  1. Have to say the idea came from a guy going by "Morphine us" on the Varjo Discord, my bad for not giving him the credit as I never would have thought to try Voice Attack without him...
  2. Corsair iCue Titan Liquid CPU cooler, logging while in DCS I have not seen past 75c, and that is with the CPU running all cores at 55x all the time.
  3. Thank you, i'm amazed that DCS has introduced a way to make the haze (fog) so thick you can't see 10' in front of you but no way to go the opposite way... boggles the mind.
  4. @lefuneste01 - any hope of fixing whatever DCS broke to get VREM working again?
  5. Interesting, I run with HAGs ON but depending on who you listen to, many say to turn it OFF.. One thing, I read - "HAGS can cause performance issues with OBS and hardware encoders, so it is recommended to disable it when running OBS"..,
  6. Can you use that to get rid of the DCS "Haze"? Was using VREM (ReShade Add-on) but the new patch broke that...
  7. Yeah, I believe they made that a few years back but it's meant to be tested on the Multiplayer setup, have to find the video on YT. The "Plazma_torture" is a lot more demanding, but i'm locked to 90FPS on all of them (Textures increased to High).. May put some shadows back in, re-test.
  8. Damn.... the one thing I use it for!!
  9. Thanks, I will give it a look. I know @Ready has to use certain tools so he can work with videos, etc but I prefer to not run OXRTK as it won't work with my (MBuccia) Varjo Foveated API (and it's dead-ware and will no longer be updated or supported). I did like it a lot when I had a G2 though! I'll try and run your test mission in VR and 2D, see what I get.. Edit: That video was for DCS 2.7 and the attachment for maps is no longer valid... but if someone did the same with 2.9x it would be great. I am not fluent with the Mission generator.
  10. Yes, the "other" sim has an actual mission that all you do is enter it on the runway, look around, and see the FPS and FT live. Heavy rain, heavy clouds, etc. In reality all someone would have to do is create something similar with the DCS mission editor I suppose.
  11. Amazed at all the settings to play with! I simply set Ryzen Master into manual, then incrementally tried raising the clock rate to 5500. Temps and stability stayed great, so went into BIOS and changed the clock rate to 55, set CPU voltage to 1.235, been purring away beautifully. Is there now a dedicated DCS Benchmark mission with X settings to get a reliable comparison from as in the "other" F16 sim?
  12. From your system specs I suspect you have been saying that for quite some time...
  13. Just built a 9800X3D with 64Gb G.Skill CL30, iCue Titan cooler.. replacing my i9-13900 w/ DDR4, re-used my RTX 4090. I wasn't expecting a great increase, was more to switch to AMD, DDR5, USB 4.0 to be better set for the 5090 when it comes. After a day or so set it to 55x multi, 1.235v core, and ran a few stress tests and she sits at 47C, maxs out ~80C during an all-cores stress. Just got DCS reinstalled, put my old graphic settings in, set up my Bf-109 for a 1v1 quick mission, and it just feels so much smoother that before. In VR, at 55PPI in my XR-3, getting a solid 90FPS (was thrilled with 60 before) and the FT is flashing between 10-11.. Quite pleased!
  14. Don't forget the haze removal!
  15. To my understanding you can not load anything from ReShade itself...
  16. Good, you do have ReShade 6.3.3 Addon installed from 10/31, yes? I see he fixed a glitch that was messing up the add-on programs with a couple hotfixes since 6.3.1..
  17. Received mine today, all functions A-OK, works great in VR. One mod I made was to the fit, Slug gives you 3 different size "rings" when you order, one larger and one smaller than the size you specify. While the sizing was good I wanted a snugger, no-slip fit, so I took the soft side of some stick on Velcro, cut to size and stuck it on. Now its a perfect fit and no movement! EDIT: I should add, best to do this if the middle "ring" Slug supplies (on it as-delivered I believe) is loose, that way you can go up or down with the other rings for a perfect fit. You don't want it putting too much pressure on the "ring"..
  18. Hiya Topboy, i've been messing with Hand Tracking and if I disable the LeapMotion support on the "Special" page and enable Hand Controllers on the "VR" page I get no hands.. What is "OpenXR version of hand tracking"? Either way I don't believe just using finger movements works well enough so I use a pointer and mouse click (HOTAS buttons)
  19. Thanks @slughead, yes, I believe that the Varjo Base's OpenXR implementation of LeapMotion driver's for the XR-3/VR-3's built in LeapMotion hand tracker (LM1.x I think, not 2) is causing the issue with HTCC and DCS. Problem is, the XR-3 Hand Tracking will not function with LeapMotion's Gemini drivers installed (either with VB hand tracking enabled or disabled). The Aero does not have hand tracking as part of Varjo Base so (my assumption) is a user with LM2 (or LM1) added/installed must install Gemini to use it. The test would be if such a setup has any issue with the HTCC API enabled. As I have an Aero, I may end up buying an LM2 just to test it out. I also think it's likely a better solution to the XR-3's built in (LM1) and I could disable Hand Tracking in Varjo Base and just use the external tracker with Gemini.... and hopefully HTCC and a Slugmouse.
  20. Curious if anyone has gone that route for Hand Tracking in DCS? If so, are you using a SlugMouse and the HTCC OpenXR API successfully?
  21. Yes, a bit strange to use the Vive hand controller to draw out the passthrough windows, but once you get used to how it works it's useable. All I have done so far is a rectangular area for my MFDs and ICP, a different one just for my keyboard, and a final one for both. The KB only one is perfect, can leave it on most the time (depending on the plane) as I need to look down to see it. What I have found to be indispensable is the use of Voiceattack to send a command directly to Varjo LabTools to switch between Use and Edit modes, effectively turning the mask on/off, then return focus to the sim, all occurring seamlessly while flying. In my case I don't want the mask on all the time, those with actual cockpits will. And I also agree that room brightness is critical for a clear view (also Opacity set to 10%), the cameras want light, otherwise the view becomes grainy. Not sure yet how well the "Mixed Reality video brightness" (0- +3) helps yet..
