  1. This is almost certainly your head tracking causing the problem. When you look right, your viewpoint moves forward, and if you look left, your viewpoint will also move aft a little. Try disabling the Z-axis in your tracking software to test. If that solves your problem, you can leave it off or try moving your tracking monitor or have your IR/reflector clip placed top center of your head and not out to one side.
  2. I was wondering if there were any procedures for using the NAV lights for start-up, taxi, and in flight? I realize this will differ between operators, so I was thinking along the lines of how they were intended to be used, so how the Russian's/Soviet's/WP would use them. Flash on the ground and steady in flight, for example? The same for the landing light? Would this be turned on for approach during the day like western aircraft do?
  3. Again, it’s just an option being asked for here. An option won’t hurt or affect anybody’s realism or take away anything from the SPO-15 modelling we have now. It could be off by default and could be enforced off by the mission creator, so it won’t put anyone at a disadvantage. 4ya servers have their labels, others have them enforced off. Some have external views; others make sure it a as real as it gets experience and enforce them off. It could be the same for a legacy SPO-15 option and would keep everyone happy.
  4. Spawn in to any popular server and all the Flaming cliffs players have basic bearing, search, lock and launch warning information. Spawn in to any popular server and every AI MiG-29 both FC and FF have basic bearing, search, lock and launch warning information and behave and react accordantly. Its only those players in the new MiG-29 with the click able cockpit that happens to have the dodgy SPO-15 that are the only ones without this vital information and left handicapped. Realistic, maybe but not what Eagle Dynamics games have been about for the concomitantly for over 20 years. All those those training missions, watching all those videos and reading all those articles and then practising how to fly advanced BVR, SEAD and missile evasion in the MiG-29 are useless now as they all relied heavily on information supplied by the RWR. Skills I learnt flying the MiG-29 in Flanker 2.5 that I then applied in Lock On and then applied for years in DCS I can no longer use in the latest full fidelity MiG-29. No missions or servers are set up with the the FF MiG in mind and neither are the missions that ship with this module to be honest. While a small percentage of the community were hoping for rivet 456A that came lose after pulling 4G to be modelled in exacting detail. *The rest of us were just waiting for click able version of the aircraft we have spent so may hours learning to fly and perfect and to continue flying it in the manor that we always have and using the skills we have built in ED games over the years. I love our new FF MiG-29, its a dream come true to an old flight simmer like me and it is an absolute pleasure to fly. When it comes to fighting with it and playing the game DCS as I've played it for years, I feel lost, confused and helpless with this new SPO-15
  5. I’ve tried to fly the MiG-29 on a few popular servers this morning and had a constant lock tone from start up to shut down! Can’t it tell if I’m being locked up by an enemy SAM or aircraft since I’ve had a constant lock tone and all bands flashing since I flipped the power switch on the SPO-15 while still in the blocks back at base. Even friendly Tu-95 vaguely pointed in my direction gives me a constant lock with its AG radar from nearly 200 nm away along with the friendly A-50. BVR is impossible against anything that can shoot Fox 1 or 3 because I can’t notch or evade as I cant tell the difference between search, lock, launch or the overwhelming signal emitting from something friendly miles away. SEAD is impossible against anything except short-range IR. Any kind of situational awareness is just impossible. Is that my wingman locking me or an F-14 100 miles away? Maby he hasn’t locked me and is just searching but my SPO-15 being as cleaver as it is thinks he has locked me? Do I evade his search anyway? Is that still the friendly SAM at home base locking me, or perhaps it’s the Tu-95 or AWACS on the other side of the map? Just a local radio station perhaps? Maybe a traffic officer with a radar gun in the village on the horizon for all I know as they are bound to set this thing this off. Do I evade or ignore it? Boom! I guess I should have evaded this time. I find it really hard to swallow that a 1980’s MiG-29 had such a useless RWR installed and just want my old faithful SPO-15 that gives me bearing, search, lock and launch indications restored so I can play DCS in my new clickable MiG-29.
  6. Looking at the pilot model knee board in model viewer, it looks like ED have some really cool stuff planed. Including what looks like a rotating flight computer.
  7. I fold my mirrors away as a rule when on the ground and during takeoff or landing to avoid any fps hit theu may cause. They look to good at 1024 every frame it feels a crime to lower the resolution.
  8. Yes please! Most of these are relics from LockOn and Black Shark and desperately need updating.
  9. Thats what I do and then just flip the AFCS back to off again until after engine start.
  10. I've managed to add a lot of extra commands relative to the MiG-29 and removed all those that don't apply. I can't seem to add wingman 4 with out it crashing though. (Solved) Here's mine MiG-29A FF Radio Menu.zip
  11. Ill have to give that a try. The comms menu is a bit a of a mess at the moment with whole lot of stuff that shouldn’t be in there and quite a lot missing. Hopefully ED will sort it in a an update soon.
