  1. Hello! I have noticed that there is no difference in fuel quantity between 50 gal and 100 gal external tanks. Both types take same amount of time to deplete before outer tanks get into play.. I checked flight manual- Fuel System section, Cruise Flight and Limitations section. Nothing mentioned there about it. Am I doing anything wrong, such as flying above certain altitude or is it just pending bug? Thank you for help.
  2. Check warm up procedure in flight manual. It`s all there. Don`t push the engine until it reaches optimal temperature and oil pressure is withing limits. All our warbirds` engines will seize mid air if you strain them without warming it up first. Another vital advise for a newbie: study the Flight manual in full. That will spare you of frustration and lost time in game.
  3. Read flight manual, check tutorials on Youtube [Grim Reapers, Spudnocker, Growling Sidewinder, etc. ] and in-game training missions. All guidance is already in existence. Delayed fuzes don't work in DCS and that eliminates precision bombing for now.
  4. Yes, our Mosquito needs to be flown as intruder, not as single engine fighter in combat missions. When I flown it on Channel server, was sneaking whenever possible under 50 metres over channel and French soil. Mosquito can be played on its strengths on servers or missions without AI fighters [ as they can see rather well ], with fog of war, no labels, no F5 view for human players and also precise bombing runs will be a reality once delayed fuzes will work again in DCS. A successful sortie is the one during which you avoid any contact with enemy fighters. Sneak in, do the job, sneak out and act like nothing happened until landing back home. As a cruiser on Aerobatic servers it`s great since they sorted elevation trim sensitivity.
  5. Yes, this Mosquito variant is not particularly a greyhound and its supercharger is tuned for low and mid altitudes up to 6 km. Even there it is just average comparing to other modules. Above that it looses breath quickly and it is between 6-8 km where speed tuned fighters like Mustang or Bf-109K shine. Regarding guidance to targets. You mean ships, ground units or fighters? Mosquito is not suited to stand toe to toe with single engine high performers. You have not enough thrust for sustained turns and it is less nimble and slow. You don`t dictate terms of fight. You can`t chase. You can`t run away. Once a decent pilot gets behind you, the fight is over quickly. One way to dodge bullets from ships and AA ground cannons is to wait for a burst to be shoot at you, then change altitude by a few metres so bullets miss you and approach and shoot at target during time windows between bursts which is about 10-20 secs. If there are more units firing at you at different moments, then it is better not to attempt an attack in a first place. You won`t win on your own unless there is at least 1 more ally with you to preoccupy AA gunners.
  6. It has been explained in past. Just dive into archive and you will find it somewhere the from 2020, or on Youtube during interview with Wag or Nick.
  7. Haha, that`s so funny! Haven`t have such a great laugh in months!
  8. True. I attacked only unarmed tankers so far. Would not go for armed vessel with Mossie on my own. One can fire from as far as one wishes. Pilots in DCS will each come with their own attack styles, guessing. I prefer close range to make sure that I actually tit something after spending time flying to target. Would be frustrating to fly 20 mins to target, fire and make 6 rockets out of 8 missing the ship/ target and fly back 20 mins home empty handed.
  9. Looks like chocks can`t be removed so all Migs 19 in DCS are basically grounded until it`s fixed one day.
  10. Rockets are fun and working! They have considerable drop so only viable from very close distances. For example when shooting on Elnya tanker, one needs to fire rockers from 300m or so and aim for top of mast with piper so rockets can hit hull. Sinking Elnya will requite 16 hits and maybe a few 20mm cannon rounds just to finish it off.
  11. Hello! Reporting that /- communication menu does not seems to work. I tried to play on Persian gulf today and tried to re-bind the command and then respawn as well, but communication menu does not appear. Could not rearm/ refuel, etc. Not having same issue with other modules.
