Add-Ons tab has reappeared. I must have messed up the install somehow earlier and there was no "Add-Ons" tab...
  3. I found Mbuccia's to work better as you have more settings to play with, but whats strange is i'm seeing higher framerates (at 55PPD) in my DCS "Benchmark" using DCS QV and Eye Tracking with Varjo's not running.. with DCS QV and ET off (and no Varjo FR) I get 15FPS more, but not as clear..
  4. Is it still necessary to run Varjo Foveated in DCS anymore, or is there a built-in Quad-View and Eye tracking? In the past not running Varjo FR you suffered a frame rate loss and visual degradation. I have been doing some tests, and with my Mbuccia Varjo Foveated API disabled and Quad View and Eye tracking enabled I am getting the same FPS as with it enabled (and DCS Eye tracking disabled). Visually it looks about the same to me but maybe i'm missing something (like good eyesight)..
  5. Thanks for the response @lefuneste01, I have 6.1 installed now, i'll look again for the Haze reduction option in it.... or do I not need to install the ver. 5.0 VREM add-on (to get the haze option) also?
  6. I'm lost with actual ReShade options, was using VREM for the haze reduction, is that gone now?
  7. If monitoring in OpenXR apps, my vote goes to Fredermmotts's XRFrameTools app.. https://github.com/fredemmott/XRFrameTools/blob/main/README.md#why-should-i-use-this-instead-of-my-favorite-tool-for-non-vr-games
  8. Do I need to do anything special for the IL-2 version of VREM? ReSHade 6.3.3 shows up but I see nothing under Add-Ons?
  9. Wish I could, every time I use it (not often) I have to re-learn it, and the whole process using the Vive controller is clunky at best..
  10. Again, I would start with trimming Win11 and the Nvidia drivers, see what happens..
  11. Optimized Windows? Which version? Are you talking about 2D (assumed, as you say you get over 100FPS) or VR? In my experience (same general specs) the biggest culprit is usually Windows bloat or Nvidia bloat. In 2D I get 180FPS steadily (~5ms avg FT) and in VR 90FPS steadily with ~10ms FT. Suggest if you like things simple and are not into trying 250 different settings like some people here, run AtlasOS on your new Win11 install (Win11 being another assumption) system and do a DDU (uninstall of your Nvidia drivers), then an NVCleanstall (Clean install with nothing but video drivers.. no telemetry, no GeForce Exp.) and then see where you are. All I did in BIOS was turn on Turbo, manually set my multiplier to 55x (after testing it out using Ryzen Master) and set my DDR5 6000 to run at full rate (MCLK at 3000, FCLK at 2000, UCLK at 3000). Of course running other programs while flying, Anti-Virus, etc. can mess you up also. If you run in OpenXR run XRFrameTools to see\log what is actually happening.
  12. I believe for Varjo users using Mbuccia's Varjo Foveated it's C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Varjo-Foveated\varjo-foveated.log "2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_varjo_foveated layer (v0.2.0) is active 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Using layer: XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_varjo_foveated 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Using layer: XR_APILAYER_FREDEMMOTT_HandTrackedCockpitClicking 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requested extension: XR_KHR_D3D11_enable 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requested extension: XR_KHR_visibility_mask 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requested extension: XR_EXT_hand_tracking 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requested extension: XR_HTCX_vive_tracker_interaction 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requested extension: XR_VARJO_quad_views 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requested extension: XR_VARJO_foveated_rendering 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Requesting extension: XR_VARJO_foveated_rendering 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Application: DCS 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Using OpenXR runtime: Varjo OpenXR Runtime 4.5.1 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Using OpenXR system: XR-3 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: supportsFoveatedRendering = 1 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Trying to locate configuration file at 'C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Varjo-Foveated\settings.cfg'... 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Found option 'peripheral_multiplier=1' 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Found option 'focus_multiplier=1.2' 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Found option 'turbo_mode=1' 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Found option 'no_eye_tracking=0' 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Peripheral resolution: 2192x1880 (multiplier: 1.000) 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Focus resolution 1440x1440 (multiplier: 1.200/1.200) 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Peripheral resolution: 2192x1880 (multiplier: 1.000) 2024-12-23 12:47:07 +0100: Focus resolution 1440x1440 (multiplier: 1.200/1.200) 2024-12-23 12:47:13 +0100: Creating swapchain with resolution: 2192x1880 2024-12-23 12:47:13 +0100: Creating swapchain with resolution: 2192x1880 2024-12-23 12:47:13 +0100: Creating swapchain with resolution: 1440x1440 2024-12-23 12:47:13 +0100: Creating swapchain with resolution: 1440x1440 2024-12-23 12:47:16 +0100: Application is using Quad Views for this session."
