  1. Except that it was restocked today. And right now it is still in stock. Read the thread.
  2. Yeah the MongoosT-50 base is also in stock, although this was not included in the October 15th announcement ("Further news on the VPC MongoosT-50 Base will be coming in the near future."). But at the beginning of October, when they had what was supposed to be the last batch, the MongoosT-50 base had a 10% discount. Now it has no discount. And this is the actual last batch.
  3. No more 10% discount on the MongoosT-50 base. But I ordered one anyway (and Cosmosim cams for it), since it's the last chance.
  4. So what happened with that board you got?
  5. The MongoosT-50 base is discontinued, not the MongoosT-50 throttle. No equivalent replacement in the near future. Only the WarBRD base will be available for a while.
  6. Thanks. I had no idea I should look there for this option (I was looking for it in "Customize" - "Mission Options"). It works. The gunsight is disabled.
  7. I tried that, too, but I can't find such a setting when opening the mission in Mission Editor. Then I extracted and edited the "options" file from one mission - L39-IA-FREE FLIGHT.miz - and set <<["dismountGunSight"] = true,>> (I saw that as a solution - I think it was your post), but I still have the gunsight when flying that mission.
  8. I can't remove the gunsight in Open Beta 2.5.3.22652. I wonder if this is caused by the bug with the new profiles or if it is unreleated.
  9. For a 2560x1440 monitor (16:9 aspect ratio) I would go for 27". Perfect pixel density for desktop usage. If it's an 21:9 3440x1440, then a 34" (diagonal) has about the same pixel density. I would avoid curved displays. It's more of a gimmick.
  10. EU customers pay 21% VAT (the Lithuanian 21% VAT rate is applied). So the total price (including shipping and VAT) is actually higher for EU customers than for US customers. For instance, if I would order a MongoosT-50 grip (129.95 EUR without VAT), then VAT and shipping add up to another 55.06 EUR (about 63 USD). That is a 42.37% increase of the purchase price of the grip. Well above your 33%.
  11. Issues I heard of (excluding those solved by making some adjustments or software issues - so issues which required some part replacements), in the order of decreasing frequency: - stuck cam screws (by far the most common issue) due to the threadlock used (type and/or quantity); - worn insulation on cables (due to friction between the cable and the metal part of the gimbal); - and - apparently very rare - some electronics board replacements.
  12. Thanks for answering my previous post. How about spare parts availability for MongoosT-50 base? How long the spare parts for it will be available? Yes, but usually they drop Mk. I only when they make Mk.II. Discontinuing MongoosT-50 with no equivalent replacement (a base designed to take extensions) leaves a big gap.
  13. So what does this mean? A) Another VPC base will be released in the near future? Meaning production of this new base is about to start. or B) VPC will only make the WarBRD base from now on, at least for some considerable period of time (1+ year)?
  14. No point in modifying a 6-pin connector when you can get a 5-pin. The modified 6-pin from the picture does not even have the flange. Round (no flange) 5-pin mini-DIN connectors can be found with relative ease. This 5-pin connector is female. He needs the male connector. Also the flange is too big.
  15. No, it's not. PS/2 is 6-pin mini-DIN connector. The one in the Warthog is a 5-pin mini-DIN connector. Besides the different pin count, the size and position of the key is different.
  16. If the axis is not stable, then the image will annoyingly zoom in/zoom out. You will care. Check the axis with VKB_JoyTester. When levers, wheels (anything which is an axis) are stationary, you should see only straight lines, with no or very little noise. Check in various positions of the controls.
  17. It might be possible to mount (on Virpil mount) the MongoosT-50 throttle without the base plate. You have to flip (upside-down) the lower part of the mount. That side has two elongated channels, which might match up with the 4 threaded holes from the base of the throttle. They are flipping that part when using the dedicated base plate, too.
  18. And my point (based on your comment on Sajarov's picture, comment which I quoted above) is that, while you might think you are fully inserting the connector, in reality you might not fully insert it. If that is the case, then it does not stay in place because it is not fully inserted.
  19. Maybe you are not fully inserting the connector.
  20. You said you have a Warthog grip and a MongoosT-50 grip. Do you also have a Warthog base? If yes, try the MongoosT-50 on that base and compare how the connector fits there. Also take a close look at the connector from the WarBRD base (and also at the connectors from your grips).
  21. Yeah, but he said "rotate the grip clockwise and counter clockwise". Twisting is rotating the grip. Clockwise or anticlockwise. And when twisting the grip is when you don't expect X/Y values to change. When moving the stick in circles (like you say) you do have X/Y values changing. But you don't get "straight movement on the either axis" (his stated goal) when you move the stick in circles. You get that only when you move it only left/right (roll axis - X) or only forward/back (pitch axis - Y). So I still think he is talking about twisting the grip while "moving [...] up or down or left and right". If not, he should better describe the issue.
  22. On sticks with twist, the twist axis is usually Rotation Z, not Z. But the name of the axes does not usually matter (except for games which don't let you to re-assign the controls). Yes, it's supposed to do that. With MongoosT-50 grip, you slightly extract the cable from the grip and first connect the cable from the grip to the base. Only after the cable connector is completely seated in the base connector you screw the grip. Because the cable/connector is not fixed in the MongoosT-50 grip, you can adjust the grip rotation (position) while tightening it down. For instance, if the joystick is center mounted, you might want to have the grip rotated a few degrees anti clockwise. Because the Warthog grip has the connector fixed, when using it with the WarBRD base you are supposed to remove the two small screws that hold the base connector in place. Why do you try to twist a grip without twist axis? Anyway, check if you are not actually moving the grip on X/Y while twisting it. If you are sure you are only twisting it and not also move it around, the X/Y values should not change.
  23. Oh, so you used a too small screwdriver. Always use the proper tool. Everybody should have basic tools like flat screwdrivers of different sizes. Wiha makes very good screwdrivers (SoftFinish and MicroFinish series).
  24. @ram506 Are they using thread lock on those screws on the cams? If yes, heat them with a heat gun and should be much easier to unscrew. Unlike the cam screws from MongoosT-50, with these screws you have access to use combination pliers to grip the screw head (but be very careful how much torque you apply; if the screws are really locked in place you could even snap the screw or damage the cam). Use a vise to grip the cam and pliers to unscrew the bolt. The screw head will have some marks if you do this, but those are only cosmetic.
  25. @gsce When using the Warthog grip (which - unlike the Virpil grips - has a fixed 5-pin Mini-DIN connector) on a WarBRD base you are supposed to remove the two small screws that hold in place the 5-pin Mini-DIN base connector. It's hard to say from your video (the one in which you swap the grip between Warthog base and WarBRD base), but it seems that the screws are still in place in your case.