  12. Here are 2 tips to solve start up and refuelling bugs: 1. Engage Autostart procedure 2. Don`t touch any key on keyboard, nor pedals, nor joystick until propeller starts to rotate. If you touch anything, the procedure gets disrupted and fail. 3. If you by accident touch anything, then autostart procedure will go through all steps except of inertial starter. To start up the engine you need to ask ground crew in communication menu to RUN INERTIAL STARTER. You may need to open canopy. Wait for COPY reply, then wait further 30 secs and when ground crew shout some word [ forgot what exactly it is ], manually pull engine starter with the mouse. The engine will kick in. Also 4 days ago I found out by accident how to make Inertial Starter to engage after refueling. The fix is: 1. Go to comms menu and press REARM AND REFUELL. 2. Empty the internal fuel tank to 0% and attach a new, fresh external tank to the belly. 3. After ground crew is done with everything, go for Autostart procedure. Fuel from external tank will immediately gets pumped into internal tank and the inertial starter and engine will kick in. 4. As you fly around in Messerschmitt, after every landing just put a new fresh 300L external that will keep topping up internal tank. so you will never need to actually doing REFUELLING....just REARMING. Congratulation for purchasing Messerschmitt with all its quirks! Bf-109 will fly far at 2200rpm in Auto mode, so even 300L will keep you in air for 1 hour in mid altitudes. No need to cruise at 2400rpm or more. The speed gain would be only marginal and at 2200rpm the plane is more relaxed and you don`t need to fight powerful torque effect. Mentioning that don`t forget to tune Aileron Trim in Special Settings to fit your flying style. Mine is set to 29units LEFT and is tuned for 2200rpm level cruise in Auto Governor Mode.
  13. As stated in BF-109`s Flight manual, it is not all weather, nor night fighter, nor designed to be flown by instruments only. All current DCS WW2 fighters are day fighters and even in real life combat sorties would not be undertaken during bad weather. If you still want perform landing in thick fog, then homing beacon will bring you to the airfield`s vicinity and from there relying on eye balls will be your best bet.
  14. Wow!. So hopefully one day we may fly 4 engine bomber. God bless the developers!
  15. Hello. When Mossie is repaired on a Forrestal carrier, it respawns in a parking slot at the front of the tower. Its tail overhang the deck`s edge and plane dips into sea after being lowered from air. Not sure whether same happens on Nimitz or Kuznetcov.
  16. This bug has been here for a 2+ years. I am very surprised that nothing was done with it so far. Also, if you to repair after the flight and then refuel the plane will not start again. The autostop procedure will run, but ground crew will not engage initial starter. So the only remedy is to respawn. Sad.
  17. I would love to be able to fly 4 engine bomber- either B-17, 24 or 29. Understanding that on combat server it will attract every enemy human pilot seeking big fat satisfying target to shoot down...... so not arguing about short combat life expectancy. 1 bomber can`t do much on its own. 3-4 would need to fly together to make sure that at least 1 reaches the target and drop bombs on enemy base/ town/ industrial district to meet objective of the sortie. On the other side we all know that Aerobatic Servers are one of most popular and most populated most hours of a day, 7 days a week. 4 engine bomber would provide hardcore study flying experience for hardcore enthusiasts. Let`s say 2-5 hours around the map flights. Friends or players could jump into cockpit and could swap every 1 hour at the yoke, while the other one could be flight engineer, or do necessary housekeeping while at the same time enjoying the scenery as a passenger. AI could do the job in case of absence of a human at the particular station. A few days ago I flew as a navigator with another player in Mosquito on Aerobatic Caucasus server. He flew us through valleys and we came up with idea that I would now and then check F-10 view and using ruler providing him with course and distance info towards next base or way point. Then we came with idea of me also keeping an eye on fuel tanks and operate fuel cocks levers. Then he came up with idea that while he will during approach align with runway I could drop landing gear and flaps. So I did......and it was great fun! Between doing bits here and there I enjoyed great scenery and clouds form the seat as we conversated about aviation. He landed us safely and what a feeling of shared achievement and success it was!
  18. Oh, that is actually true. Sometimes I get carried away before thinking twice, haha.
  19. Wow. Did not know that. I don`t want to be rude, but offsetting rudder pedals from pilot was a step too far. Small bits misplaced here and there are ok, lets say. Should I ment to be a long distance pilot and they would ask me to stay slightly twisted to one side for hours...I would say ,,NO,, lol. This makes me appreciate aergonomics of 21st century cars.
  20. Haha, well said. Those trim wheels make no sense whatsoever. Thanks to God that we don`t have to deal with them in real life and can key bind them and operate from the comfort of our keyboards. VSI is another funny one.
  21. Same issue here. Looks like Artificial horizon is just not working correctly and can`t be relied upon. Threre is no option to cage and then uncage it.
  22. We are talking about 2 different things. You fly at low level. I do 2+ hours long distance cruising at 4-8 km altitude in all warbirds depending on their supercharger capabilities , often above first layer of clouds. Gunsight can `t be aligned with horizon up there. In order to keep the plane`s constant speed [ and constant trim settings ], pitching up and down must be eliminated as much as possible. Vertical speed indicator is the most precise gauge to use for the task . Altimeter is not suitable substitude either.
  23. Keep such a smart arse solution to yourself because obviously you haven`t got a clue what you are talking about.
  24. Works on my PC, too. It is just slower, so you need to press the trim button for longer.