  13. A search of dcs.log finds: "2024-12-20 11:47:37.724 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): [12:47:37.748][Info ] OpenXR: Name=XR_VARJO_quad_views SpecVersion=1" and "2024-12-20 11:47:37.726 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): [12:47:37.750][Info ] OpenXR: Name=XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_varjo_foveated SpecVersion=1.0.0 LayerVersion=1 Description=Enable foveation with Varjo quad views" and "2024-12-20 11:47:37.735 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): [12:47:37.759][Info ] OpenXR: Enabled extension: XR_VARJO_quad_views" and this one repeats ~20x throughout the log... "Name=XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_varjo_foveated SpecVersion=1.0.0 LayerVersion=1 Description=Enable foveation with Varjo quad views"
  14. For Varjo the best is Mbuccia's Varjo Foveated (has more configuration variables allowed), followed by Varjo's own Foveated... How is your clarity in DCS? Per Viitiss on the VR1 Discord - "There is some distortion on the middle of the lenses more dominant on the right one. Played around with the settings and warping profiles but nothing gets rid of it." Per Artur on the VR1 Discord - "in January there will be new OpenXR implementation SDK coming from Somnium as an update so it will improve things even further!"
  15. Nice, i'm considering the Visionary and adding a LeapMotion2 to it. Hopefully they will (or already have) sort out the "reverse foveated" issue some people are getting (blurry center vision, clear peripheral). Be great to hear your thoughts on it!
  16. Just for a point of data, on my 2560x1440 (144hz) in 2D, under High pre-set but with all scenery sliders full right, it stays at 180 FPS and FT was a low of 4.8, high of 6.6, pretty much 95% at 5.5ms on Plazmatest mission...
  17. All this was you in 2D? OMG.... How did I miss that?? 100% on me, "I have just completed a fresh windows and dcs install in preparation for new VR1 Headset arrival. During some 2D testing, simple one airplane sat on runway cold, I am seeing a repeated spike in Frametime and CPU Busy. This pattern is seen no matter what changes I make to DCS or PC"
  18. Happy to, but more important may be what I do outside of DCS. For instance, on this new Win11 install I decided to try the "Atlas OS" Win11 tuning app. Very simple and automated, removed a lot of Win11 bloat and unneeded "features". I actually did it a few days in (have to override an initial check) and it didn't mess with any programs or installations. Second is how I install NVidia drivers. I use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to wipe all traces of the current (initially installed by Win11) driver, then install new ones using NVCleanstall in the clean installation mode. Just video drivers, no GeForce Experience, no Telemetry, nothing. Below is a graph of FT during Plazma Torture with your VR settings and then what my normal VR settings are, though I did save yours as one of my Custom setups.. Shadows at max are a definite FR hound.
  19. Don't have a 25T "Cold start at Batumi parking'' mission I can find, just one for Syria. Also having trouble with too many FT data points in the PresentMon CSV, have to find a setting to reduce from the 1872 points it's producing for 30 seconds.. but even with that don't get spikes like yours (but again, not Apples for Apples until we are looking at the same thing). In the SU25T Plasma Torture mission, you engage autopilot the second you enter, don't touch anything, then start recording as you cross over to land... should you choose to run it.
  20. I will, thanks for the info. If possible please try something like the Su25T mission posted here, or using a base plane Cold & Dark most everyone has..( I don't own the F5, but have 90% of all else). Just want to keep it Apples to Apples, and also your graphics settings of course 9best to just use VR preset for testing comparisons).
  21. As i've seen so many people putting it on like they are building a brick wall its not hard to use too little or waaaay too much TP. I use Noctua NT-H2, apply it with a stiff plastic spreader to cover every part of the CPU in contact with the transfer plate with a THIN even layer (after cleaning the CPU and heatsink with an alcohol solution). Set the heatsink down, little wiggling to evenly distribute the application even more and push out any air bubbles, lock her down. Putting a glob in the middle (as Intel recommends!) may cover, may not, may be the exact amount to create the right thickness (Paper thin, only enough to fill in the imperfections in the two surfaces), or may not. Best way to KNOW, buy enough paste to do several applications, try one, remove cooler plate and look at it. Just my $0.02..
