NOW AVAILABLE: Community A-4E-C Mod
swartbyron replied to Merker's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I'm really enjoying the A-4, I cant stop flying it. :) I assume the external lights haven't been implemented yet as I cant get them to work? Is there a way to stop the constant looping canopy or flaps sound or at least an edit I can make to remove it all together? -
Anyone notice anything new in the cockpit since Wednesdays update? I cant seem to find anything.... These are not cockpit animations but I have noticed the flaps automaticity retract fully to 0% on their own now. They stopped at 10% before and you had hit the flaps up key to get them fully retracted. Also you get some shaking and buffeting when flaps are extended more than 10% above 500 kph that's a nice addition. :)

I've just set up the A and copied it over too the S and G. Then just set up ECM on my controller for the S when I flew her.

Wow this is lovely and very manoeuvrable little plane! I love it , thank you to all involved in making it. -
Yes I know it works in model viewer along with many other switches, lights and gauges. But we are only listing new animations that actually work in game here! Thanks never the less.

MiG-29A Short field landing practice.
swartbyron replied to swartbyron's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Thanks :) What the video doesn't show you is the pile of wrecked MiG-29's at Eco Bay. That's one tough airstrip to learn to land at! I reckon that if you can land there you can land at any field in DCS. -
I've been practicing my landings at the shortest runways I could find. The plan was that if I could land safely and stop, then landing on the longer runways should be easer to do after that. Approach was as slow as I dared, aiming for the threshold to give my self as much room as possible for breaking and stop before I ran short of runway. All up weight for all 3 landings was around 12 000 kg in no wind. (No gun ammo, chaff, flares around 30% fuel and 0% curve on the pitch axis) Anyway I thought I would share it with you all. :)

Fulcrum is a handfull in landing pattern.
swartbyron replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
I also don’t use any curve on the pitch axis for the MiG-29 and it made the world of difference for me. Defiantly worth a try for anyone having trouble with pitch control during take off and landing. -
Thank you

I'm not sure, hopfully there is a MiG-29 expert here who can tell us. Any one out there who knows? Is this animated in game? How do you see it work? This list is for new animations that are currently working in the sim.
-
Ok I've not seen this animated in game though? What key command is this bound too?
-
Thanks this works and has been added to the list. Do you mean the Navigation Control Panel? This is animated in the 3d model viewer but has not been implemented in game yet.
-
Thanks guys I've added them to the list and a few more I've found. This is labelled “TRANSFM Fail” is this the same light you are referring too?
-

Im not to fond of the new cockpit lighting
swartbyron replied to swartbyron's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
The screenshot on the right is from the 2.5 stable. The left is the updated lighting from the latest 2.5 open beta. -
I love the Su-25T too. :) Seeing as it is the first aircraft most people get to fly coming free with DCS World I would have thought it would have been the first to be updated and made bug free to make a great first impression.

I really do hope so, it looks awefull at the moment and even worse at night! The lighting knobs rotate in both 9-12 and 9-13 for me. The navigation light switch is also animated now! :) It would be great if we could have it go to, on/10%/flash and off in the future. -

swartbyron replied to swartbyron's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
The trouble is that I use cockpit lighting often during the day especially when flying towards the sun when its low and just because it looked beautiful when they were on. I realise that this is what happens when you turn all the lighting knobs up to full but I doubt most pilots would choose this all the time. The previous instrument lighting still works but you just cant see it because the panel lighting is too bright. :( It would be nice ED could just turn the panel lighting down a bit or better still have the panel lighting come on with a second press of L and then all off with a third press. Its not unrealistic to have left the cockpit lighting just as it was! -
I love the new animation of the cockpit lighting controls! I really don't like the new cockpit lighting though! Surely the real thing has an option to have illuminated gauges only, like we had before with out illuminating the whole instrument panel and cockpit floor? I know that ED are trying to model things as it is in real life but it just seems over kill on brightness for me.
-
She turns nicely with the flaps up, thank you for the advice.

Hi there, is anyone else finding the travel of the nose wheel inadequate? Have a go at taxiing out of hanger 45 at Vaziani and you will know what I mean. All other FC3 aircraft can make both the right and the left turn to the runway except the MiG-29. Surely this is not true to real aircraft? MiG-29A Vaziani Hanger 45.miz

Remove trucks with the huge light at the end of the Caucasus runways
swartbyron replied to ac5's topic in DCS: Caucasus
I also dislike the bright searchlights at the end of the runway. This is how I turned mine off. I replaced the gaz-66_searchlight model with the standard gaz-66. It goes in the root folder so you with have to reinstall each time you update. Hope it helps :) Bazar.zip -
+1 Crashes to desktop every time I open a Nevada mission or load the Nevada map in the mission editor. I'm running a clean install with no mods.
