Would be also awesome to have the enemy AI behave like they are under suppressive fire. Like scattering and stop shooting at you for a few seconds/minutes. I think there is a script for this but i never tried it.

Helicopter Collective and Cyclic
BaD CrC replied to RePhil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Very limited market saddly. I would watch Virpil announced a new collective. I would closely follow that. -
BSD is a choppers only squadron (all DCS choppers) with an US Army based training in place for cooperative missions (no pvp). 2 dedicated servers, US and EU zone IP available for evaluation flight and training. SRS for comms. Go to www.blacksharkden.com and click on ENROLL or just jump on our Discord server to say hi (link on the front page of the website).

There are 3 radios in the Ka50. The Short Wave is one of them, but it is using a fixed frequency with no possibility to change it. Use it for communication within a flight.
-
Remember that you can set your mission at a day that have full moon (just check on any website that let you know when there is a full moon). And if it is too bright, just choose another day for half moon.

There is never too much realism for DCS. Little details that sounds like something you will never use but that are actually implemented are actually making my day and the reason why I am not flying on anything else. This is the DNA of this sim.

Thank you Greekbull and Yomo! Just finished the mod. I also removed the springs (10 seconds job with the TPR) to avoid self centering when I fly choppers (never fly fixed wings anyway). The feeling is mind blowing and you can set the friction level to whatever you want. Amazing! So happy right now.:megalol:

[REPORTED]BUG Report - cargo in MP flying in sky
BaD CrC replied to HC_Official's topic in Bugs and Problems
What we are doing usually is once the cargo is officially dropped in zone (despite hovering above it), we are asking the next chopper to shoot at the hovering cargo (if equipped) to remove it as it is still collideable and as such a safety hazard to the next incoming choppers. -
@3WA. Well it works for me, but you are right on one point, having AI AH-64 or Mi-24 is deadly although in some rare cases, assuming you know they are coming your way ahead of time, you might be able to spot them early enough. But it is intense.

Even if you were able to lock a fighter, there would be no point. Your Vikhr is not fast or accurate enough to catch up this kind of target. For helicopter, with a Vikhr you need to lock when your target is flying toward or away from you, but locking a moving helicopter when it is flying left to right or right to left will be very hard. If the target is not too threatening, your best choice is to engage it at gun range with your gun.

Entre la version stable et la version open alpha, avec le rythme des mises a jour beaucoup plus eleves pour l'Openalpha, il y a une tendance plus forte des serveurs et squadrons a voler sur l'Openalpha. A toi de voir.

Very difficult issue Picklemonster. Unless you can find a RW dedicated server, helos are very rarely considered other than for some pick ups and CSAR tasking, and always targeted by FW newbies because they are easy kills. I would generally advise to avoid public servers in general and public servers with missions/campaigns designed for FW in mind with RW as an after thought more specifically. We just don't live in the same World, and when we do it can be done only in a coordinated manner within a purposely built cooperative mission. Without that, you'll just get frustrated flying MP.

+1 on the dead units metzger. Although sometimes it is very useful to see who is dead and who is alive. But not realistic indeed.
-
Agree with Fargo here. This adjustment is very welcome and makes much more sense from a realism point of view. This should put the Huey back into the kind of operations it belongs and stop seeing SEAD missions or heavy armored convoy hunting with Hueys. It will also gives room to the OH-58D and it's Hellfires.

Most mods have been re compiled with the new EDM format. Ranger79 objects were extremely valuable to the mission designers community but Ranger79 left the modding community for some time and he was not answering PMs. Some other modders though took over to replace (partially) some of the objects. So today, the loss of switching to the new EDM is, I would say, 85% recovered. It's still a PITA tough to re work the older missions to make it work with the new objects.
-
Humm, only if you fly VMC daylight. You should challenge yourself a bit more and try to fly nighttime. You'll see that this is not the way you believe it works.

Ranger79 mods are out. VPC airfields needs update. Tents are out.

Ranger79 Base Objects Pack (Hesco's + others)
BaD CrC replied to Ranger79's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
ED will probably never support mods and having a built in manager would be like officially doing so. If you can live with something that is not build in, you might want to give a try to OVgme that offers basically all what you are asking for (but maybe you already knew that). BlackSharkDen is running on this software with an online repository that allows our pilots to update at a push of a button the different BSD Mods Packs whenever they are updated. Mods are even more critical to choppers that we are flying in a place (low and slow) where details count a lot, and objects today offered basic on DCS cater more for missions aimed at the high flyers. -

Yes, agree with you Eagle, we cannot really call the ABRIS multi function, it is more an advanced FMS with moving map. I am not saying the ABRIS is simplistic though. After 10 years I still have to learn many of its capabilities. -
It's pretty bad for choppers actually. I am not quite sure what triggers it. Sometimes you land on the deck and it looks like it's alright, then suddenly you are starting to slide off the deck, sometimes you are sliding off the deck the moment your skids or wheels are touching it.

Considering that the Huey flight model is probably the most unanimously recognized as realistic in the community (as far as what a decent PC can do), and that's coming from numerous real life helicopter pilots and ex Huey ones, one can only assume one or several of these: - you've been flying helos on Flight Simulator or Arma3 and as such been completely mislead on how a chopper flies - you have been flying fixed wing in DCS most of the time and expect a chopper to be as easy to fly as a fixed wing. - you just starting to learn the Huey and don't have the proper controls to fly this bird Of course, "one" can be mistaken, apologies in advance if this is not the case. So you are right, actually no chance at all to see the Hueys FM to be changed (mainly if the purpose is to make it "stop circling all the time" because that would kinda piss off a lot of people here)

STREAM DECK PROFILES LIBRARY
BaD CrC replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Anyone working on a DCS-BIOS interface for the streamdecks? I am running mini, standard and XL and having them talk to DCS directly would be really awesome.
