DCS: Yak-52 Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)
swartbyron replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: Yak-52
Well this little gem is the best thing to come out of the Stay at home free trial month. I'm absolutely loving the Yak-52, who know you could have so much fun with out any guns or afterburners. -
tunable radio frequencies vs. tower frequencies
swartbyron replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: Yak-52
Not working for me. :( With Easy communication unchecked I can get the menu for Beslan but no reply from the tower. With Easy communication checked I get no menu at all. Not sure how you are managing to do it? -
tunable radio frequencies vs. tower frequencies
swartbyron replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: Yak-52
Yes I know, I have just explained that it works when unchecked but not with all airfields. :) I bet you can't contact Beslan on 141.0 for example? ;) This needs to be corrected or easy communication needs to to be fixed for the Yak so it can be used as a work around. -
tunable radio frequencies vs. tower frequencies
swartbyron replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: Yak-52
As I understand it now, some airfields in DCS have unrealistic frequency's making it impossible for the Yak-52 radio that is modelled realistic to tune in to them. The work around is to tick Easy Communication under the Gameplay in the Options menu. Unfortunately, Easy Communication is not working for the Yak at the moment and I'm not sure if it ever did? This restricts you to flying from fields that have frequency's that the Yak can tune in too.: It also really messes up online play when the server has Easy Communication forced on and then you cant use the radio at all. :( I hope it gets fixed soon. -
tunable radio frequencies vs. tower frequencies
swartbyron replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: Yak-52
This drove me mad Beslan trying to get it to work. Is this the limitations of the radio? Limiting the airfields the Yak can use? Also is the Simplified Radio Communication broken? I cant get it to work in this mode too. :( -
Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022
swartbyron replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Thank you for working on this. Out of all the ground texture mods out there, this is by far my favourite. The blending is superb! Especially how the airfields blend in with the rest of the terrain. I also like that you have kept a similar natural feel whit the stock textures so that your mod feels like it belongs with the sim. SimpleOnlayArraySummer: border_4.tif and border_8.tif have always seemed a little wide and uglyly to me even in the stock textures. Is there any way you could work your magic to narrow them down slightly or make them blend a little better? -
[REPORTED]Interior cockpit lighting 2.5.6 too strong
swartbyron replied to cro_mig_21's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
I've been using the 3d cockpit model from an earlier build as I disliked the flood lighting. Since 2.5.6 even that looks wrong! :( -

[DCS FC3] MiG-29 Complete English Cockpit Mod
swartbyron replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Your English mod is perfectly compatible with the new pit lighting, its just the RWR needs to be removed from the Alpha layer. Only other changes need are to match English lamps + telepanel up with the new pit. The fuel gauge needs updating! Ive had a bit of a play with updateing the RWR and fuel gauge. :) -
This should fix the RWR problem in for the English pit. Hope it helps :) Mig-29-13_cockpit_Texture-1.zip

Anybody notice anything new in the last few updates? I've added the adjusted landing lights to the list but can't see any other changes. Still no signs of working navigation panel yet. :noexpression:

DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
swartbyron replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Thank you for the update but I still find v1.18 to be the most convincing and visually pleasing to fly over. Also I seem to be getting a shimmer from the field textures when flying over them on the latest version. -
Thanks for that Ironhand. Very well done!
-
Thanks, I’ve been waiting for your thoughts on this Ironhand. :) What you say dose tie in nicely with the change to the APUS compensator that ED announced and no other changes were mentioned. You track comparison would have proved that. Placebo effect or I’ve just got better at flying her maybe..? Imagining it or not, the handling over the whole flight envelope feels more refined to me and Im very happy with the work ED has done to date. :) Remember the first MiG-29 we got in Flanker 2.5? You couldn't dream of the filght model we have now back then. Out of interest have you experimented with 0% curve on the pitch axis? It made the world of difference to me. Experimenting by going back to 5% or 10% I cant keep her as smooth in pitch as I do with no curve.
-
Well somebody has been working hard on the flight model and dong a good job. Improvements I've noticed in the update. Everything just feels smoother, natural and more refined. Still sensitive in pitch as the MiG-29 is meant but seems not as aggressive and abrupt as before. I find it easer to trim straight and level. No more rocking as autopilot trys to find centre on the roll axis. You can now fly at 1500kph at 100 m off the deck and trim her to fly hands off! No more pushing the stick all the way forward to the stop to hold her there! Pitch seems to be less affected when you make changes to your throttle settings. As I mentioned before you can raise and lower your landing gear with with out that abrupt pitch up or down as it was before. Any one else notice these changes or is it just me imagining things? lol I'm absolutely loving this flight model! :D Probably one of the most convincing and enjoyable of any I've flown to date!
-
Trim too sensitive, I can't fine adjust the trimming.
swartbyron replied to Siegfried's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Perhaps its just me but the trim seems to greatly improved on in the last update. Feels as if I'm able to make finer adjustments in both pitch and roll. Autopilot seems to find centre on roll axis at last now too. -
Maybe I'm just imagining it but the whole flight model feels slightly more refined. Also seems a lot easer to land too or maybe I am just getting better at it. :) It defiantly feels a little less pitch sensitive and the nose doesn't drop or rise as aggressively as it use to when the landing gear and flaps are raised or lowed.

Possibly optimal or favourite hud settings for the pilot?
