  1. With the gret size of this thread (indication a great number of people with the issue) I find it very hard to belive that no one in the ED team is experiencing this, if anyone at all isn't, we have to consider that the great majority of the playerbase don't engage in the forum/bug reporting Hornet slides on the deck above 20kt, it's just that simple it's common knowledge to the point that no mission/server has a carrier over that speed, we have multiples tracks and missinos and videos showcasing it, there is no reason at all to even consider that this isn't a major problem, it would be nice to have it acknowledged and said to be worked on as a top priority
  2. Yes that's my own post i asked before reporting to see if anyone else observed this behavior
  3. There are tons of video tutorials on youtube you can watch, they are pretty good
  4. .
  5. I got a couple uncut examples to share, one night and one IMC
  6. Thats because the INS is dependant on the parking brake to aling, the chocks on the other hand has nothing to do with it
  7. Please note that ALL the cases i talked about in this thread is for EMPTY racks, the first case with jetisoning it decreasing your speed and the other way around in high altitude as well, all with empty racks By the way i freaking love yourp posts haha
  8. One more funny addition Today i was flying very high 40k feet+ with the empty racks on at close to supersonic speed, and at that altitude when i jetisoned them it seemed to behave normally (steep speed increase) this is funny and indicates that the drag value is behaving badly only in low altitude
  9. You're welcome keep up the good job
  10. No it wouldnt, i said it had negative drag not negative weight. Either way i used this term to clarify the way it acts, just like it has negative drag and getting rid of it adds to your total drag
  11. Hello, I have observed in a mission that the HSI page would only work in Day mode regardless of the knob position when either on the left or right DDI it won't dim, you can control it's brighness normally on the MPCD's knob when its there, this seems to happen only in the HSI page as far as I observed. I'm including the track of the mission I realized that, you can observe me switching it around by the end of the mission when setting up for the case III approach, mission is also included if relevant. Version is current Open Beta Regards, Crash_Site.miz
  12. There is another popular simulator featuring the F-16 that has ground radar avalible including GMT and EXP modes, it works pretty well especially if you have a rough knologe of the targets in the area as I remember from my time with it, you can search for photos/videos of its operation online, I would assume the hornets radar would perform pretty close to it

Actually the wings doesn't have to be folded, just unlocked (leaver pulled in any position)
  14. BRU-33 Rack Negative Drag value Hello, I have observed in a variety of missions now how on jettisoning the BRU-33 Racks the drag of the aircraft actually increases To showcase this i flew this simples missions as follows: Loadout is 8x Mk-83 and 2x Mk-82 Take-off, fly straight and level at mil. power and wait for speed to stabilize (579Kt). Drop the 2 Mk-82 (Speed increases until stabilized at 584Kt). Drop all 8 Mk-83 (Speed increases to 614kt) Then the weird part, after this later speed stabilizations i jettison the 5 empty BRU-33 Racks on the aircraft and speed starts to drop sharply, then stabilizes back on 585kt It acts like the racks have a negative drag value I've seen this same behaviour in a great variety of missions. Version is current open beta 2.5.2.20143 Trk attatched (it won't let me post the mission and dxdiag because they are already attatched in the deck sliding thread, I used the same missions) BRU-33 drag.trk
  15. It's funny the new missions thing not causing the sliding because the mission for the video I just made was just created yesterday from scrach to showcase it. About the vortex thing it doesn't causes problems at all just looks kind of bad, as a pilot IRL I'd say this it not a Hornet problem, the threshold for activation of the vortex should be lower on every aircraft to be simplistic To be realistic it should take into consideration the air humidity to define how easily it forms (maybe even at a 1G higher AoA as it's on the sim right now if humidity is high) Same goes for Icing alerts (on the hornet) and stuff like pitot freezing and IAS failure on the A-10 for instance, it doesn't matter how cold it is it shouldnt happend if there is no visible moisture in the air (cloud/fog), on real aircraft we ony turn anti-ice on if we have both low temps and moisture. On the other hand i have no idea how difficult this would be to model in-game.
  16. Hi, i have run into an odd observation While flying around straight and level, at the terminal speed for current power seeting and 2 empty BRU-33 racks on each wing. After uppon jettisoning the racks the speed actually starting to go down instead of going up due to reduced drag/weight, suggeting the rack actually have a negative drag value, did anyone else observe this? I will later post on bugs with track when able
  17. Great I'll wait on your analysis, let me know if you need anything else
  18. There you go, Im uploading for you de dxdiag, trk, and miz, miz is a simple only f-18 and carrier that i just made to showcase this, winds are calm it's worth poiting out that the carrier starts at 10kt, i start taxing no problems, then i wait for it to acelerate for roughly 27kt before start taxing again and the problems start. In case you can't reproduce the sliding on the track for whatever reason i'm also uploading it to youtube as I was doing the mission itself (not track) as a not listed video, on recording the video i tryed to keep the nose wheel in sight so you can see when its moving and when it's not while observing the slide Version is current Open beta 2.5.2.20143 Mission in single player, same effect on multiplayer on any type of mission and map Good luck, DxDiag.txt Drift test.miz deck slide.trk
  19. Step selects which program will be run on AFT as shown on top of the EW page (man 1 man 2 etc), FWD will ALWAYS run program 5
  20. It happens o me too same as before, maybe just maybe slightly less agressively. Im on trip now but i’ll make a video when im back this week to post with track and specs (open beta)
  21. just watch the needle as it crosses your 3-9 line thats your abeam distance, alternativelly, just look left
  22. Thats not short at all for a no escape cue
  23. Earlier today on my first testings I've had an aim-120 hit a mig-23 on a 18nm head on shot, roughly 25k feet head on, the mig did manouver but quite late on a descent turn (it was guiding a semi-active at me before, hence the manouver delay, he had balls) the missile reached him at pretty low energy but was still doing about 600 knots and was able to hit and kill the mig, thats the longest shot i had so far (the rmax cue was at roughly 20nm) I'll try to find the track and post it
  24. I still have it as well on high speed carrier, specially if plane has the wind on the side, looks like the wind is pushing the tail back (as it should). Looks like all you need is to incresce the deck friction and should be golden
