    If I'm not mistaken the blackshark's Vikr is a beam rider. Infact it acts more like a tow, then say a helfire. Where the hellfire searchs for sparkling laser light reflected from a target to find it's mark. The Vikr, Rides the bean to the target. Like a laser tow wire so to say. Would explain why the vihkr spirals around the beam . So the brevity wouldn't be Rifle!. It would be Wire. So buddy lasing would be difficult, because the vihkr's sensors are looking back at the Ka-50, and not looking forward for a coded laser sparkle.

  4. What is really harsh is. I paid an equivalent of 9 cents towards the Apachi, when I pre-ordered and screwed myself outta the 8000 bonus. LOL. A bit unfair but I guess that's life.

The gun provides an angular firing accuracy of two to 4mrad." So thats multiple sources stating that the ka-50 Did have some form of A2A. I just don't think it was as common is all. (But that doesn't mean it didn't happen, or Couldn't happen).These sites were made way before this little debate on weather, or not the Ka-50 did or did not have A2A Capability. But you are right the KA-50 was pretty much the TEST bed of the Alligator. If the USSR didn't fall under. The KA-50 woulda been the mainstay attack helicopter of Russia most likley. But they ran outta money to continue its production.
  6. Lol yeah my appoligies on the time. But people calling AA on the KA-50 Fantasy. When the manufacturer does say it was planned. Then that documentary. Could of swore I did see an igla equiped KA-50 in one of these vids somewhere.. I am still looking but I did find this.

    All I know is. It sure is funny how ED are quick to remove weapons that don't belong on this particular Viper. But they sure don't update it with the ones that do belong.
  9. For sure the Viper. Responsive, Fast, Zippy, and unrestricted climbs to 20k feet. 9g turns. Its like the Ninja bike of the Jet world. I love it, and literally Stopped flying all my other modules since its been out. Even though its early access, I can't put it down.
  10. When will this get fixed it has been a problem for years in dcs seems like a simple fix, of course from my standpoint its As easy as changing a few lines of code in the tanker code. Im sure there is far more to it. That would be to change the tankers from follow direct track, to direct heading when the tanker is asked to refuel. Then go back to direct track when finished. In this example before the recording started. this tanker made 4 banks from left to right, then right to left. Then we started recording, You can see the tanker change bank angles multiple times just to stay on its direct track. This isn't the first time this is happened. I seen tankers damn near do fighter like breaks to stay on that track, (even while refueling is happening). So please, Please fix this finally.
  11. As the title states, in the last 3 tests in a row, I reliably shot down a missile with the aim9x system. I wouldn't bet my life on it in rl. But in DCS, its fun, if you know where the missile is coming from :D. In this video I intentionally shoot down a missile fired at me to get close to a Mig-29C, Dodge the second missile, and then dodge 2 heaters, when he went in for guns I got close to the deck, and he pulled away. Thats where he spelled out his own doom, And the Viper bit hard! :D

  16. I stand corrected, the drag doesn't seem to stay there anymore after last patch. My appoligies.
  17. Yes we know they will work on it.. Problem is when they do correct things. They don't post anything about it. So we are always left wondering what was fixed and what wasn't. Next thing we know. We got a 800kn aircraft on the deck. Taking a serious downgrade in engine umph, since last patch (With not so much of a mention of FM changes) not even breaking 700 knots now on the deck at full burner. Now that's all cool and understandable. But there has litterally been no mention to any flight model changes in the logs at all. So every patch Im forced to run tests to see what broke this patch. Before I can set up any missions in it.
  18. No you can start an empty f-16 with plyons and 4 AA Missiles. and still hit 1.2m on the deck. then add a-g to the plane. Selective jett the a-g weapons as well as the TERs, And you will see the drag still stays. Barely able to break the sound barrier. Let alone even hit mach in some cases.
  19. TWR of the plane seems in my opinion fine. The problem mainly seems to be drag. With an A-G load on. You can't hit m1.0 on the deck.. .95 mach at 5k with CBUS and GBUs. That is understandable.. but when you get rid of said weapons... the weight drops, but the drag stays. Only able to achieve .97 after that with full burner on at 5k. So if you want the full unbridled power of the 16 you have to go clean. just from my experience though.
  20. The op is right in a sense BN. Flying yesterday in the CAUC's. I have a tanker set on 4Y. I entered in the channel and hit ENTER. When I went to chance the band by hitting 0 it went back to channel Select. I had to spam 0 like 3 times then it finally went into the Yankie band. then I set my channel back to 4.
  21. I personally would be happy if they threw us one, or two fixes at a time. External lights maybe? A de-sensitized trim? the the canopy actually attached to the railing. A radar gun sight? Something small. At least then you can see progress even in micro steps. Like building a lego airplane when we were kids. One block at a time, and eventually the thing gets put together. But this "lets put all these features in all at once, and miss deadlines until we get these 50 things in all at once is a bit disheartening. I personally would love to see the former, then the latter. This poor module needs alot of work ED it was released way to early. I love the viper. but Im starting to regret my purchase. Thing is I really don't want too.
  22. I personally drop gbu-12s all the time. Even with 10's at the same time. Haven't missed yet. Personally. But I been setting the laser code every time on the TGP. By going into LIST on the UFC, 0 to go into the MISC page. Then 5 to set the laser code to 1688. Due to to the fact all GBU's at this moment are set to 1688, which can not be changed. but you can change the code on the TGP. But like I said I haven't had any issues with the TGP. So take my experience with it with a grain of salt. Hope this helps anyone looking to use the TGP who doesn't understand how to set the laser code. Maybe bombing will be better for you. :)
  23. My point is anything would be better then what I see in game atm. Swear I saw a better looking burner on the Su-25t. All kidding aside. The one we got is not even a burners color its like a tan-pink color that has no ambient or radiant color to it at all. On top of that The point of this thread was to bring to light that the burner we have on the viper is seriously Crappy. So I was just keeping attention drawn to that fact. GE. or PW. Point is they both produce a big flame :D... Ours Don't, I can show you just as nice GE Flames as well if you need me to. But I'm fairly sure you already know that though.