  12. Pressing and holding Limiter Override (Y) stops the stick pushing back. Limiter Override is provided to simulate you resisting the push back on the stick and being able to go past the AOA limit.
  13. Nobody is asking for the game to be made casual, you are free to play it as realistically as you please. All that is being asked here is that an option could be made available for those that want it. Nobody would become disadvantaged or have their realism spoiled if this option became available. All the hard core 'real' pilots, will still have their beautifully modelled as real as it gets SPO-15. While the rest of us can enjoy our snap views, labels, easy radios, easy INS, auto rudder and if we are lucky an easy SPO-15 when mission designers allow.
  14. I've been searching for user placeable runway lights for a while and come across this thread. My plan was to place my own lights on top of existing runway lights for use in day time during bad weather. Most maps have the runway lighting off during the day even after calling the tower and ED has yet to provide us with a way of turning them on. I hope somebody can make bright omnidirectional placeable RWY lights that can be used during the day. Even just a placeable bright 360 glowing orb without the 3D model would do nicely as it can be placed on top of existing lights would be great to have. In the mean time, FG_Projecteur by FullGas seems to be the only option and works fairly well. Kobaleti lite in the day time with FG_Projecteur by FullGas FG_Projecteur places nicely on top of most existing RWY lights too.
  15. I had Mode 1 light up today during a BVR intercept, anyone know what it means? I'm presuming something to do with IFF?
  16. True to life realism is wonderful but our MiG-29 is handicapped when it comes to flying on our favourite servers and in the way the community likes to play DCS. Hunting alone or capturing bases, reaming and repeating is not in anyway realistic, but it is the way the community plays DCS and is part of our culture. GCI when it comes will make PVP servers more playable I suppose but the super realistic state of RWR makes the usual way we like to fly on PVE servers is a frustrating and sometimes an impossible task. Others just want to be able to enjoy their single-player missions without their wingman giving them a constant lock tone the whole flight. We have an option for unrealistic labels, and they are set to on in most missions, campaigns, and servers, for heaven’s sake. If we want more realism, they can be turned off by the player or forced off by the mission designer. So having the option of having our SPO-15 work a little more like we are used to is not that far-fetched nor be an unfair advantage and would just make flying the MiG the way we like to fly it more enjoyable for the vast majority of players. I really do hope ED considers this.
  17. This update keeps getting better and better! Fantastic job Urga!
  18. Could we please have option of asking AI wingman/flight to turn off their radars as we have had previously and with other modules. Flying missions as lead with AI wingman, you are unable to go silent as the wingman are constantly broadcasting making other players aware of your presence and giving them a bearing to to your flights location. With the new modelling of the SPO-15 you have to live with a constant lock warning unless the AI is flying line abreast. Thanks
  19. The option of having lauch warning and a working front sector when the radar is transmitting will satisfy most people.
  20. We have already the option of choosing a fully realistic INS or a non realistic one that requires no fix taking. No fix taking being the non realistic option and brings the INS in line with how it worked in the FC MiG-29A. Could ED consider something similar the SPO-15LM? Example: Default - [Fully realistic] [User option] - Legacy FC3] As with the INS option, this would be naturally be enforced by the mission creator.
  21. +1 for a better monical for 2d users.
  22. Ah thank you so much! I've just tested this and I think I understand how its meant to work now. In return mode, the blunt end of the yellow needle is pointing you at the RSBN at the airfield while the larger white needle and the circle in the HUD tries to to get you in position and on the course to intercept the localizer and glide path. Once the NAV computer finds the localizer, it switches to landing mode and the yellow needle begins to search for the outer marker beacon also with the blunt end according to what channel you have your ADF radio set too. Once passing the outer marker beacon it will automatic switch to the inner unless you have selected it first and do a 180 once you have passed the beacon. You need to be landing using the runway the tower assigns you to use, or the beacons at the opposite end of the runway will be turned on and the needle will be homed in on one of them. This is also important to remember when setting up the landing direction when using the placeable RSBN/ PRMG cars and selecting the runway in the DTC! So you are meant to have both the inner and outer marker beacons set up in one of the channels on the ADF radio for the airfield you want to land at but landing using RSBN/PRMG, its not necessary. The system is set up to switch to ADF anyway for airfields without landing aids and only marker beacons and can be back up for PRMG failure I suppose. If you happen to have the ADF radio set up for another NDB or maker beacon at a nearby field in range, it will point to that. So if it cant find the signal of the channel and corresponding frequency you have the ADF set to, the needle will just spin endlessly searching.
