  1. +1. The flood lights don't work, either.
  2. Well, I answered my own question. When you use the base AGM-65E (lrg warhead) version, it puts you in an endless feedback loop of nonsense. The v2 version of the LMAV seems to work as one would expect. Is this intended behavior or a bug?
  3. Awesome, I appreciate the help. Thanks for the response.
  4. Looking for any help. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to launch an LMAV. My steps: - Select LMAV from the stores page or EHSD; make sure laser code matches the pod - Select targeting POD; ensure TPOD is sensor of interest; slew pod to target; unsafe pod, select lasr, and fire When I pull up the LMAV, the TPOD display disappears; when I re-select the TPOD, the LMAV display disappears; when I go to the LMAV page again, it is in standby, and when it is ready, reselecting the TPOD the pod is back in "safe" mode, and it is a vicious cycle. Any thoughts?
  5. Ok, so an unrelated question along the lines of loadouts... A number of publicly available pics of USMC Harriers in Iraq show a side-by-side configuration for JDAMs, while in the DCS representation two JDAMs are hung in a configuration where one hangs from the bottom of the triple-ejector and one from the side (a "slanted" configuration). Why is this? Doesn't seem accurate. null
  6. I haven't messed with the Harrier in a bit. What changed from a loadout perspective?
  7. I'd recommend finding a good guide/checklist to put on your kneeboard. I'd recommend this one, which details procedures for all major phases of flight, as well as all of the HOTAS functions. It is a handy reference, especially if you bounce types from aircraft to aircraft. After a while most of the HOTAS functions become muscle memory, but it doesn't hurt to be able to pull up a simple guide if your memory fails you. 8. Note: I fly entirely VR. I don't understand the appeal of hiding half of the real estate in the cockpit behind a semi-humanoid looking monstrosity. Razbam seems to be doing an admirable job of making a human-looking pilot body, much better than what you see from most developers / sims, but it still is a big immersion breaker for me to look down and see someone else's legs, torso, arms, hands, etc blocking half of the cockpit. I find it even more distracting should I happen to move my legs, hands, etc, and the pilot body remains lifeless. Just one guy's thoughts.
  9. Not sure I agree on this one. In my case, the experience is subjectively worse with motion reprojection than it is without. When I enable MR, the "jelly" or "wiggly" effect seen around the edges of the cockpit, HUD, or rotors in the case of helicopters are all very immersion breaking. The "ghosting" effect seen on wingtips when banking is another effect that is a real problem for me. Without MR, the slight "stutter" that you occasionally see is much less distracting or immersion breaking than the effects seen with motion reprojection. Another case of "to each their own" I suppose.
  10. Ok, my initial report: System: Ryzen 9 5950X, 64MB DDR4, RTX 3080, SSD, HP Reverb G2 Mission: DCS Liberation, Persian Gulf Pre- Multi-Threading Settings & Performance: Med Textures, Med Visibility, MSAA 2X, shadows low, clouds low, no front line smoke in Liberation, no artillery strikes, no moving ground vehicles, culling enabled, performance averaged about 40 - 45 fps Settings w/ Multi-Threading: High Textures, High Visibility, MSAA 2X, Shadows High, Clouds High, front line smoke enabled, artillery strikes enabled, moving ground vehicles enabled, culling enabled, performance averaging 65-75 fps Overall, in complex missions, it makes a big difference. In a standard, simple mission, I see very little difference but can dial up the graphics settings. Overall very pleased. A great start!
  11. My guess at this point would be: - They planned to include multithreading in the Mar 1st update - When they realized it wasn't ready, they said they needed "a bit more time", which in ED-speak equals a few months - They'll now proceed sometime (I'd guess next week) with releasing the campaigns and new radio for the A-10 as a standalone patch, and kick multithreading out into late Q2 Just my pessimistic prediction (but based on over a decade of being an ED customer).
  12. In the delay announcement, they said they required "a little more time"... which if not Wednesday, apparently means weeks?
  13. Because it is generally considered poor-form to ignore “the elephant in the room” while trying to promote your new stuff, but you’re certainly entitled to your opinion that they don’t need to mention it. Again, just my thoughts.
  14. Wouldn’t one expect that they’d at least mention something to the effect of “we’re still working on the delayed March 1st patch and hope to have news to share in the near future”? Seems tone-deaf to not even mention. Just an opinion.
  15. If the next patch is just what was announced on Friday (the radio for the A-10 II and three new campaigns) and nothing more (like multithreading or DLSS), then that seems like an exceptionally long time between patches for those features (announced a full month before), and like they're having an awfully hard time testing those features. Just saying.
  16. I checked their NA store. Looks like anything with a Gunfighter base is on perpetual backorder.
  17. Looking for opinions here: - I currently have the Thrustmaster Warthog stick and throttle. I upgraded the spring in the stick to lower the resistance/tension. I like the setup, but the Warthog stick has a really strong "centering" action, and I'd like something that is smoother in the transition from the center outward and back. It also seems to have a very faint amount of "stiction" in certain spots. - The VKB Gunfighter options seem to get good reviews, but literally everything on their website is "sold out." What's the deal? - Any other options I should be considering?
  18. Well, the 1st of March beta update is not a 1st of March beta update. Didn't predict that one! Maybe hope for Friday?
  19. Multithreading or bust. The performance has been pretty bad for quite a while and it's getting a bit old.

    F-15E vs. F-18C

Ahem… the F/A-18 has approximately two more real-world air to air kills than the F-15E. Kills on helicopters with bombs don’t count. ;)
  22. Don't know if it is my settings or an actual bug, but the meatball on the Forrestal is completely unreadable. It looks like a bright green hazy blob. I'm using a Reverb G2, so maybe it is my settings? Also, when I hit the deck, the Forrestal takes 1% damage (my landings aren't perfect, but they're usually a solid 'OK' 2 or 3 wire).
  23. Ultimately, you don't "release" a pre-order. There is a date where the pre-order period begins. "Release" means the product is available.
  24. This could be read as when the release of the module will be for those who pre-order.
