AN-AAQ-33 - Maverick not staying boresited with TGP
swartbyron replied to swartbyron's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for replying TMS down dose indeed work to bring the Maverick back on track. This step wasn't needed with the previous TGP and now seems to be an extra step that needs to be taken before shooting a maverick unless flying straight and level. Comparing the behaviour of the Maverick when the weapon page is SOI in both tracks shows the difference between both TGP's clearly. I guess what I'm really asking is if this is set up this way as intended or a bug with the new TGP? -
Unlike the old AN-AAQ-28, with the new AN-AAQ-33 the maverick is not staying boresited with the TGP when making the Weapon page SOI. In other words it seems there is no ground stabilisation unless the TGP page is SOI? Seems to make PRE mode kind of pointless? If you watch the AN-AAQ-33 track file you can see the maverick wander off every time I make the weapon page SOI then snap back when making the TGP SOI and in the AN-AAQ-28 track file, it holds where the TGP is looking no matter what. I would imagine placing an invisible FARP would do the trick?

Campaign for DCS OH-58D: "Through the desert dust"
swartbyron replied to YoYo's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I've experienced the same problem. The AI wingman doesn't like it if you hover taxi forward and decides to land and shutdown. If it happens just restart the mission and try again. I got him to follow me by taking off vertically and doing a 180 and flying directly out from the parking spot and then picking up the route.- 97 replies

Campaign for DCS OH-58D: "Through the desert dust"

You can indeed play this campaign in multiplayer, but at the risk of something breaking or not being synchronized. You don’t need to edit anything; just launch the mission you want to fly in multiplayer, and it will automatically set the player and copilot slot to client. It’s very important that both the pilot and copilot slots are occupied and that you are both spawned in the cockpit with textures loaded before the host unpauses the mission!- 97 replies

Campaign for DCS OH-58D: "Through the desert dust"
swartbyron replied to YoYo's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
This would help a lot and at least you can fly and land only to find you have 80% score for missing 3 trucks but passed because you accomplished the main objective. Currently if you turn immediately with the Blackhawk in mission 2, you miss the turnpoint trigger by a few feet breaking the rest of mission there after. As Zarma says, in Mission 3, if there is just one unit remaining of the group, the mission wont progress until its destroyed even though the convoy is safe an on its way. It would be nice to fly the rest of the mission, have the music play and land but receive a lower score for not destroying all the units. Thanks for taking onboard our feedback, looking forward to the rest of the campaign.- 97 replies

Great campaign so far! Well put together with a great story line, and I do feel like I’ve been flying some of the missions described in the Scouts Out book. Negatives I’ve found are that if you miss a trigger, all progress stops, and there doesn’t seem to be any failsafe in place to prompt you or keep the mission rolling. Reflected and Baltic Dragon do a good job in this regard. I also feel it’s not realistic to have to kill every soldier and destroy every vehicle in a group for the mission to process when the primary goal is only for a convoy to survive or make it to its destination for example. Some of the English dialogue phrasing and wording is a little off and sounds a little comical at times but I quickly got used to it. You can tell a lot of hours have been spent building the campaign, well done and thank you for sharing it with us. The Scouts Out Deadly accurate gunnery using the IZLID laser- 97 replies

Outstanding Pacific liverys. Now that we have Marianas WW2 map, is there any chance of you doing a generic livery for the 47th and 462nd fighter squadrons?

OnReTech seem to have been using Instagram as their outlet for a while now. I would expect we would be getting more info from ED in an upcoming newsletter? "New major update coming soon. Expanded medium detail zones (Lebanon, Israel, part of Syria, part of UAE), new airfields, new textures, new objects, many new military bases..."

The new Marianas WW2 map is looking superb. Will this map be upgraded to match its WW2 counterpart, terrain mesh, cliff textures, trees and the new ground clutter? The difference between the maps is very obvious in the examples below. Marianas WW2 Marianas Modern Marianas WW2 Marianas WW2 Modern

What can't we release Cold War Germany Phase 2 without?
swartbyron replied to MAESTR0's topic in Wish List
100% agree! Revised airbase textures and ground clutter are whats most important for me. If I had one more wish, no more air racing fields and cones for phase 2 and 3 please. Ideally it would be best to have them hidden before 1991 in the same way the night lighting works on the Normandy map. -
Not many votes? I think this post needs to be shared where people can see it.

I think this is something almost everyone agrees on. The dry areas look very out of place for this part of the world. As you have shown, the airfields would have been green and in immaculate condition even back in the 1980s. I really hope Urga reconsiders the airfield textures and ground clutter before they begin work on the other seasons.

Leave as is but name them using the nearest town or village rather than numbering them. H GDR 12 just tells me it’s located in the GDR but we all know Bitburg AFB is located near Bitburg. Use the actual name of the base or range or radar site if it represents a real life location that the player will be spawning into, navigating to or targeting.

I've been trying to exclude the “sign_airport_pyramid” objects on the Germany map by creating a trigger zone and using the remove objects from zone action. The only successful way I've managed to achieve this is by creating the smallest trigger zone possible for each pyramid I want to remove. It works beautifully but means I need a wopping 22 trigger zones just to remove the pyramids from this airport alone. Trying to use a single rectangular shaped trigger zone for each airfield just removes all the scenery from the rest of the airfield no matter how narrow I make it. Asking on the off chance there may be another way of doing it or perhaps something I've missed when trying to use a single trigger zone at each field? Thanks P.S. I really loathe these nasty little triangles.

I love the new F-5! I can't understand why people complain about spending $15 on a beautiful external model and cockpit that someone spent hundreds of hours developing, but are happy to spend that every Friday night on takeout or at the bar? The old F-5 belongs in DCS 1.5. We're on the verge of DCS 3.0, and every module should be at the F-5 Remastered level at the very least. I would be happy to pay for it. I only wish the external model was transferred to the AI F-5E and F-5 FC, so I don't have to keep seeing that outdated model.

For those who don't like the look of the bush and scrub on the airfields, it can harmlessly be removed the following way. Hide or rename the following files to remove bush and scrb; GermanyColdWar.sd5 Anabasis_setifera.ref Azalea.ref JuniperShrub.ref Hide or rename the following file if you want to remove the small trees found at some airfields; KousaDogwood.ref They can be found here; C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\terrains\GermanyColdWar\surfaceDetails When you restart the sim the bush and scrub wont load and you will be left with just green grassy fields. The best bit is, this wont break IC because no files were replaced or changed. You will have to do this every time you repair or update DCS as the scrub will be restored. How to? The simplest way is to create new folder with in your surfaceDetails folder and name it _Hide, then the move the files you want to hide into there. Don't worry DCS and the map will run just fine with out them.
