  1. And very many thanks to you for posting on your forum!
  2. I regret that we have been unable to find a distributor in South America for the retail Spanish version of DCS:Black Shark. We have therefore made it available as a payable download. I would be grateful if you could alert the communities in South and Central America
  3. Apologies for the delay. We are re-configuring the website. Extended manuals for all languages are now available at files/manuals.
  4. It was on "Helicopter Wars" on the UK Nat Geo channel, sorry - I did not save it.
  5. I have just watched a video created in the 1960's about training Huey pilots for Vietnam. The key point is to make very minor inputs for the cyclic when in the hover. The statement was "Never move your cyclic more than the width of a silver dollar". As a Brit, I do not know what the width is of a silver dollar! But a guess - one inch?
  6. There is another way, for use in simulating a FAC/observer on the ground. Place an object in a mission. When mission starts, press F12 to look at object. Press CRTL+F11 to get view from the object. You can move around the whole world at a speed of your choice.
  7. Here is a video:- See how small the inputs are of the rudders, collective and cyclic are in the cockpit view
  8. Hi Oldflyer2 I'm 12 years your senior! If you have not done so, do download Frazer Demo: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=133&scr=products&lang=en Watch what Frazer is doing in the cockpit view, and how the Ka-50 is reacting. You may find it helpful.
  9. Review attached - it is from the Royal Aeronautical Society magazine. Black Shark PC Review.pdf
  10. I had the pleasure of meeting Ed Macy recently. As you know he was very impressed with our flight model. He told me that the "acid test" that he used was to trim correctly and then let the Ka-50 fly "hands off", which it did.
  11. For those in the UK only:- See:- http://demand.five.tv/searchresults.aspx?search=helicopter+warfare In particular see Episode 4, Lynx V T55 in Iraq. shows tactics, including "Rat and Hamster" Also Episode 3 - Afghanistan is interesting.
  12. The manual is currently being set-up in the Amazon.co.uk book system. I apologise for the delay, but we are in the hands of their admin system, which is slow.
  13. Please pm me if anyone is still owed money by URZE for non-delivery of his collective.
  14. Some early videos here:- http://friends-of-tfc.blogspot.com/
  15. If you have bought LockOn in the UK, you can get Flaming Cliffs add-on here: http://fighter-collection.com/pages/tfc/flight%20simulation/index.php
  16. It is known as "recce-to-find-fire", and is a common tactic. The last time that there was major combat over forests/jungle was Vietnam. The Balkans conflicts had plenty of forests, but helos were not used. Iraq and Afghanistan do not have too many forests (though Helmand province has a lot of heavy wooded areas around the river). There are many books/papers on the tactics used by helos in Vietnam. For an interesting book (and documentary on UK Sky "Helicopter Warfare") about a Lynx from 847 squadron and a Gazelle trying to find a T55 that was well camouflaged and were giving them a hard time in Basra in Iraq, see "Armed Action" by James Newton. It describes the duel and tactics adopted by both sides, relevant to forests as well as urban warfare. The Lynx finally won, but only just.
  17. Groove was there on Sunday - I reckon he took about 1500 pictures! Give him a week to sort out. The FW190 was very impressive, as was the whole show.
  18. If you can take Friday off, go to Duxford. There will be a lot of activity, aircraft arriving, air display practice etc. See: http://friends-of-tfc.blogspot.com/
  19. An Update of what is flying: http://fighter-collection.com/pages.php Unfortunately the FW190 may only be on static display. Looking forward to seeing the Sea Fury T20, WG655. My Father flew it in 1952 for acceptance trials.
  20. THe DCS series, as well as providing new levels of flight dynamics, avionics etc, is also simulating the real world. In the real world, before you start a mission, you will have spent 2 hours evaluating the task, preparing your flight plan, and for a helo, very carefully studying your maps, particular understanding the typographical features.. Where is the dead ground between particular waypoints? Where do you go if attacked from a particular sector? Think through and plan for the "What If". You have to think like an infantryman. It is no accident that Attack Helicopters throughout the world are operated by Army Aviation and not Air Force. If you have not done so, read Ed Macy's Apache book.
  21. Sorry all - It was a long day at Duxford today - It is of course an FW190 (from France), and it is the weekend of 11/12 July!
  22. Just looked at provisional list of aircraft. FW190 may be flying!
  23. Amazon UK will be ordering next week. Watch their site and pre-order or ask fo email alert when it is available.
  24. We have had confirmation today from Amazon.co.uk that they will be ordering the manual next week
  25. They do die with an animation. No squishy because it would change the age rating in some countries.
