Didn't you had lower framerate with MiG-21bis even when using a monitor (before you got the VR setup)?
-
Ah, that's a nice touch.

The Mirage in-game tutorials are spoken in French? Is English also an option?

If possible, de-activate the module in case you re-install Windows or in situations like that. But if you run out of activations, you will get a new one after 30 days (but only one; new activations do not stack). Edit: This is not specific to the Steam version, but to any StarForce module (Steam or stand-alone).

At least on mine, the default (factory) setup was with medium springs (not soft springs) and soft center cams. You should try yourself different cams and springs. But if you never changed cams, be careful. You need to heat the cam screws (I used a heat gun), use a good Phillips screwdriver of correct size and if it feels it is too hard to start unscrewing, stop and apply more heat, not more torque.

Newer modules are keyless and without numbered activations in stand-alone, too.

OK. I just tried this. It works, even with an automatic start, but you have to do some things after that. I tried with Instant Action - Cold Start mission. I made an automatic start (Left Win + Home). After the starting procedure was over, I turned on the circuit breaker for the gunsight (on the right panel, second black one from the lower row), turned on the two switches from the gunsight (those highlighted by corn322 in his screenshot) and I put the ASP into "Gun" mode (top switch on the left side of the gunsight on Gun/Up position). After that you can put that switch into missile position (down), the net and piper will remain on.

He said those do nothing (in his case).

Have you assigned the brightness for those two on some axes (which are at minimum)?
-
That's not exactly proof, either.

Can someone explain why there are differences in these 2 images?

He said it's the same mission. It might have something to do with tree drawing distance, but it can't be only that. Trees even farther away are still drawn in the same screenshot. -

Looks to be some kind of LOD (Level Of Detail) bug. You only saw that with the Viggen? -
DCS World - Heatblur F-14 Tomcat - Early Access First Look
Seb71 replied to Jabbers_'s topic in DCS: F-14A & B
You can use car pedals as rudder pedals. Won't be that great, but it might be better than using twist grip (for sure is more "realistic" than grip twist for yaw). Depending on pedal model, you might need to use external software to combine two pedals into a single axis, which will be usable as yaw. -
You are the one which brought the "but the real F-14 does not have it" argument into discussion. I just pointed to another aspect of it. No need for such drama, bringing injured people into it now. What about people which lost their right arm? Don't they deserve a left handed F-14 grip? See, it can only get worse when you take the discussion there. So better leave all this out of discussion about joysticks. I understand that VKB can not make such a guarantee of wider compatibility. It was just my point of view on this subject. I don't know of any technical reason for a Warthog-compatible grip to not be also Virpil-compatible. So I just mentioned this.
-
The VKB F-14 Warthog-compatible grip would be a distinct/separate version (if they will make it). Special for the Warthog base. It will not work on a VKB Gunfighter base. The VKB F-14 grip version for VKB bases would not have those limitations.
-
Ask them if F14's grip had twist, while you are at it, then. A grip needs to be ergonomic and to have the desired functions (triggers, buttons, hat switches, etc.). The name or the original inspiration are of a lesser concern (except for a few, which aim for replicating in their simpit a certain aircraft cockpit). That should be enough to cover the third party bases. Any grip which works on Warthog base should also work on the other ones.
-
No twist on a right handed grip. If there will be a left handed version, then yes, that LH version should have twist. A LH grip for space sims. Maybe. But not so much to be used on a Warthog base (that is not a very good base). Main reason would be to use it on a Virpil base. And not sure if VKB would like that. On one hand, it's a grip sold to a customer. On the other hand, it's not also a base sold. But same applies in case of a Warthog base.

Also take a look at Chuck's Guides.

Same volume for the Jester menu and for when Jester actualy speaks? If it is a single volume control for both, it does not help at all with this issue.
-
No idea what trunk stands for in this context. But in the store, MiG-21bis is listed as Early Access.
-
You have manuals in the game folder, in \Mods\aircraft\[aircraft name]\Doc.
-
What can I say? It was annoying enough to distract my attention from the video. In my view, this is bad enough to be mentioned.
-
That static noise you hear when Jester menu is open should be removed. It should only be present when Jester speaks, not any time you open that menu.

From the description in the latest newsletter, I get the impression that it won't be a module for DCS (like I expected), but a separate game, with its own launcher. At least it sounds like this.
